Characters are introduced in the most flippant of ways, with no preamble or after thought. It’s like we missed an entire chapter where they were all introduced and we’re already suppose to know who everyone is. I had to memorise about 4 new characters in one chapter alone and I didn’t find out who they were or their occupation and their relationship with the MC until 2 chapters later. In fact there are some characters who seem particularly important to the MC (enough for her to visit them in the hospital and bail them out from a police station) but 15-17 chapters in and we still have no clue who they are to her, how they met, etc! It’s not just characters that are inserted into the story with no warning. There is supposedly a pretty big secret surrounding MCs background so no one can know she is related to her brother even though she appears to be working for him in the same company and they share the same last name. Why do we know this? They live together but when she was facing a crisis he stood back, did nothing and the ML had to swoop in to save the day - obvs. =_= not once was this addressed though.

She comes when called (they don’t even have any tangible relationship at this point whether professional or otherwise just fellow alumni of the same college/uni where they never actually met face to face) but she is - for some reason that was never fully disclosed - managing a club/restaurant for him because she offended him somehow I believe within a week of them “reuniting” if we can even call it that since they don’t actually have a past together. No business contract, no employment agreement, just “take care of this place for me and drive all the way out to the venue to deal with issues if and when they arise.”
