***

In their original stories, they were mere cannon fodder – betrayed by loved ones, condemned by society, and subjected to countless ab*ses, all leading to a tragic end. But fate had other plans. One day, everything changed when someone chose to stand by their side, offering unwavering protection.

Even as the whole world turned against them, there was always that one person standing firmly in their defense, shielding them from all harm. This act of love and protection transformed their lives:

And so:

The fallen child star who fell from the heights of fame rose to become the emperor of the entertainment industry.

The neglected child who once scavenged to survive blossomed into a world-renowned fairy tale writer.

The defeated ruler who had contemplated su*cide in despair emerged as the revivalist who restored a dynasty to its former glory.

These redeemed souls often reflected on their journey:

“She gave me life, rescued me from my darkest hour, and instilled in me a heart of strength.” “Later, I won the admiration and love of many, but in the beginning, all I wanted was to make her proud.”

PS:

1. This is a story about the power of familial love and redemption.

2. In odd-numbered worlds, the protagonist is a son, and in even-numbered worlds, a daughter, each experiencing their own unique journey.

This story is beautiful, engaging, and sincere, everything you hope a mother would be.

The story is held at the helm by Yao Rong who is an unbelievably steady, loving, and supportive character. The way she tends to each of her children as flowers in a garden is lovely to see because doing so, she acknowledges that though they are all beautiful, they are different. Each child has their own journey, difficulties, and needs; therefore, in each world she interacts with them differently while still being the most caring mother she... more>> can be. I also liked that while Yao Rong can be kind of OP because she's an experienced tasker, she is more than content to gently guide her children in the right direction as opposed to solving all of their issues for them. She encourages and motivates and lets her children find their own paths. Only when the situation is completely beyond the means of the child does she step in to help. Furthermore, the plot of each world is interesting and I liked getting to know each of the children alongside Yao Rong.

Side note: I don't know why this is tagged as romance though because Yao Rong doesn't fall in love with anyone in the worlds. She is solely focused on her mission. Sometimes the children have love interests but it's never the defining theme in their growth stories.

Overall, I highly recommend this story and hope people enjoy it as much as I did because on top of everything else it did wonderfully, I think it does a great job at embodying the quote, "People will forget you said and did but never the way you made them feel." <<less

This novel is spectacular (at least so far).

The MC doesn't mindlessly push forward. She lets the child get comfortable with her and always consults with the child before deciding anything. Even if she doesn't love the children she's responsible for, she shows consideration and care, and is attentive towards their needs.

This is like a breadth of fresh air. So, give it a chance.

This is one heck of a ride and extremely beautiful in the ways it describes parenting and childcare. Ms. Yao is our main protagonist, a senior tasker in the counter attack department. She becomes the first employee of the "I am your mother" department on a recommendation transfer. We go through about 8 worlds if memory serves correctly, 4 boys and 4 girls. Each world alternates, the first world being a boy and the second a girl.

So let's get into a bit more of my feelings and thoughts on the... more>> novel. Yao Rong is simply a delight to read. She is incredibly down to earth and compares each one of her children to a flower. She then grows this subsequent flower while living in that world and you see the childs progress through how well her flowers are doing. I thought this continuous use of the flowers a fortelling device was simply brilliant. Yao Rong also grows as a parent through her worlds as well and gives her children unconditional love and support. This is continually reflected in how she cares for her kiddos.

So I want to get into some spoilers a bit. Since the last couple of the chapters of the novel gives us the reader a bit more insight into Yao Rong and who she is. We find out that the main stream thing people do, is take an emotions eraser pill after each mission. Yao Rong doesn't like this and is in the opposite camp. Where you should sympathise with your client/s and you can't do that without emotion. We also learn that she inherits the emotions, memories and thoughts of the original mother she transmigrates into, these stay with her. So after each mission, she takes a 1 month break to recover before starting the next. At the end of the novel she decides to take a longer break and plants an entire desolate planet with flowers, all of the flowers are the same kinds as the ones she grew for her children in each world. Except for at the center pavilion, where it's purple pansy. Something her last daughter compared her to, which stunned her. She had constantly referred to children as flowers and her there caretaker, but she herself had never been compared to as a flower herself. Purple pansy means "unconditional love", which fit her perfectly.

We also learn at this time that before entering into the department, Yao Rong had been worn down a long time ago and lost the joy of life. She refound this joy through watching her children experience life in new and interesting ways. I really like the ending scene when she's explaining this to her fellow tasker.

"After so many worlds, so many years and so many places..." she then goes on to describe several things like hiking, travelling, fighting, medicine, ect. and how she had lost the joy in all of these things. But then goes onto describe how she refound that joy through her children, watching them experience those things helped her refind happiness and reignited her passion for life. So she tells her friend that her children also saved her in a way and she will always love them.

Soo all and all, it's an amazing novel and a total recommend for anyone wanting to have a really enjoyable parenting novel. The only downside I have, is the world ends once the plot gets to a good stopping point. We never see what happens into old age. Though a couple of worlds we get to witness what happens in the far flung future. <<less

Some arcs (like the first one) were a little bit weak and boring. My favourite was the metaphysics arc where MC comes back as a ghost king and helps her son become the best exorcists.

There is no romance, not even a hint. In all the stories, if her husband is still alive, then he is a scumbag. If he was a good husband and father, then he is dead for whatever reason.

I like that this QT doesn’t make it all the mother’s fault that the transmigrator has to fix as some do. I’m a fan of happy parent child interactions, but there aren’t many chapters to base this rating on yet.
