In Yun City, there are rumors about Young Master Huo being temperamental and extreme. He is cold-hearted and will kick any woman away if they get close to him.

Little Fairy Wen was at loggerheads with Young Master Huo in her previous life.

Little Fairy Wen: “Can I suck up to you?”

“Scram.”

That was expected. It would only be strange if Little Fairy Wen could succeed.

Not long later—

“Young Master Huo brought Little Fairy Wen to the countryside to watch shooting stars.”

“Young Master Huo beat his love rival up so badly the latter is in the hospital.”

Little Fairy Wen, the person involved, is pushed into a corner by Young Master Huo.

“I dare you to break up with me.”

Little Fairy Wen smiles brightly. “You were the one who told me to scram.”

The fierce Young Master Huo becomes a meek little puppy in the next second. “Don’t break up with me. My life is yours from now on.”

Wen Ruan died brutally in her previous life. Young Master Huo, who was terminally ill, collected her corpse and even laid into the crystal coffin with her after consuming poison.

Now that she’s reborn, her goal is to tear the scumbags and b*tches apart, cure his illness, suck up to him, and become his precious little fairy.

[The Little Fairy who is sweet and delicate, meek and charming VS The temperamental Young Master Huo who is extremely faithful and only pampers the little fairy ]

This novel is cliché and fresh at the same time. Let me explain why.

First, classic step-sister steals MC's fiancé and blah blah blah. All her family and the people dear to her gone blah blah blah.

And that's the cliché part.

... more>> The FL already died in the beginning and saw the ML (her arch nemesis) taking revenge for her (he bombed the ex-fiancé and step-sister's wedding lol) before dying for her "Romeo & Juliet" style. The girl was moved, and when given a second chance, she wanted to change their relationship.

Family drama is a must, but that is only between the older generation. FL's first mission is, of course, driving the evil step-mother and step-sister that killed her father away from her family.

I like FL's personality a lot.

ML is rather cute too, but sometimes he's a bit of a bully. You can say in a cute way, but sometimes it's also rather perplexing. It makes you wonder, wow, is this dude nuts? Oh well...

Spoiler

He does have some sort of PTSD regarding a trauma of when he was small and saw an o r g y (?). That's what I read in the MTL at least. Also, he's got paranoia and is obsessive soo....

[collapse]

Spoiler

FL's father has a bi-polar disorder. A gentleman personality and another personality kinda similar to ML's.

[collapse]

Spoiler

FL's mother was clinically depressed and jumped into the sea.

[collapse]

When I saw the main cast I was definitely surprised.

I was like wow... What a bunch of "interesting" fellas...

Spoiler

He pushed FL away by saying hurtful words and she decided to cut off their relationship after a few tries of reconciliation. In her words "we are strangers now".

It was painful for both of them.

However, after half-an-year, she's slowly healing and the ML comes in, "overbearing president style", and tries to chase her back.

Not a fan of that.

He pushed her away and now he wants to get back together just like that?

He's aware at least. He knows he's obsessive. He's trying at least. He needs to try harder.

If this review ever goes down to three stars, he'll be the reason.

[collapse]

Edit: TL;DR So I decided to keep reading this novel after some time, and I gotta say that never in my life I was so disappointed... It started out as cute novel and then we get the classic overbearing president trope. And I personally really hate that... Honestly, if this was the first lifetime and then we get the real second chance, maybe redeemable. But how tf did my cute fluffy novel became some dog blood drama novel? <<less

The start was okay, but then the author dumbed down the MC. The ML's actions became mean and treated her more like an object. The general plot became s*upid... so I won't be reading on.

Ok, the story ain't that bad but still, I'm sad with it)) :

But first of all, let me tell u that this novel includes the story of the main couple, and then the stories of the other couples; so for me, this is one of those novels that are so long because the author tried to explote everything she/he can, and idk if it was necessary or that enjoyable? I mean, I like when characters aren't used as foil and are respected, but I personally found boring several of the... more>> couples, especially the royal one (how do we come from a highschool romance to that?).

Anyway, reading the novel, I just got in count that there are several overbearing presidents here, I guess Chinese people really like that trope or idk. The female characters also don't have that much of a difference between each other, and while all of them are supposed to be excellent and precious beings, they're always nothing or not as good or noble as their male counterparts.

MC, for example, is one of the few woman in the story who's allowed to show excellence and move both women and men (in different fields, I'm not only talking about attraction), but always ends up being kidnapped by her own emotions while she's interacting with the ML (even tho she says she has her boundaries and so on). At first it didn't happen that way, but after she fell for him, I think she started to lose a bit of her spark?

Author wrote them in a way were they fight, they get closer again, they fight, they both open their hearts and see painful trauma, did rich good things, etc., etc. 🙄

I found this story by luck, I was in the mood to read something light and cute so this is why I picked it (in the site where I was reading it, in only had the tag of romance and modern romance, lol) and that's what I got... until one chapter, everything went downhill?!

-Idk why I'm surprised, if the title I found this story was "Reborn as the paranoid Huo Shao's little fairy", but ok, lolol-.

After that, I still tried to read more, but everything just turned into something really dog-blooded, ill... *sigh* (after I came to NU to read other people reviews, I saw the tags, so no wonder. If u want to read this, u better pay attention to that).

So this is my advice for all of u guys who're curious about the story: don't read it if you don't want future dog-blood / ill drama, useless pain, pain and a lot of pain, to then get fluffy moments that makes no sense after the pain, lol. The beginning has no much of that so for a moment I thought it was going to be something different.

This is my main issue with the novel. It's ok to want to mix cute, fluffy, wholesome moments with something more serious or dark, but I feel like the author didn't know how to do it properly?

Tbh idk how to describe this novel because while the story has several cute parts that made me so happy, there was also a darker underlying with almost everything or everyone. That did build up suspense, but after some time of reading the same structure and mixing that with drama that could have been avoided, I felt like the story was getting heavier and heavier to read (despite all the light and silly moments in between).

This story also has several plot-holes, some small and some bigger, but the more complex the situation is faced, the more it lacks because of that? Some stuff is dragged too much as well imo, but it hurts because it truly has many wholesome and fluffy parts, ML is written in such a way that u want to punch him sometimes, and sometimes u just want to hug him.

The story started in a decent way; it included clichés from rebirth stories, such as: MC who wants revenge after being betrayed by the people she thought were her dearest people (but at the end took everything from her) ; MC who's a medical genious and is good at everything; who had a broken family but after rebirth she starts healing the link and bonds; an ML who did something incredible for her in her previous life, etc., etc.

I personally enjoy those settings if well or decently written, so I don't necessarily mind the clichés. Here, it wasn't badly written.

Anyway, just as @Arrange said, the story began with MC's rebirth, after that, she decides that this life she'll do better and live better, that she must protect her beloved people, and so on. Instead of talking, she starts with actions, so ofc you'll see her fighting the evil, cheap and fake "family". This is her 1st step to pursue freedom and happiness, or so it seems.

MC feels pretty nice at first, since the very 1st chapter she immediately reacts and starts fighting against her previous fate: she throws the garbage away, tries to repay the goodness of the past. She's also quick witted and without doubt, she starts building her own path of success. All this, and the subsequent events, gave a nice flow to the story and makes u think this will be a wholesome story of growth (she doesn't do that much effort tho, the author made her all skillfull in pretty much everything, a lucky daughter that has always been exceptional but did hide her light because of her scummy ex bf).

There are misunderstandings here and there between the main couple, but u think there are only baby steps to become a wholesome couple who understand each other and blabla, and it truly felt that way, until they become adults and makes no sense to continue interacting like that anymore.

Their relationship was funnily weird at first, she's a bully and he enjoys the bullying (it doesn't seem so, especially because he has issues, but you'll know why in the future). Then she doesn't want to be like that and all kind of funny things happen in between, and at the same time, is super uncomfortable because he's so weird and doesn't know how to speak, only knows how to be a brat and attack for whatever reason you can find. This will come back in the future several times and it makes sense, but it'll also bring painful situations as well.

Then the story keeps giving hints and hints about several mental health problems and dark, sorrowful situations. You'll see several of the key characters are dealing with this.. idk why, but at first I didn't put much thought much into it, so when everything scaled up, it took me by surprise (it really shouldn't since the death of MC in her first life should have been enough to show the explicitness of the story).

Slowly but surely, u see them both getting closer, since he has issues with his mental health (this ain't a spoiler, the title it self shows it), and so she has emotional issues because of her past life, well, it takes some time for both to be in the same channel. I liked that because it felt like a slow-burn romance.

At some point, everything seems right, both shared some meaningful and cute moments, it seems like both are blooming and are getting closer buuuuuut.... suddenly... one day, they aren't close anymore.

I understand the development, like, he is a teenager after all and MC while being older (because of rebirth) is immature as well (no matter how skillfull she is) ; both have situations that are serious and it affects them in a way or another, they have wounds that are not healed, their mental health issues are not something that they can overcome with pure will; but, at the same time, I don't really understand what happened.

So they're broken apart and sis says she no longer wants to be with him, but ofc when she goes to the capital, he, who's the most important male character in the novel, has to meddle in her life again and blabla.

Then you'll see the typical noble drama between people from the capital, a rich young drama between lovers, etc.

The beginning of the story remind me to a k drama called "it's ok, it's love". The story has an ML who keeps looking for constant adrenaline rushes, had some dark details here and there, lowkey wants his own destruction but still has hope for life, etc. MC is a doctor who also deals with some stuff but tries her best regardless, because she wants to live a good life.

I think that drama is a good example of a story that can mix wholesomeness and cute funny moments, with more serious and dark topics.

So yeah, I think this novel wanted to achieve that, and to be fair, it had some good paragraphs, some very good lines, some refreshing twists (despite the small or big plot-holes), but somehow, left me feeling really hollow and disappointed?

I thought this story was going to be a sweet, fluffy, bursting with the energy of youth, cute, and a simple story, but no. It had all this but also another dar wave that I felt it didn't match completely at the end. There is some exploration about the psychiatric aspect of all of this, which was nice, but at the same time I don't think there was enough.

U may try to read it, because as I said, there are some good parts and some interesting situations in this novel, but I think most connections between characters jumped between being poignat, to being cute, to be painful, and then fluff?

Ah, idk how to express myself properly. But go ahead if u want, I'd love to read more reviews about this novel, is quite long tho.

The mom's case was so saaaad, the uncle case is so wtf, there are many things I'd like to comment but gosh no.

Maybe I'll try to finish the novel one day, but not for now 😔 <<less
