Randomly, out of nowhere, the author used very forced logic and reasoning to explain how Bebe's mother isn't actually her real mother despite them looking so alike (a coincidence), and that Bebe's real mother is the dead duchess, making her the real daughter. This makes me think the author originally intended it that way but couldn't figure out how to make Bebe's mother the real duchess when she and the duke aren't supposed to recognize each other, so she decided to go down this super weird storyline instead. Oh and randomly out of nowhere Bebe also gains a twin brother???? All of these happened in the span of a few chapters so it was really jarring to read.

I don't like Harris, and I can understand why Bebe doesn't like her. But the duke who has been her father all along suddenly becomes cold to her and abandons her because he discovers that Harris may be a fake daughter. Or rather, he has known all along that she's likely a fake daughter, but Bebe's arrival is the trigger that makes him want to get rid of Harris. But Harris is five years old. I suspect she may be older than that mentally because she is very mature and cunning for her age (and also because Bebe points out that Harris is way too eloquent for her age), but treating a child so coldly just because she isn't their biological daughter leaves a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. However, if it's any consolation (?), Bebe's real brother and sister don't seem to like her and prefer Harris so Harris isn't completely isolated in the duchy :/ but this is also equally weird lol, 2/3 of her real siblings dislike Bebe.
