A Frontier Lord called, Faust, was someone reincarnated from modern Japan. In a different world where the concept of chastity between men and women was completely opposite, he was raised as a rare male knight.

Because he had the value of his previous life, he spent his days hurting his c*otch. Queen’s almost naked light clothes and the s*xual harassment from the big-breasted Duchess, and many more, were the cause of it. But once he appeared on the battlefield, he performed heroic activities, and was regarded as someone special.

Together with another bodyguard, Faust accompanied the second princess Valliere, as her counselor, in her first campaign, which was to exterminate bandits.

However, an unexpected tragedy and ordeal were what awaited him in the village where he needed to get rid of bandits…!

This was the start of the heroic story of a male knight, upholding his “honor” in such a world!

Honestly this a bit of and odd one, the start and premise of the story makes it appear like it is going to be a smut story with a lot of s*xual content but instead there is next to none and mostly it's just about women drooling over or teasing the MC while he tries to hide his erection.

The setting is a reversal world where all the guys are weak femboys with feminine looks and clothings while the MC was raised by a heretical woman (his mom) because she refused... more>> to have other children since she loved the dad and thus decided to raise the MC to be the lord. This somehow made him turn into a hulk of a man and the only male knight + lord in the kingdom but because he's a man or cause he's the MC he's the strongest.

MC while strong is also a h**ny monkey that get's an erection all the time with a heavy fetish for big b**bs while also being a sort of weak willed beta otaku virg*n who is heavily influenced by his previous beta JP virg*n life. He's also showcased as not very intelligent but then goes all sherlock all of a sudden.

All in all there are quite a few contradictions but a lot of it seemingly stems from the fact that because he was a JP in his previous life he is all about being filial to his mother which means that he has to keep his family name, lordship and land but because he's a low ranked noble he needs someone to marry into his family or someone of a lower rank as his wife. Now here comes the crux and sort of center of the story from the start of the story we are told that the Queen, the crown princess and the duchess who is 3rd in line to the throne (or actually 2nd) all want to marry the MC but because they know he holds such an importance on his title and territory they know they can't make him their husband since they are so far above him in nobility that he would marry into their family and his own would be absorbed into theirs (or well they can easily force the MC to marry him but they don't wanna make him sad) because of this they all gang together to make him their lover however to do that they need to get the okey from the MC's future wife.

Thus the MC who is always h**ny and loves big b**bs who all three have wants to quickly get married but is unable to because the kingdoms three most powerful women are controlling the MC from behind the scene. At the same time the MC is the advisor of the incompetent 2nd princess who is a 14 year old loli.

Spoiler

Eventually to make their plan of becoming the MC's lover they sort of force the MC to become engaged and eventually marry the 2nd princess since they think she's easy to control while the MC is very much against this since the 2nd princess is a flat chested loli and not someone he loves and only respects. He doesn't have much of a choice, however this sort of backfires since even though the MC knows this is a world with polygamy because of the lack of men and was raised in this world for over 20 years his thinking is still like a man from JP. So when for instance the crown princess tries to become his lover and sleep with him he declines because he has to be loyal to his fiancee. He also can't sleep with his fiancee because she is a tiny loli at barely 140 cm while he is close to 200 cm with a horse D over 25 cm so he would destroy her.

[collapse]

This is pretty much the focus for the first 50 or so chapters and still ongoing by ch 200 though some progress is made but a lot of focus is around the fact that the MC wants to get laid but stays a virg*n because of different reasons like him not being able to get married because of interference, eventually getting a loli fiancee who he can't marry because his D is to big for her (he has to sleep with her when they get married), refusing to get a lover because he's loyal to his fiancee and sort of against polygamy and so on.

Outside of that it's a decent story focused around a matriarichal world with a bit of fighting and intrigues. All in all it feels like a bit of a parody story on beta male protagonist where the MC is a super popular macho knight (not knowing he's popular) with women throwing themselves at him left and right but for whatever reason they are declined while the MC has a raging boner most of the time and forces to wear a chasity belt to hide his erection wanting to push down any woman with big b**bs but because he's a beta through and through inside he can't act on it and instead just stay's a virg*n forever.

In the end it's a decent story thats probably around a 3.5 but I'll give it a 4 just because outside of the constant c*ckblocking this is a decent read. <<less

First, fair warning, I came from the manga which as I write this has 3.1 chapters. I skimmed mostly to where the manga currently left off.

So, I try not to do this too often, but I'm mostly reviewing this in response to the two negative reviews. Mostly because, as a man, I suspect one of the reviewers might be female based on the statement about erections and a man lacking control over them. It's an odd statement to make as a negative blow against a story with a title that... more>> obviously tells you it's going to be about s*xual innuendo. I mean the title has virg*n KNIGHT in it.

It also strikes me as a statement that clearly ignored the reason the MC is constantly aroused. In this world, because women are in charge, the author chose to have the women often wear scantily clad clothing. (Not sure why because in the so-called patriarchy of the real world, men don't even walk around with scantily clad clothing on.) Also, factor in that MC is again, a virg*n. Also factor in that unlike other isekais and so-called gender-role-reversal stories, MC is not a weak, feminine male written like a female other than when the author arbitrarily wants to write the MC as having male qualities. No, MC is written as pretty masculine or according to current year trends with a whole lot of "toxic masculinity." Also, factor in finally, that the women are purposefully and also, sometimes at the same time, unknowingly seducing MC. Especially one that tends to sexually harass MC. Touching, feeling, etc. Which leads me to the belief that the person I'm talking about who made the statement about controlling erections don't know that men's bodies react based on physical contact until we mentally try to do something about it. I don't want to deviate too far into real world issues, but it's one of the reasons a lot of people wrongfully think that when a man gets r*ped by a woman that if he had an erection he must've wanted it. No, our bodies can respond to physical stimulation even if we're unconscious. Get it? It's odd as I said before, because to some degree, this is the same for women as well.

In any case, back to he title. Again this has virg*n KNIGHT in it. That should tell you something. The entire story's gimmick is going to be around MC's interaction with women he won't take seriously for whatever reason or another. So, it's obviously going to be about MC's repressed s*xual needs. Full stop.

This also has harem in the tag. So, if you're not into women chasing after one man in a story. Look away. If you're not into a lot of the tropes that come with harems such as a dense MC for whatever reason, etc. Look away.

With that said, everything in the story is set up as a way to justify the author's use of the gimmick. Which is, MC is a unique male in a land where all of the men are the equivalent of bishounen men, which the women of the land prefer. "Toxic masculine" type males with big muscles, who can hold their own in a fight, are tall in stature, those types of guys aren't well liked. So, most of the story to include political intrigue, etc. Revolves around MC dodging advances of higher level female nobility because he doesn't want to lose control over his land and MC and the youngest princess trying to keep him in her employ.

In other words, as I implied above, the author appears to be deconstructing the usual gender-role-reversal stories where the male MC is often written as weak willed with feminine traits. In this story, the author seems to be invoking the idea that females are inherently attracted to masculine traits despite what society may guiding them to be attracted to. Whenever the female POVs are portrayed, they discuss this contradiction between their attraction of MC, for whatever reason, and the fact their society overwhelmingly find feminine men more attractive. So, there's a little bit of the author playing around with the gender-role-reversal dynamic and culture with those POVs. These are often done in flash backs and some of them introduce interesting things that could be explored about the world's culture, however, these intriguing moments are overshadowed by the author returning to the gimmicky story telling.

There are, of course, the usual Japanese Harem MC traits such as "OMG, he's the most super kind man I've ever seen, etc." So, you can't get away from that. You're on Novel Updates, a LN and WN site, so you shouldn't be surprised.

As far as writing style goes. Yes, this has multiple POV switches as I and others have said. Many of them chapter long POVs that are not the MC. Most of the first few chapters are setup, exposition, and explaining the world through flashbacks and character interactions. Often times, a lot of information is repeated because it's an event in the past recalled by a different character. Instead of the author summarizing it and moving on to a different point in these POVs, the author double's down, often to re-enforce MC's past achievements and the fact it has astonished the women around him. If not that, it serves to re-enforce already known character relationships such as the distance and rivalry between the first and second princesses. Due to this, it causes the plot to crawl along at a slow pace.

The repetition is something I've found to be common with a lot of LNs. In this one, as with others, the repetition can and does happen in the same chapter. A character will repeat the same thing in two paragraphs for some odd reason.

Unfortunately, while the author doesn't write the male MC isekai'd into a gender-role-reversal society as suddenly just a female with man parts, the author does tend to write some of the female characters like males or I should say how males are often perceived by entertainment. Especially young males. While the one person complained the MC couldn't control his erection, they didn't complain that many of the female characters when in their POV are obsessed with s*x. Especially the second princess' night commander.

So, while I praised the author for not writing a feminine-male hybrid MC and writing a masculine MC in this type of situation versus other lazy authors, this author took the lazy route writing the female characters. They're all fine with sexually harassing the MC. Replace them with males who are fine with sexually harassing females trope. Two female characters even talk about about grapeing the MC, etc. As I said, writing some of the females how entertainment tends to portray men in current year, as sex-starved-beasts-who-can't-control-themselves.

Either way, I gave it 3.5 for writing the MC as a not a man-woman hybrid. As I write this, it's only at chapter 12 on the translation site. As I said, a very slow crawl because by then the story just got to the second princess' first combat campaign, or at least the beginning, which will have a lasting impact on the rest of the story. <<less

The reversed gender roles seemed promising at first, but the execution is poorly done. So far all this premise manages to do is:

    • Provide an excuse to repeatedly talk about the MC's painful erection (because he has less control over his pen*s than a twelve year old and can't stop getting erections just from seeing women with breasts).
    • Prevent the MC from having s*x (because he has to stay chaste or he won't be able to get married).
    • Body-shame the MC (because he's too tall and muscular and almost everyone in his country finds that disgusting).
I'm being harsh above--there are some small tidbits that are interesting to think about: for example, if men really were only one tenth of the population, then naturally there wouldn't be any male monks as the population couldn't afford to lose the additional reproductive capacity to a vow of chastity. These small thought experiments are mildly interesting but are also far and few between unfortunately.

Now on to the MC himself: he is incredibly reactive. Most of the time he gets dragged around by the royal family without any real goals other than: "I want to be a good lord for my territory!" Maybe later that changes, but I'm not holding my breath. It's worth noting that the tags above explicitly do not include romance, so don't expect the MC to make any progress with the copious women around him.

As a side note: it's annoying how often the POV changes--not because it's confusing, but because the changes are almost always an excuse to repeat the previous chapters ad nauseam.

All said, the character development done through flashbacks falls flat, the events come off as random and forced, and the work is all around mediocre and boring.

oh, this one is good to wait reading list,
well TLDR : it's just reversed traditional gender role adding heavy matriarchy role, with buffed male MC

as I only read till ch 18, as tag suggest, even on very first chapter is comedy with dense MC, it depict gore and cruelty (of war) nicely and like many medieval times story, you raid a village, you kill the women and kidnap the man (remember reversed traditional gender role), the women who defend the village is killed brutally, also
Spoiler

some minor chara who close to the fMC die which not really big deal, but count as trigger for fMC (can't call her heroine yet) to become better leader, is served as reminder that in war you close friend can die anytime

[collapse]

i just in binge to read about buffed MC which their power is from their hardwork, not some cheat given by some deity, and some comedy in between, political and war/gore aspect is just an addon spice

Having written two Reverse Morality World stories myself (Flip the script and I Was Summoned by a Supervillainess), I have seen a number of takes on the RMW setting. This one uses the 1:9 ratio of males to females to make men more valuable than women.

Goddamn did he crank it up to 11.

I will admit, I suspect the brutality and casual way they treat the death of females do be quite an interesting take and I actually do approve. I can see women getting that vicious towards one another. Frankly,... more>> there is no need, as one man can knock up nine women easily. However, if your goal is to preserve your genetic line, you would consider female lives to be not only worthless but a threat.

This isn't an Isekai, but it feels like it should have been written as one. I get the spin and I don't have an objection. The internal logic is sound and the world setting doesn't drive the plot, but does affect it. Anny complaints I have about the setting are more along the lines of, "I wouldn't have done it that way.", but aren't logically inconsistent.

Female drives are still present, but just far more aggressive, so while society may want males to be femboys, biology drives women to want to bang muscle daddies. I used such a trope myself in FTS. Women wanted to marry the "proper" femboys, but wanted to f*ck the muscle dudes. So, society slut-shamed the men who were more masculine while sexualizing them at the same time. Some people in the comments complain that makes no sense.

Sorry, but that's how it is in the real world. We see "tradwives" as who we want to marry, but want to f*ck the women who look super sexy and call them sluts. I suspect people complaining about this aspect of the story don't like to admit how close to reality it is.

I run into that often in my own comment section. I keep having to point out, "Doesn't make any sense? Well, in the REAL WORLD..." People might see that it is a Reverse Morality World, but some people cannot grasp the concept. They are so stuck in their ways that even when you say, "ALL I DID WAS FLIP THE GENDER ROLES", they cannot square that circle.

Overall, good story. Liked it. Wish there was more, but it is self-contained.

Would love to do a Colab with the author sometime. <<less

And yet another story that can’t let go of the “isekai” tag, while all it accomplishes is to force the reader into the mindset of a Japanese virg*n 14 year old boy with a big b**bs fetish...

But well, let’s see what else this WN has to offer.

First and foremost: POV changes.
Seriously, given the amount of POV changes, I’d have suggested the author just tell the story 3rd person instead. I believe in the first 10 chapters alone we entered 6 or more different POVs. As a rule of thumb, you can probably assume that every character that gets a name, no matter how minor, also has his/her own POV parts.

Otherwise, it’s your typical medieval fantasy focused on politics, conflicts, royalty etc, with some gory scenes in between. And can’t forget the cliché comedy elements, mostly boiling down to the MC’s painful erections and stale innuendos.
The setting could have been interesting, but struggles under the missing maturity of its cast.
Spoiler

If I had to judge it, probably the ~9 year old girl the MC takes as an apprentice is the most mature acting character in this story so far.

[collapse]

In conclusion:

This is just another average story unable to part with the ever typical WN clichés. Something you can read if you are bored out of your mind with nothing else to do.
Otherwise, nothing you’ll miss out on if you don’t.
