why low rate?? I'm pretty sure this one deserved a solid 4.5 at least if you've read their story

but I guess because the age difference for nearly 6/7 years between leads might cause the low rate?

anyway, since the very beginning, FL likes ML and tho ML doesnt realize and show it, he really spoils FL and caters to her feeling

ML is a 23 y.o athlete who is being temporarily dismissed by the national group. But he didnt go to the universtiy, so his mom decided for him to go to highshcool again while waiting for further notice of his dismissal. During that time, ML met FL. And yeah, your typical story, ML likes how FL is so sunny and funny. For real, FL's counterattack is so funny! And then their romance start

I've read quite a lot of stories with kind of a big age gap between the FL and ML (the biggest is around 10 years), however, I've never actually felt there's that generation gap or whatsoever between them, but in this story, I felt it clearly. If the age gap in those stories were just numbers, a part of the character's demographic profile, or an adjective, in this story, it's written to show a contrast between the worlds of a teenager and adults. The age gap here is a part... more>> of the plot rather than a description for the ML. It's actually well written as I can clearly see what's the difference of an adult's world via a teenager's perspective and vice versa. The ML thought that the teenager's world is slightly childish, mundane, and funny while the FL thought that the adult's world is difficult to understand sometimes, boring, and perplexing. I really admire the author for that.

Now, regarding the FL, well, although I expected more from her (like talent, intelligence, etc.) her character design isn't bad. Just like what I said, the author did a great job in vividly portraying a teenage heart and youth. The feeling of having her first love, and the feeling of loss when thrown into the world of the adults. The FL isn't an OP, neither talented nor very smart, but she's likeable in her own way. She's innocent, especially when she's falling for the ML.

As for the ML, well, he's indeed someone who already stepped in the adulthood, but his impulsiveness (especially for the FL) made him appear cuter. What's most commendable about him is that although he's fond of the FL when she's still a minor, that's just it. He doesn't have any dirty thoughts or something, just fondness (or maybe he isn't aware of it). But anyway, he just made his move when the FL is already in her legal age and is already a college student.

As for the supporting characters, my favorite is Xie Ying (actually, she's my bias from this story). Why?

I just feel like she's a contradiction. Her character design is interesting because she's mature for her age but she still retains some of her childishness and impulsiveness as a youth. She's outspoken but not without a tact. And most especially, she's a loyal friend. She dislike (but not utter dislike or disgust) those with low grades yet her bestfriend was the second to the last in their class ranking. Also, her decisiveness to confess to Cheng Sheng and being able to move forward after being rejected were noteworthy. She didn't regretted it. Instead, she made it part of the memories of her youth that she can reminisce and laugh in the future. And most of all, she's responsible for her actions. She doesn't have any career direction and just enrolled to the college where her crush was studying, even after being rejected, she still stayed and took responsibility for her decision. Instead of quitting or changing her course, she just went with it and do her best.

And plot wise, it's good. Youth, adulthood, dreams, confusion, career, etc., were all mentioned. The life lessons about the reality were sometimes vividly shown, and sometimes, it's subtle. Nevertheless, it's worth to ponder. Also, there's no major misunderstandings and those small conflicts doesn't have a major impact to the relationship between the FL and ML. Nevertheless, it's worth to ponder As for the translation, aside from some mistranslated pronouns and names, it's good.

Overall, it's good for a fast read. We can say it's lighthearted because of the comedic undertone, but if we ponder over it, we'll realize that's it's not as lighthearted as we thought. It's just too bad that there no side stories. But still, it's 9/10 for me. <<less

I loved this 😍

How to describe this novel, very sweet. The couple was cute, even when they were not together.

What was not mentioned in the synopsis, was that the ML is actually 6 years older than the FL.

He's actually in the national team of fencing, but was suspended due to bad conduct. After that, his mom advised him to get back to high school and finish his studies, while they give a final decision on how to deal with him.

Of course, the FL mistakenly thinks that he repeated senior year 6 times 🤣

Which is the reason their romance was slow, the FL was in high school, and the ML cared for her a lot and didn't get together with her till she became an adult.

Cute, and fluffy story! I love how the difference between adults and teens were portrayed, really showing the age-gap (not in a bad way, iykyk). I love how misunderstandings are resolved in a timely manner. And finally, a FL who is not s*upid s*upid, ya know? This is a story that have lots of potential to become something more. Nothing lacking, but definitely has lots of room for improvement.

Very cute! FL is hilarious and adorable while ML is sweet. Overall pretty fluffy and short read; the romance doesn’t officially start until college. FL solves misunderstandings quickly and there is no love triangle. Supporting characters are a little one dimensional, they only exist to promote the main characters’ romance. However it’s a good story overall!

The writing is good and the story flow is smooth, however it is rather as bland as water. Nothing much happens, very basic and uneventful apart from fluffs and some occasional funny mutterings of the naive MC.

Maybe this is just not my cup of tea, I find it difficult to be much interested in an MC who has not much about her had she not have an outstanding looks.

This is a super sweet, humorous novel with alot of fun moments that made me laugh. It's a basic story of girl meets boy and they eventually fall in love with one another. There are some minor antagonists, but they're dealt with fairly quickly. Some misunderstandings occur which are also cleared off very quick.

FL is a funny naive girl who has a quirky way of thinking about things. She's not too good at studying, pretty lazy, and is pampered at home. She doesn't have much of a temper, and easily... more>> coaxed if upset.

ML on the other hand, is a mischievous sort of character who loves to tease the FL when they're deskmates. But he does pamper her too.

So for this story, ML is 23, and FL is turning 18. Yes, there's an age gap. And yes, it is VERY WEIRD that the ML despite being a 23 year old, has to go back to the senior year of high school (they don't explain it well or either that I read it wrong.) due to some mishap where he got suspended from his fencing team when he was found doing something wrong and missing rehearsals for some big game. Why go back to high school though, why can't he go for some remedial classes? Anywayyyy, he has to go back to high school in this story to be the FL's deskmate where they have some funny adventures together so don't think about it too deeply.

As ML is an adult, he thinks of his deskmate as a kid. He often has to tell himself to be a mature and calm adult though when he's dealing with the antics of his schoolmates. So because of that he does not let himself fall for the FL when they're in school as she's a minor. He also doesn't actively encourage her per se. In fact, she crushes on him first and he ignores it as he doesn't want to encourage it. But towards the end when she turns 18 and is graduating, he does give her some ambiguous hints.

They get together when the FL is in university and of age. He also thinks to himself that, damn I said I wasn't going to fall for her and now I did......

It's a very cute story and the chemistry between the FL and ML is really good. I recommend this! <<less
