It's finally here! Reincarnated series that skip the whole bullsh*t childhood phase and straight to the interesting part.

1st chapter, describing what his situation are, what he's doing in his life until 40 with no bullsh*t context about his daily life when he's in baby/childhood phase. In every reincarnation series, that phase is always the same and in my opinion, it's becoming a template and it's just too slow for the story to pick up and the only thing worth mentioning in that phase is that if there's something going on,... more>> but this novel doing it right. 10/10 will read it.. <<less

(*Will edit review when more chapters are translated*)

The cover does not do justice to this gem of a story. Somebody go change that!

But on to the review:

Our MC, Naruan was reincarnated as a nobody in a fantasy world. Instead of fighting the demon king or going on an adventure or enrolling to a magic school or making a harem... He gets a job being an instructor to kid henchmen in an evil organization. And instead of being super OP, he survived for 40 odd years using clever antics... more>> and out of the box ideas.

Due to the layout of esnj blog, I happened to start reading from Chapter one pt 2 (before reading th prologue and c1pt1). The initial POV of the three kids sounded like the story is going on a dark path. BUT HOLY CRAP! I never laughed so hard since reading Sun Knight. <<less

F**KING AMAZING!!!!!!! A MUST READ, this is a novel that take ridiculous to a different level the comedy is amazing and the MC has a "dark" view of the world compared to other novels altough it would be better to call it realistic. The MC has absolutely no cheats, he gets reincarnated in a world with magic and swords and he is capable of using neither so he needs to rely on his wits to survive. You get 4 Povs that get the story to be hilarous

Refreshing and brilliant with great humor. MC was thrown into a new world with absolute no cheats, buffs ot ability to use inner energy/magic, yet with hardwork and the clever use of his brains he studies the arts of fighting and analyzes people to survive. The lack of background also provides more room to wiggle and develop the story later.

Reading from MC's pov, he appears inferior to others (especially his students with insane cheats), but he is not. If you actually pay attention to the details,

Spoiler

He spended enough time to be more adept than anyone at magic so he can counter it, he lays foundations and sets traps on every possible battle ground to gain advantage and easier take control of the situation, he helps the organization flourish with his intellect, he developed a survival-above-all instinct and created his own art of the sword to cover his no cheats weakness.

he was able to make it pass age 40 in a dangerous environment where he is surrounded by "supermen", made a name for himself and his opponents don't look down on him.

Regarding MC's villainy, the story is based on him trying to survive by becoming a villain so if you are uncomfortable with the child abuse no matter the circumstances, then it's better to not touch this novel at all. But if you do try to see the circumstances,

Spoiler

He trains kids for an EVIL organization, in which there will be no doubt kill or be killed situations. If MC is not firm (which he once was and the kids didn't listen to him at all), then he is of no use as an instructor, and he is already kinda useless for other purposes because no magic no cheats to begin with.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Furthermore, before being selected by an instructor, the kids already received training, and they know what kind of stuff they will have to face in such organization. They have their own motives and are by no means weak. Heck, they even tried to kill him from the start. Even if it's just for his own good, MC taught them every trick and attitude needed to survive, and the bat (s) he uses to beat people are enchanted so the beaten's body gets stronger afterward.

So far the novel has been well done for its theme, 5/5 from me at c4 part2. <<less

An amusing story about how a high ranking member of a dark and mysterious criminal empire accidentally trains the future hero (s?). So far it is refreshing to read a story about MC in fantasy world without the cliches such as genius baby and trope filled waifus. The main character is 40 years old, and uses his brains to survive in a world where he had little talent.

Wanted to give it a 4.5, but went for a 5 since it's the closest value. Seriously, this is a hidden gem. It's so freaking hilarious. The first few chapters (well, more like first few chapter parts, as every chapter is split into 6 to 13 parts due to their length) weren't that good, but after that it took off and made you laugh almost every time.

He's extremely weak, the most untalented individual alive in terms of natural disposition (can't even use magic artifacts that anyone are supposed to be... more>> able to use, since everyone has at least some mana). Yet he's also just about the strongest individuals alive in terms of cunning, knowledge and skill. He can kill most people before they can even defend themselves and with his bat he's almost impossible to kill if he gets to scheme a bit. He's got hundreds of different plans and tens of escape paths. One of the most careful and hardworking MCs I've ever read about. He's not really evil, more like "gray", yet he's also, in a way, one of the most demonic beings in the world. He has probably made almost every single major power (and most humans that has come into contact with him) in the world despise him and neither heaven nor hell will receive him after he dies. He actually thus far scammed 2 of the most powerful beings, a certain demon king and a certain goddess into making an unprofitable contract for their side, let's not even mention just how he beat the crap out of the goddess as soon as she was summoned...

His iron bat is one of the most powerful demonic weapons in existence, and in terms of just how demonic its application is, it's the most horrible weapons in the world that would make even demon king shudder and piss their pants. You can't faint, your body wants the effects of the enhancements (you can't get hurt no matter how much you are hit, you just get healthier), but you will feel pain beyond your deepest nightmares, enough to make you want to die.

This is the tale of a demonic instructor who considers a day of 4 hours sleep and 20 hour studying to be normal and will make even the most powerful beings in the world turn pale and shudder as if they were swimming in an ocean of ice. As a matter of fact, many of the strongest people were brought up by him, instructed by him, to be who they are, fellow people who walk the gray line of necessity before anything. Justice? Evil? What is that? is it tasty? nothing is ever truly white or black, only gray truly exists, is his teachings. And I actually agree, and has done so way before this novel, no one ever does something for no benefit, no matter if the benefit is something material or something immaterial (such as feelings of contentment for having done something good).

All in all, I loved this novel, it is great. Some people might not like it that much though, his perspective is pretty dark/negative and he always expects the worst outcome, but the narrations are hilarious because of it. <<less

I've read a lot of web novels and surprisingly this is good.. I'm not really fond of evil protagonists but the MC here is in the grey-zone so it's tolerable for me & as of yet even if he's in a evil organization he's not really that evil, I'll try to describe this with as few words as possible...

Hero/villain theme..
Cheat disciples..
Good humor..
Behind-the-scene schemes
Oblivious MC (I think)
Neutral/evil MC
Spoiler

Yandere disciple (probably/hopefully if I'm not mistaken)
BAT!!
METAL BAT!!!

The novel about misunderstanding is always wonderful. Especially with this kind of relatable people, overthinking is the way human should be. So that we won't do something we can never taking back again. Totally recommended, it's funny.

This story was really good... at first.
The first 4 chapters were great.
5 stars easily for the first 4.

Unfortunately, after the 4th chapter, the MC basically becomes a side character and we're forced to deal with a cast of annoying side characters. There are a few entertaining moments in chapter 5 onwards, but they're FEW and far between.
At best I'd rate all the chapters after 4 at a 2.

In short, read to chapter 4 of the story and then just stop. Going any further will ruin this story.

This is pure mayhem and a nice refreshing take on reincarnation. Every chapter never fails to make me laugh.

It's funny seeing the main character bs his way to survival and essentially brainwash the kids into becoming his future life insurance. The kids have personality and the story is also told from multiple pov which adds an interesting element to the narrative.

Love it!

So good!!! Usually, reincarnation in fantasy world novels start with the MC as a young child/new born. They ALWAYS have cheats, sometimes unaware of what a cheat like existence they are. And they often come out with stuff they 'invented' using the knowledge from our world. Completely different here though. The MC here though is already 40, no cheats. And he's no Hero, he's the villain! Calling him a villain is actually an exaggeration. He's more like the mob characters who MC's blow away at the beginning. He's the instructor... more>> in charge of rookies aka a petty official in his group (his words, not mine).

The novel is really funny, at least until now. An important thing for those putting of reading the novel cos of the low number of chapters. The TLer has mentioned that each chapter is actually an arc, and each part is basically a chapter. So yeah, the so called parts are pretty long. So don't miss out on this gem just cos you think there's too little to read. <<less

A lighthearted bundle of wacky and hilarious antics. There is also an interesting story to it as well. The protagonist can really fake it better than Ainz from Overlord! But you know, funnier.

I also want to add that pretty much everything involving "the bat" is so crazy hilarious, its hard to not absolutely love it!

Small spoiler:

The demonic metal bat... it has an ego, countless enchantments, curses and all that stuff... It has an ego too, its a sadist, and later a masochist... and apparently has the voice of a little girl!? It had me laughing and screaming what the f*ck so much, but I loved every line

This is amazing. It's funny and the MC is not OP but survives using his wits. He does not say things about justice and hesitate to kill. He is also not an evil person who strives to destroy the world. The MC is more like a grey person who is both good and bad. The story is well written and if you want something different from the norm then here it is.

No, there is justice in this world. There is evil as well. Justice is to have that demonic stick disappear, and evil is that stick itself. That is the weapon of the devil. No, that is something that not even the demon king would dare use.

So, what else can be said about this novel exept it was a hilarous one!
I love reaction novel, and this one is so good. Each part is paired with a reaction part (POV of his students for exemple). And I like it when an action can have many POV depending the person. So much comedy. 5/5

A promising story but I don't like the comedy and child abuse very much. Additionally the MC being a powerless teacher is also kind of a boring setting. It's like, at first you think "wow how refreshing a different perspective!" But after a while you kind of realize why authors use a hero as the MC and not his powerless teacher. Nobody wants to read about a loser after all

The word "cliche" or "mainstream "does not exist in this novel. 1.) Over powered protagonist? F**k no! He's the exact opposite, instead he uses his brain and his wits to fill up that missing gap. Not like some MC that dies and gains a whole new sh*t of powers thanks to some God. 2.) Does the MC think about other's and the world's well-being? F**k no! He treats "morale" and "justice" insignificantly. He practically believes that justice is seen in one's eye not in society's eye and I love that... more>> philosophy. 3.) Do I love this novel? F**k yes! <<less

I've read the only other review with a lower than 5 stars rating and completely disagree with it. The protagonist, while weaker than everyone, overturns common logic and outsmarts them at every turn creating a hard working protagonist that overcomes adversity and a crippling handicap. He's not the strongest, but the weakest, capable of outplaying the strongest.

My criticism for this series is different. I believe that story is fine, my problem is the writing itself is rather amateurish.

I often lose track of who's talking in this series and... more>> it can really be annoying. The author doesn't know how to use dialog tags... You know "he said/she said". He just has dialog and we're supposed to guess who's talking.

My second criticism is about the changing perspectives. There are often times where the author will replay the same scene over and over again but from the perspective of different people. It gets really annoying when a long speech gets repeated over and over. <<less

If you don't like antiheroes, greedy main characters, or talking metal bats that have the power to send their wielder's victims down the road to masochism then this novel is not for you. If you have no problems with these three things then you might have a good chance of finding this as a good read.
