One thing I quite like about this novel is the og protagonist actually having relevance and not just being a side piece of the MC in the same way most Korean novels do. Furthermore, Esteban’s personality is quite unique compared to other og protagonists from other novels since he starts out with many flaws, which we then get to see grow and develop.

Lauren gives off major stalker vibes tho and I don’t appreciate that !

Also, MTL-ing Korean novels is such a pain in the ass, imma just wait for translation... more>> updates but I noticed that there are a few mistakes where Lauren and Doun’s names are switched and the pronouns are incorrect at times making it quite confusing to follow along on who is talking <<less

This novel is not really something new anything like that, but I find it pretty interesting.

The MC of the game Estaban, is someone very unlucky, like the whole world wants to see him suffer, which is ironic, because Estaban is needed to stop the end of the world.

And Out MC who is now Doun, tried to save him for 10+ years in the game, now he even has to save him in reality and make sure he will save the world.

I like how Doun teaches Estaban to value himself and... more>> that it doesn't work fastly, Estaban tries to learn but there are just some things that can't be changed because that's what type of person Estaban is. <<less

tl;dr good to pass time when you're bored it has a disappointing ending tho, at least for me.

This is an enjoyable novel to read on a free time, junk food type Ig, I like how Dowoon teaches Esteban to value himself and that things doesn't work fastly, Esteban tries to learn but there are just some things that can't be changed because that's what type of person Esteban is, the fact that dowoon make Esteban get more friends along the way of their journey warmed my heart and most importantly... more>> I love the idiotic squad interaction! The jokes and sarcasm are funny lol, it's the epitome of keep your enemy under the same blanket or shi

I love dowoon personality, he is like a sly fox and Esteban in the other hand is like an obedient puppy

I'm quite disliking the Northern arc, it's like the tehern arc where dowoon pretend to be evil for Esteban to shine, quite boring tbh but love how esteban get alot of new friend in this arc! Haha

I personally feel that c190-225 writing is quite meh... and I also feel very very disappointed by how the ending is turned out,

it's feel like an open ending, it has some plothole like some I mean alot, start from 1. edeline/lyra death that is not described 2. Don (dowoon impersonator) continuation in his light wizard journey is not described 3. Pendragon family screen time is the same as the emperor even though they're "one of the mystery to solve" 4. the emperor is also not described and only appearances is in the c224 bro barely get screen time even after being glazed multiple time lol 5. dowoon worshipper doesn't make any appearance until the end or they do but I didn't know because of the sh*t MTL (this might be a misunderstanding I'm not really sure if dowoon really has a worshipper)

MC lowkey gives villainey vibes lol. He became a side character in his brother's game. And so he needs to save the protagonist (from dying) so he gets the wish as reward and revive his dead family. The protagonist doesn't wanna go the hero route but he'll die if he doesn't so MC just kinda forces him by almost killing a man infront of him so protagonist had to use his powers and save the man.

For some reason everyone hates the protagonist cause he brings misfortune and death. MC is... more>> really clever and extremely clingy cause he's scared protagonist will die if he takes his eyes off him lmao. The story is really well written so far and Good. (Ch 7)

Okay this story is straight up 10/10! Every single side character is so interesting and so well written, they don't just leave things vague and never talk about it, they bring it up, things unravel as the story unfolds, it all connects and it's so satisfying. The dialogue and interactions all feel so full of life and you just gotta love MC's sass hahaha. In the beginning I kinda found it a tiny bit annoying and even wondered why he talked like that, but the more the story revealed his thoughts and character, the more I started to be charmed by it 🤣.

Esteban (the game protag) and MC have grown so far, I swear they bicker like a married couple sometimes. Esteban is usually like a loyal puppy, always following MC's commands but when MC gets hurt he becomes a feral beast. They are basically inseparable kekeke. (Ch 81) <<less

Great so far! I don't get why there's 1 star ratings. Even though the translation has some places for improvement here and there, but for the story itself it's not at all badly written.

I really love the dynamics between Doun (Dawn?) and Esteban. On the cover, Doun is the one with gold hair and Estaban with black hair.

Doun is cheerful, playful, and mostly easy going, but he's not a good person or a Saint type character. He's manipulative and willing to do anything for his goals, even to the point... more>> of harming others or being self sacrificial. Maybe he can be considered truly good only to Estaban, but even then it's tough love lol.

Meanwhile, Estaban is the original protagonist of a pe*vertedly difficult game. His self esteem has been beaten to the ground due to a lifetime of shitty experiences that he didn't even deserve. He's learning to do better slowly but surely. For the most part, he's very obedient towards Doun except when Doun gets harmed (either by himself or by others). A possessive and protective guy.

Estaban's back story and the plot being set up for him is interesting. Can't wait to see where this goes. <<less

So far it's amazing!!! I'm loving every bit of it, one thing l find idk how to say it, but it feels as though Doun only sees Esteban as a tool to get his wish, but besides all that l love how he also still cares and teaches him how to value his life, there were some funny scenes😭.

Also, can Lauren be shown in moderation, less of her would ve better cause shes kinda idk overly annoying💀l can understand why tho, with her being lonely and spent most of her... more>> time in the castle, but shes getting way out of place when she tried to declare her adventure with the spider and almost exposing Doun.

All in all this is an amazing read🫶l only ever had time to read it on my work breaks, but every minute was worth it, 😭😭💚💚 <<less

I feel like most stories, at least the ones I have read, a lot times forget to develop of their characters besides the me, which kind of makes the story feels like a one-man show because you can’t really appreciate the characters besides the MC.

Is this one of those stories? No. Not at all. One thing that I love about the Extra in a Terminal World is that the author wasn’t afraid to make the MC in the game, Estaben, an admittedly bad (as in overly cowardly and frustrating) character... more>> in the beginning. While he did have some excuses, like being outcasted from the village, it seemed like he ostracized himself first. He was too scared to try to help others because he truly believed he was incapable of doing so. But, he was able to grow from being that kind of person—to someone who isn’t afraid to start a fight to protect the ones (one?) he cares about. His character growth feels so satisfying (at least to me) and makes the time reading it worthwhile alone.

Not just that, I feel the character dynamic between Doun (mc) and Estsben really interesting. Even though it’s nothing new to me, I still really enjoyed how well they understand and trust each other. The unyielding trust that Estaben puts into Doun after he learns that he does not have any ill-intentions against him is just to enjoyable to read. (But I’m just overly glazing because I LOVE Esteban’s character, if that wasn’t obvious 🥺)

my only critic is that I NEED MORE CHAPTERS 😭. Like—I’ve been looking everywhere and I can’t find chapter 113–I know it’s out there, somewhere, and when I if find it 🔪

So overall, if you are debating whether you should read it or not, I say go for it, Trust me, it will NOT feel like you are wasting your time, especially if you like character growth, bromance (a LOT), and a good transmigration to fantasy setting. <<less
