This story is partly from the POV of Seiden (ML) and partly from the POV of Belotta (FL).

ML is a very brusque man. On the surface the typical ML with the black hair, red eyes— strongest knight in the lands and from a Marquis family. He isn't delicate in how he speaks, but on the inside is considerate (mostly to FL who he has always liked). He ranges from blunt to lowkey kinda savage. He's not overly heroic but has a good sense of justice. I liked the part in... more>> the story where he goes on a rescue monster hunt mission and when he finds out they plan to sacrifice a child and his mom, he saves them and leaves the others to die. I would describe the way he does things as practical/cautious— he does not take s*upid deals that would be detrimental to himself. Tldr he is not a frustrating goody two shoes.

FL is very good natured, hard working and quite stubborn to the point of recklessness sometimes. She really believes in helping/protecting others and always puts others before herself. She's a bit more prickly towards ML who typically doesn't care about delicacy/politeness but really trusts him. She doesn't know ML likes her and just thinks he is a devout man who has a sense of justice. He offends her in their first encounter (he actually was quite rude, holding onto residual anger having met the horrible criminal that was supposed to go sleep with her) and she kept insisting she would just see the death row inmates (despite not fully understanding how disgusting and dangerous they are— thank god venereal disease does not seem to be a thing) bc she was mad at him and a bit naive about self-preservation. She can't quite say no to the useless and annoying moneybags duke who has a crush on her (and keeps coming up with s*upid plans that put them all into danger). She's not that dense tho— bc she knows the idiot likes her and is using his money to gain favor. <<less

Honestly, the ML love for the FL cannot be described, to the point where I started questioning if someone will ever love me like he did

Also FL is capable and is smart

Both the ML and FL are amazing and so is the translation

It's such a shame that this book has such a eyeroll-worthy premise - the curse is pretty dumb and to be honest I picked this up hoping for some lighthearted escapism that I would read, enjoy, and quickly forget. I was surprised though - there's actually a pretty serious plot involving the ML's attempt to unravel the 100-year religious/demonic conspiracy behind the FL's curse. Honestly the curse was just a silly plot device to provide an excuse to get the story going, and to add some spice for people who... more>> want spice. If you replaced the curse's effect with something else life-threatening and removed all the s*x scenes from the book, there's actually quite a lot of substance left to enjoy. <<less

For a p*rn plot like this, it sure doesn't have enough smut in it. Other than that, there is not a single enjoyable character.

ML is robotically in love with FL. And FL tries to decline his help attempts every chance she gets. It's not helpful for her character because I don't think we know much about her other than she helps/heals people. It feels like the author gave descriptions about the characters, but didn't actually introduce them to us. That's why they feel extremely two-dimensional.

After chapter 3 part... more>> 4, I read some spoilers, and the story sure is full of annoying plot points and other boring characters. There is not a single original thing in this novel.

Spoiler

Also, all that trouble he goes through for her, she can't even say thanks to him?? Girl is spitting out orders and leaving the room every damn time. He is not your dog... Also, why the hell doesn't the ML ask for the details of the curse, but goes to the tower master and tries to describe it? ASK HER. She doesn't want to answer? Tries to run away? Try to talk to her more. Ugh.

This novel is dysfunctional. BYE. <<less
