I thought this novel would be a cool story about a kick ass young woman disguised as a man, that would be very smart and work under the shadows with an intelligence network and shadow spies to secure the future of her family's legacy of powerful generals. And that female lead was only acting as a s*upid and brainless playboy to avoid the Emperor's suspicion about the real military power of her family... Man, I was so wrong 😑...
The female lead was far from being a kick ass and smart young woman. She spent the whole novel, making mischievous moves to pretend that she was a s*upid and brainless playboy. But, in the end, those s*upid mischievous actions only brought problems to innocent people, and only prove to me that she was really brainless... she didn't spy, she didn't work under the shadows to protect her family agains the Emperor, she only keep acting mischievously over and over... and she wasn't even successful in my opinion 🙄
For example, she won a bet against another young noble, that was the son of other family of generals, that was antagonistic to her military family...
So, since she won the bet, she decided to bring everyone to celebrate in a restaurant... While there, she ended up getting drunk. At first, I thought she was pretending to get drunk to manipulate the situation. But nope, she really got drunk 🙄 Then the Fifth Prince, the male lead, carried her to his palace. And discovered her secret, that she was a woman and the worst of all is that she didn't even notice that her disguise was revealed...
Can she be more s*upid? Yeah, she can... because a while later, the young noble, the one that lost the bet to her and was from a family of enemy generals, started to suspect that female lead could actually be a woman. So he hid inside the wardrobe in female lead's room and also discovered her secret giving a powerful trump card to the enemy... What a s*upid, despite being a daughter of military and martial artists, she wasn't even a good martial artist that could notice that someone was hiding in her room and spying on her...
I didn't get the point of the novel in dressing her as a man to inherit her powerful family's legacy, if she was going to lack so much. If it was going to be like that, it was better for her father to adopt a smart family member that had potential and train him to become an extraordinary general and secure the military power of the family, since female lead proved over and over that she wasn't capable at all...
