Spoiler
- The sect the MC joined in known for it's righteousness and benevolence, the author made a point about this. In the sect selection scene, we also see that the sects doesn't hesitate to discard talented individuals with low morals. Yet the sect selection part only consist of two test - a march up the mountain test and a spirit root test. Surely if you hold morality to such a high standard, you would have it as a part of test? The sect's test seemed inadequate to screen for moral individuals. Indeed, couple of chapters in you have a scene where the sect master killed a high cultivation disciples because he committed a heinous crime. So the sect just threw away like decades of nurturing this disciple because their screening process was shit.
- When the MC's cultivation dropped, he said to himself and was confirmed that there's nothing wrong with his body and he could just re-cultivate with little difficulty. But he then immediately self-exiled himself to the outer sects because "people didn't think he deserved to be in the inner sect with his low cultivation". Surely he could just stay and re-cultivate even faster because of his talent?

Honestly, the premise of the novel is not bad but I hate it.
