I am dropping this novel as of c4. The translation quality is really high! If you can stand the fatshaming and s*upidity of our FL, then I do truly recommend you try this. It is a palace/harem novel, and it seems there is more going on than meets the eye. <<less

I started reading this hoping that it was about someone who

despite being chubby and dark skinned, was able to find someone who liked them as they were. Unfortunately, she continues to call herself fat, and self disses.

This is the reason for a 1 star.

But the translation is really good, so I give it 2 stars. If people don't care too much about ^, then it's a good read.

I would have to see some more positive reviews, in order for me to consider reading more.

Reading the reviews here, I knew there will be lots of bodyshaming. I just intended to ignore it if the story is interesting.

However, the MC is just hopeless. She is easily driven by her emotions or instincts I would say? Her thoughts are contradictory. She doesn't act like a learned person at all.

she intended to flee in the beginning but she should have realized that her plan is impossible in the first place because this is the IMPERIAL harem, not just the rear court of some court official...

But then suddenly... more>> she decides to seduce him because he is handsome and all. Won't that prevent her from fleeing? If the emperor liked you, of course he won't let you disappear.

Anyway, he would never let her go because :

she fall in love with him in chapter 8 which is way TOO FAST, she doesn't know anything about the emperor and she even sensed something weird about him and the empress. Sometimes I feel like she is digging her own grave with her actions. Don't forget that she was supposed to flee in the beginning...

Even after she knew the reason why he was soo affectionate, she still try to gain his affection. He was staring at her with MALICIOUS intentions in a scene what the heck???

I read a lot of novels with the same cliche plot and most of the time, the most unbearable thing is the other characters because their foolishness (with the endless supply of young masters/young miss to face slap) and the r*pey ML but this time... I can't stand the MC because she is extremely s*upid. If she was in a more dark historical novel with twisted characters like tyrannical wang's beloved wife, she would be the cannon fooder imo.

I even think that the empress and the emperor are far more interesting.

Honestly, the plot is more than some petty harem squabbles. The intention of some characters are hard to guess, there is something going on with the background of the original host of the MC's body. Anyway, the MC would have probably deduced a few things if she wasn't trying to find a plan to seduce the emperor in her room for many days and trying to lose weight just to look more pleasing to him. I find her behavior utterly disgusting and s*upid. <<less
