The Duke’s daughter, Leila, has been destined to marry the fifth prince, Oswald, ever since she was a child.
The only person who can truly support him is herself, his fiancé.

That’s why Leila didn’t indulge Oswald any more than necessary, and sometimes gave him a hard time.
Because that was her way of loving him.

―However, Leila’s thoughts did not reach Oswald.

“I’m breaking off my engagement with you, you nagging little b!tch! Instead, I’m taking your sister as my wife!”
“Eh…”

While I appreciate the ultimate fate of our fifth prince, Oswald, the story is pretty hollow. The characters are largely derivative, complex emotions and emotional relationships are distilled to single point “character traits, ” and the author chooses to use mechanical tricks (e.g. multiple POV) to add “depth” and “clarity” rather than, you know, allow a reader to infer based on context.

Worst, in my opinion - and I realize this is my personal problem, since I’ve grown up with this particular Japanese gender role reinforcing crap - is the whole... more>> “I love you because you work hard” schtick. The “hero”, Leila, has zero personality or dreams other than to support her man. Surely to support the ones you love is a positive trait, but when this is literally the entirety of a character’s hopes, dreams, goals, and personality, it’s frustrating as hell. I’m not a fan of the way shojo pushes the idea that an admirable girl is one who subsumes her self in service of others (usually a maaaaan) so... axe, meet grinder.

I know this wasn’t intended as more than simple entertainment, so I’m guilty of trying to find meaning in mental junk food. I will note that it’s easy to read, and there are some fun moments. I’m definitely a fan of sisters - meaning the sisterhood of women in general - supporting each other. This story provides a good dose of that: I liked the flabbergasted response when a man comes to realize that his status ain’t all that and that women aren’t falling over themselves to jettison their loved ones for a mediocre man. That part? Way satisfying. <<less

It said comedy, and it had me laughing my rear off, 5 stars.

This was just a joy to read.

First off the translation flows very well, truly difficult for comedy. So a big thumbs up to the translator.

... more>> Second all the characters contribute to the comedy. Leila, Sophina, Oswald and even Alex create a wonderful comedic atmosphere. When they do things it's a surprise it's funny, and it's unexpected.

Third, the plot is well done. It's an excellent vehicle to showcase the Zanniness of the characters. From start to finish it surprises and astonishes.

Bottom Line: Well Worth The Read. <<less

Very interesting so far, and the translation is pretty great too. The pacing is good and leaves me in anticipation. It's pretty good. Four stars for now until I see more of the story unfold.

an easygoing read. Fun with little substance. Just plain junkfood but the sweeter kind. I like the sister relationship but it of kind of an obsessed fan rather than an actual sister. The the little sister and the ex fiance's relationship behind the scenes is pretty dark. Though maybe after seeing her sister die so many times maybe she has a fractured mind? Idk.

the romance between the FL and ML (?) was just a sidenote. But since this is such a short story I can understand.

Very fun story. The first part is translated (8 chapters of the total 42 chapters as of 7/17/22) and is mostly a complete story, but leaves on an obvious cliffhanger that continues in the rest of the story. So the reviews marked "complete" aren't actually complete since they're going off an incomplete translation for a story that's still ongoing.

To be fair to the translator, when they translated it that was as far as the story had been written. If they had waited another few weeks they would've seen more chapters... more>> pop up, but there was a two months or so gap between the story arc titled "Prologue" (first 8 chapters) and then "The Real Prologue" (next 7 chapters before the main story) parts of the story.

It's a fun little story that takes your expectations and plays with them. Leila is the main character... except she really isn't because it's really her little sister Sopheena (yes, that's her name... I can understand why the translator changed it to the more standard sounding Sophina). She's the main driving force behind most things in the story and the parts from her PoV are way more illuminating as to what the real situation is.

The 8 translated chapters are well worth reading, even if they're actually just the false prologue. It's complete enough by itself. Hopefully the translator will return to do the rest because IMO they're well worth doing.

There's also a manga currently ongoing that has covered the 8 chapters in its first 4 chapters, with the rest of the story expected to be covered in upcoming chapters. It goes under the name 『最愛のお姉様が悪役令嬢だったので、神が定めた運命(シナリオ)に抗います』 (My most beloved older sister was the villainess, so I'll fight against the fate (scenario) decreed by god).

An interesting take on the 'Villainess Noble Girl' genre. The MC, Leila, is the villainess.
Spoiler

However, her younger sister Sophina is the transmigrator who is actively trying to change Leila's fate.

[collapse]

I loved the relationship between Leila and Sophina. But the amount of death flags the MC has is ridiculous.
Spoiler

Even after she married Alex, there's still a chance for another country to invade and for Alex to commit su*cide?

[collapse]

4 stars for how original this story is.

The first thing that I thought after reading this was: Sophina was so da*n scary. But thankfully, she wasn't a bad woman (except for Oswald, maybe?). She devoted to make her sister, Leila, happy at all cost and we got to know her reason near the end of the story.

Note: contain a major spoiler of the story

Spoiler

Surprisingly, this was another otome game story where Sophina was the transmigrator. Leila was Sophina's favorite character but she didn't know why but the author really determined to make Leila a villainess. So many death flags leading to Leila's demise and Sophina frantically tried to prevent the death flags from happening one after another without Leila knowing.
