OMG YES this novel was one my and my friend loved and bonded over so much the characters (MC and ML)  exactly almost exactly like me and my friend which part of the reason why we enjoyed it. They have such a cute relationship it makes me wanna throw up and cry (tbh not fair I confessed to a girl I like and she said Kay, and proceeded to walk off). A classic we all know and love, this was actually my very first BL wuxia novel and.... well looke at me now... I cant say I am too proud lol. But this novel is WONDERFULLLLL like the plot is very relevant throughout the whole entire novel. The side characters and in fact all the characters in this novel do not feel two-dimensional at all. My one complaint was the how at the end it was virtually all s_xual scenes. If that's your thing then this book is for you, but for me it felt overdone at some point.
