This is the story of a demoness with a lot of anger and resentment against heaven, forgetting everything and living life again in search of meaning. Her twin sister, Linglong, is passionate and headstrong, but a decent person, which is a nice change from many of these xianxia stories. In fact, the story is packed with people who are decent, but may think and act in completely different ways from our main character. Xuanji has strong opinions about right and wrong, which seems to be what's gotten her into trouble in her past lives, but is starting to learn that what is right and what is wrong can be nuanced. Several of the people (children) around her start to realize that she's a bit different through some of the events of the early story, but she seems to be oblivious to her demonic roots and to her own potential. Every character is pissing me off tbh especially the MC and her twin. All the jokes author wrote is so dumb and childish. MC's twin is really childish as fck too. I especially hate how they'd always compare MC with her twin. As someone with a twin irl, that just annoys me so much. Like I get it, LingLong whatever is so fiery and cheerful while MC isnt blah blah. No need to repeat it again and again. I also dont get how MC had a crush on Min Yan... more>> cuz the author didnt gave us a hint at all. Min Yan was literally always mean towards MC just cause she's not like her twin and MC is well aware of that fact so I just dont get why she had a crush on Min Yan like the f*ck especially when Min Yan likes her twin and her twin likes Ming Ya. Im really not fond with MC or any of the characters. There's this s*upid love triangle sht between MC, Min Yan, and Sifeng. MC is "deeply in love" with Sifeng yet she couldnt fking let go of her feelings for Min Yan which is what the fk bro, this is so disrespectful for both Sifeng and for her twin. If you like cliche and s*upidly dramatic af novels with unnecessary love triangles, this is for you. <<less

Fuuuucckkk this story is sooooo damn entertaining. There's so many twists and turns, so many secrets, and there's no character without their own flaws and merits, the characters are so deep! I LOVE IT AND U SHOULD GIVE IT A SHOT U WON'T REGRET IT

In the beginning there's Xuanji our main character in the underworld, facing her punishment. And then she got reincarnated and here the journey begin where Xuanji learned about human feelings and human relationships, it's by no means an easy feat. She stumbled A LOT. And while... more>> she stumbling to learn about her own feelings, her unusual identity in the past life can't be ignored.

Thus, while slowly regaining her memories and understanding of what actually happened in the heavenly realm, Xuanji also grown up and tried her best to find her love~

And that's where the last updated chapter left me hanging and I am FURIOUS <<less

Should have reviewed this way back when I got hooked into reading it because it’s a d*mn good story with fluid easy to read translation 🤩 Such a creative original storyline with deeply real characters and complex plot
