Checked whether it's something worthy because of translator. Note that I might be somewhat biased as I m not a fan of vampire stories. Overall it wasn't anything great. I didn't like 'funny' style story is written in nor characters' interactions.

Basically at the first glance it's story about few centuries old vampire in small town without modern touch. Our geriatric MC has money problem and tries to be frugal whenever he can. Mayor is trying to convince him to take on some kind of a job and finally make some... more>> money. <<less

This is a supernatural mystery series taking place in the town of Barton that is in the territory of the Grande Family. Thus far, the family includes a banshee sixteen-year-old girl with anxiety, a macho werewolf, a vampire who thinks he's all that, a shape-shifting doggo, and Madison, who can detect changes in fate, along with many human characters.

The narrator is Madison himself, but the main character appears to be the vampire. The series is written similar to the Sherlock Holmes series in that Madison, like Dr. John Watson, is... more>> the narrator while another character, like Sherlock Holmes, is the character who receives the most attention and takes the most action. The series is the Record of Barton's Fantastical Events because these are the cases compiled and written by Madison.

Naturally, the supernatural creatures the MC and narrator are part of cooperate with the police, although they tend to resolve events far more violently than humans do.

There are a couple of awkward translation moments, such as when a nursing home and psychiatric hospital are treated as equivalent things when they have very different characteristics and rules. There are also some obvious grammatical errors, especially in the beginning. Fortunately, the quality improves drastically as it goes on.

The character designs are interesting, and the story development makes sense. The world background is clear.

I'd recommend this series for anyone who likes supernatural mystery or detective series. Or, of course, anyone who likes supernatural themes in general. So far, the series is fairly lighthearted. <<less
