He was a puppy. After turning human, he was filthy all over. Not only couldn’t he put clothes on properly, but his two furry ears that wouldn’t retract were also sticking out. Pretty and clingy, he was still running a fever all over when he was thrown out.
Dan Zhaoye came back from fighting at the arena at night and saw the puppy he’d picked up had turned into a human, clueless about everything, trotting over eagerly and calling him “Daddy.”
The rugged man was built strong, fighting for money in the underground boxing ring. Dark-skinned and quiet, even a single glance from him looked fierce. Doudou tried to please him, snuggling up and hugging him: “Daddy…”
Dan Zhaoye met those pretty eyes, and the curses that rushed to his throat were forcefully swallowed back down.
Dan Zhaoye tried to abandon him in the snow but failed. The little fool chased after him barefoot, crying and shouting. Anyone who didn’t know better would really think he was abandoning a child.
Doudou was taken back home to be raised. Originally planning to just feed him leftovers to keep him alive, who knew Doudou was clingy to a bizarre degree!
He’d follow him to the toilet, follow him to the construction site, and cry pitifully by the side during night fights at the arena, terrified he’d get beaten to death. The poor puppy couldn’t eat this or that, and when upset, his heart would hurt and his eyes would go dark—a living, breathing sickly child.
Doudou sensed his disgusted gaze and clung on: “I’m easy to raise, I’ll just eat your leftovers.” When I grow up later, I’ll nurse you, serve you, get you a pretty wife, and have big, fat sons for you.”
Dan Zhaoye looked at his skinny arms and legs and laughed: “You? Get lost.”
Later, Dan Zhaoye, now a celebrity Muay Thai fighter, won the championship and took the golden belt, becoming the master of a million-dollar prize.
They say he used to be an underground boxer, even did time for working for the bosses up top, covered in blue and purple scars, with that thuggish, intimidating aura.
