I really enjoyed reading the story.. The main story (modern) is a slice of life, depicting the leads' romantic trajectory of "childhood swethearts".

All in all, I really like the stories. I wish I can read more about them.. The romance is also very sweet~ 🍭

My personal rating system is (1 star - did not finish, 2 stars - finished but hated it etc). I had to stop when the ML wants to make sure the FL has no independence to keep her from being greedy (his thought process is even “make sure she never makes money or is successful at anything”) 🥴 I understand that it’s stemming from their past together but I guess this just isn’t my cup of tea!

I read the raws and the novel is super duper cute and worth reading! There's fluff and substance both; you don't have to think too much while reading but it has enough depth if you want good plot and characterization. MC is a cat spirit and has a lot to learn about being human. It's very heartwarming to see her growth and eventual romance with the ML, who used to be always bound by duty but now can consider other things too.

The tennis parts are kind of killing me though. It's both unconvincing and unnecessary for the plot. Sort of feels shoehorned in for the sake of having a character dominating a field at an international level to match other C-novels.

How should I put this? Be it the FL or the ML, I don't have much of a good impression with them. But somehow, I don't hate them, especially the FL. The FL was selfish, domineering, and she's definitely an FL that I wouldn't ever like. But I can't really hate her, perhaps it's because of her naivety, her lack of knowledge about emotions, her poor social skills, and because although she's not good, she doesn't do evil as well. Also, she's cold-hearted, yes. But then again, it's in line... more>> with her nature as a demon. She's been a demon for hundred of years but has just become a human so we can't really expect her to have a lot of human emotions, right? The ML, on the other hand, was very prejudiced against the FL at the beginning, I don't like him for that. However, later on, I was thinking, "did he really strictly guard the FL because he doesn't trust her or just because he doesn't want her away from him?" I think it's the latter lol.

And I read a comment saying that the character development was flat. No. The FL, from having too poor of social skills, made a lot of friends. She also started being considerate of others' emotions. The ML, from being abstinent gradually became black-bellied and passionate. Heh. How he carefully planned his steps on breaking the taoist rules of not getting married was really meticulous. I can see a black bellied Taoist master in there lol.

Also, I like their families. They are very supportive and warm. I love how they are childhood sweethearts so everyone is already expecting them to be lovers and is very supportive of them (except the bitter dad of the FL lol). I like how the ML's dad, although he's not really a good father, was not s*upid to be swayed by the stepmom's instigation and he's also very fond of the FL.

Also, I love and yearn for a friendship like theirs. It's solid, warm, and although it looks like they are always at odds with each other, in fact they are very caring and thoughtful. I don't know if they have some CP fans but I think pairing them (the FL and any of the two— Gu Jialing or Xu Shou) is quite offensive. They are more than friends but less than lovers. And I think that's very beautiful. Such pure feelings are the best.

Lastly, I also like the side story. Although I am quite disappointed that the modern day ended with their wedding and we weren't able to see them having kids, the alt world was also quite good. The romance is kinda similar with the modern day plot (I mean, how the ML breaks from his restraints hehe) but we were able to see more fluffs (like literally) since the FL was able to transform into a cat.

Overall, I quite enjoyed reading it. Thanks for the translators since I wasn't able to find an MTL version where there is the side story. 8.5/10! <<less

The concept sounds interesting, but the story is just bland. It's not a bad story per se, it's just nothing really happens. It says drama but I dont really see much of it if any at all.

The main characters isn't all that interesting either. Miaomiao is mildly interesting, but the novel gotta have the most boring ML i've read about for a long while. Hell their families and some of the side characters is more interesting than the Main characters.

Good premise, but boring execution and plot. the characterisation of the MC and ML is flat and rigid. For example, MC is extremely lazy and similar to a cat, while ML is responsible and ascetic. I know they were adults and MC had even lived for several hundred years already and they have set personalities, but their personalities were boring as hell. MC was so amazingly lazy and because she was a cat previously, she keeps wanting to act like one and return to her og form. This in addition... more>> to her lack of genuine emotions (she is kind of like a psychopath...), it just does not make her a character I can really root or feel for. Her lack of emotional connection to her parents (she liked them for sure, but love? Nope) and friends was just dis-nerving.

I skipped to the end and they somehow end up back in their own time (disappointing but fair enough, since MC and ML never really integrated into the modern era well anyway) and MC and ML somehow end up getting married, which I just cannot comprehend because their relationship had always been platonic and more importantly, they seem to have no romantic feelings for each other. Or any feelings in general really. No spark, no connection. Which to me, feels forced and abrupt. I can't see MC developing feelings or love, nor can I see ML giving up his general sense of righteousness and lowering himself to be with a demon, who he used to regularly hunt/kill. <<less

Very cute, lighthearted and funny.

The FL is hilariously simple, straightforward and innocent. The ML is devoted and doting, he is a simp, a stoic one, but a simp nonetheless.

I loved the bird, he was such a nice comic character.

There is zero drama, only fluff. Perfect to relax and smile
