OP FL MC where she travels between different worlds and changes the fate of the villains along the way.

Romance: none at all.

Arcs:

Spoiler

In each arc, there is a villain and the original main character (OMC). The MC's goal is to save the villain from his original bad end, usually by screwing over the OMC.

    1. Modern world. MC is the sister of the villain, who is an actor. She's naturally creepy so becomes an acting star for a horror film, then scares the sh*t out of a gang who tried to beat her up and r*pe her. This makes her even more popular as an actor (also she is really good). The rest of this arc is just her being an OP actor.
    2. Immortal cultivator vs demons world. MC's body was originally a cultivator, got pushed into the demon world to kill her by the reincarnated OMC. She becomes the demon lord, screws with the OMC who dies. Then she saves the villain by helping him kill his evil father.
    3. Stallion novel. MC's body was the fiance of the OMC, who had some kind of protag halo that attracts women. The OMC transmigrated from a different world, copied the novels from that world in this one to become famous. MC ends up writing a better book than him, screws him over by winning the best author award then killing him. The villain is saved since he would've originally been attacked by the OMC.
    4. Modern world. MC gets rich by becoming a hacker to help her mum and then starting a business.
    5. Modern world with ghosts. MC develops an app that allows normal people to see ghosts, talk to them, and use talismans to fight back.
    6. Ancient China. OMC reincarnated, tries to kill the villain early. MC is the villain's (non-biological) mum, and she ends up starting a science organisation disguised as a religion, improving the lives of the commoners. MC eventually overthrows the royal family and becomes the empress.
    7. Escape game world. Another god made an escape game world where players need to beat 7 stages of the game or they die. The MC kills and impersonates an NPC to track down the God, who she devours. MC is now technically free from the villain saving system but chooses to continue because it's fun to travel to different worlds.
    8. Interstellar. MC's body was a general in the human galactic army but her genes collapsed after having it plundered by the original main character. She gets kicked out of the army, robs a pirate for a ship, freely roams, gets revenge on the OMC, and lets the villain live a normal life.
    9. Zombie apocalypse. MC can control the zombies, builds a big base, discovers that zombies are actually human evolution and they regain all their memories after a year. She and the researchers end up developing potions that let people turn into zombies without losing their memories for long.
    10. Last chapter of the story, she travels through thousands of worlds and ends up becoming a system for fun.

I honestly really liked the style. Right now I'm into 'Quick Transmigration' and 'transmigrated into a novel' content, also I'm still crushing on the villains. So this novel was really satisfying to me.

Many novels using the 'system transmigrator theme' drag each arc for too long and smudge the story. In this novel you get to quickly read the fun parts, the author places a lot of time skips here and there, and the arc finishes up quickly. The OG heroine and hero of each arc typically die after the first... more>> 8 chapters of the arc and cue the end of the arc. So, instead of the arc being stretched out to 50 chapters, each arc finishes in roughly 8 chapters.

Most importantly, the novel is not entirely brain dead as it seems the MC can plan ahead. MC has plot armor and OP power, and is indifferent towards everything and somehow attracts everyone. MC basically has a combination of buffs that let the reader enjoy a smooth ride watching MC care only about helping/raising the villain.

Also the horror aspect? The way MC terrorizes people is definitely worth a read, I'm laughing and in awe.

Romance spoilers =

Spoiler

There have been other emotionally fulfilling plots, but romance? No.

At this point, what's a ML? Can I eat it?

Finally a FL quick transmigration with minimal threats or attempts at r*pe/s*xual assault. Zero actual s*xual assault on the protagonist and only one r*pe as a backstory. Besides the a period in the very first arc and a brief scene in a later arc no one treats this protagonist (or any other characters) as a walking s*x object to try to abuse at will!

... It’s really sad that this is rare. Even the most lighthearted stories tend to use this as a subplot or even main plot. Art mimics life I suppose.

Many other reviewers have explained how great this novel is. It gets even better as it goes on too! It’s a nice subversion of your typical QT novels with an actually strong and independent FL who grows and matures emotionally the more she experiences the world.

It was a really good read, I enjoy very much the different worlds with there plots and characters, they were very interesting and fun. You will find the classic themes like the entertainment, the stallion world, the cultivation, the apocalypse,... but the point of view and plots were diverse and attractive. I read a lot of QT but this one makes me think "ho you can do it like that" or "wow she really does what she want and doesn't care about the original plot".

I feel the novel is unique... more>> and a bit different of other quick transmigrations, the MC has a mission but she does it mostly to experience different lives and when she has enough she left (unlike other QT who stays until old age) and she doesn't try to force the heroes, she does her things and if they turn bad, she doesn't know. Also there is no romance (few don't have) and too much emotional attachment, the MC is a bit cold in that but she said it herself : it seems she like the lonely path, nonetheless she is good to the good people around her.

One point that don't convince me is the writing horror. The author uses the horror background well and it spicies the plot but the writing horror with her enemies is rarely thrilling for me but it's for my case, it might not be the same for you.

So I recommend this novel, I really enjoyed my lecture and wanted more arcs but like always better short than too long. <<less

Enjoyable story to read to pass the time, don't expect any well written detailed plots, the story is easy and light-hearted. There is no romance and the MC never falls into trouble, no scheming because MC isn't a green tea b*tch. There's no annoying overbearing posessive ML that chase after the MC in every world either so that's a bonus.

MC's character was originally a horror escape game boss, her abilities consumes fear, everytime she scares people she gets stronger. Her powers are omnipotent after several transmigrations.

MC don't actively seek out... more>> revenge unless the offenders deliberately seek out trouble with her, which is kinda disappointing, I wish she was more aggressive because some people truly deserve retribution, but some of them would still get some sort of karma anyway. Her character was quite emotionless at first as she wasn't originally human but a mob character created by the lord god, but you can see her developing more and more emotions as she transmigrate and becoming more human. I really like this side of her, unlike other novels where the quick transmigrators were indifferent to other people's suffering and only cares about their tasks, she actually help saved others in trouble which was very selfless, it's ironic considering those other characters were humans while she wasn't.

Her system doesn't help with her tasks, this is probably because she was too capable, but the system is nice.
Spoiler

It even sent her to a world where she became a newborn so that she could experience mother's love because she said that she was destined to walk a lonely path.

[collapse]

Ending was quite abrupt, seems like author ran out of ideas.
Spoiler

In the end she chose to become a system as well

The summary is kind of funny. It's more accurate to say that instead of becoming the biggest villain of each world, MC undermines the plot so much that she makes the villain's role obsolete. So the "villain" can peacefully move on with their lives and become productive members of society.

Since MC wasn't originally human, she doesn't actually hold any malice despite being cold in the beginning. Through these worlds, she slowly develops emotions, fondness, love, empathy. It's very good. She's intelligent and just needed time and companionship to expand her... more>> world.

No romance and funny. Recommended. <<less

This QT novel is definitely my top choice. What it differs from every other qt novel?

Spoiler warning

As the title suggests our MC is indeed a escape games boss and she gets that choice from the Lord God (who is basically the one who creates all of the world and watches over them) to got to different worlds and save the villain so predictable right? Yes but the thing I like about this is that it's not the usual I find the villain and start a romance with him no because... more>> MC doesn't have a love interest, witch I quite like, in the second world she even turns the villain into a cat because she doesn't want the trouble. The system I enjoy it very much because it only gives her the task and there isn't any punishment since her only job is to practically stabilize the villain the system is so nice and the only time we see it is when the MC returns from her missions.

So I would definitely recommend reading this novel. Another warning in the forth arc there I mention of r*pe as a flashback with the mother of the MC but it doesn't end with them getting together both of them take revenge on the whole family and the man but not killing him just taking everything away.

P.S I read the mtl but I still enjoyed it <<less

A simple and straightforward story with an OP MC that surprisingly is not annoying to read at all. More often than not I find that OP protagonists end up becoming hypocritical nonsensical meddlers but not here. Unlike the usual 'You touched the original body so even if it's not part of the task I'll actively work towards the downfall of you, your family, friends, neighbour and his dog, the MC here would pat her hands and walk away from whoever/whatever is not part of her task description and would not... more>> bother about them as long as they don't trouble her (but often times they do receive their comeuppance one way or another as plot proceeds).

She's straight forward and true to her inorganic origins but you can see her curiosity and interest in learning more about people and experiences. But it is a QT novel so don't expect great character development and world building. Still I liked it a lot since I liked the MC. I especially love how she resolves what other task takers might find bothersome.
Spoiler

Q. How to fight an empire that would become an annoyance by being the orgFL's strength and could harm her task object?

A. Start a cult, rebel and become the Emperor.

Q. How to deal with the twisted task object who's going to run to his twin brother (ML of that world) and die after plotting against him?

A. Turn him into a cat and keep him by your side.

Q. How to escape from being trapped in a horror game where you die in real life if you die ingame while in the task object's body?

A. Knockout and take over the task-giving NPC. Pretend to be the said NPC's successor and make sure to guide the players into creating scenarios where the orgNPC kicks the bucket so the task can't proceed and by that summon the Lord God of that instance who you can kill off.... I was literally rolling on my bed lmao when she nonchalantly admitted she's not the NPC and claimed she didn't know killing one is against the rules since she's a first time player (well, technically that's only a half lie. It is her first time being a player. she's only got the experience of being the Final Boss of horror games before 😂)

[collapse]

The storyline is not too heavy and it makes for a good light read. MTL is readable and since it's a QT, you can finish each story pretty quick so it was great for relaxing after work. It's not a great work of literature that's going to find its way into annals of history but just another light novel to distract you from horrors of daily life and work. 4.5/5⭐ recommended. <<less

I personally enjoyed it because I like completely indifferent female MCs, however I can't rate more than a 2~2.5

To put it bluntly, it is a thoroughly unambitious project. QT novels take you for the ride of MC achieving the objective of the mission world step by step, playing also on the memories and attachments made along the way. Here it's the opposite. MC is so strong she can literally slay the last boss the moment she transmigrates, like no big deal. She has no attachments to the characters of every... more>> world, specially mission targets, they will only be mentioned in passing and their woes are indirectly solved by her. This leaves the playground more open in how she could've tackled the missions, but it's usually a head-on approach every time.

The advantage of this novel is that it lacks most of the annoying tropes of QTs, like a blabbermouth system, romantic interests with bad personas or too bland, inconsistent settings and annoyingly convenient golden fingers (although not the case here since MC doesn't really interact with the plot normally). But as said before, it also lacks the good parts of said QTs. At the same time, you can say you don't remember anything of the story (because there's nothing memorable about it) and that you remember everything (because the plot is extremely linear with few elements).

The experience is like going to a cooking competition and seeing a participant making a simple omelette. You know the taste will not be bad, but you can't bring yourself to rate the chef, so that even someone who failed their dish scored higher. <<less

I would say it's an okay kind of story. Since it only lasts for short 102 chapters, each arc were short and tbh has much more potential.

MC is an OP in every arc with thick plot armor or whatever it is that makes our protagonist life easy. Most problem were solved by netizens or just unravel themselves. The missions got overlooked but still somehow magically solved.

However I still appreciate MC's character development.

I used to think The Female Supporting Role Shows Out was the best QT I had ever read (only because I was addicted to it). I was wrong. This one is infinitely better, and should have had as many chapters as that novel. I'm going to compare and contrast the two just to tell you why this novel is so much better.

  • Romance
Unlike Female Supporting Role, and many other QT stories, there is no CP/love interest for the main character Lin Xiaotang. Lin Dan, the MC for Female Supporting Role, gradually... more>> becomes less and less interesting to me as she increasingly ties herself to male leads, especially in later arcs, who don't deserve her. The beginning arcs with no romance were the best, and arcs in Escape Boss embody this feeling well.

  • Main Character
Despite both being Lins, and me still liking Lin Dan, I like Lin Xiaotang more. Lin Dan and Lin Xiaotang start off as similar characters, albeit in different circumstances. They begin with no emotions, or no experience of life and humanity. But through their journeys, they learn and grow. They have morals they never give up on. Lin Dan wasn't overpowered in the beginning - she had to learn to cook, to embroider, and more throughout the worlds. But after world 5 or so, Lin Dan is too overpowered. What I liked about her was that she was never too beautiful, or too powerful, with all of her skills accumulated in multiple worlds.

Now, the author of Escape Boss does something good - Lin Xiaotang is OP right off the bat, because she was an escape game boss who became so powerful, the Lord God let her travel to different worlds. It's good to introduce OP characters like this, so it's not eventually jarring in later worlds with their new OPness. Unlike Lin Dan, Lin Xiaotang is more subtle, and she doesn't have multiple skills, just her horror abilities, and her intelligence. In worlds she possesses, the original host might be beautiful, sure, but the author never focuses too much on that. There was an entire fashion arc in Female Supporting Role I didn't particularly like, exactly for this reason.

  • Plot
Here we go, the most important aspect. Plot. Since this is a review of the top two QT novels (in my opinion), I'll compare a few arcs where Escape Boss does better, just to show why it's an amazing and better story.

Physical Exorcism arc (Escape Boss) vs. Witch arc (Female Supporting Role) :

- Both arcs deal with the supernatural, but whereas Supporting Role is your typical divide between mundane and supernatural, Escape Boss does something brilliant by focusing on the mundane and not supernatural.

Spoiler

Lin Xiaotang makes an app for ordinary people to communicate/see/exorcise the supernatural themselves, instead of leaving it all in the hands of "spiritual masters" who monopolize their powers for money/fame.

[collapse]

True and False Daughter arc (Escape Boss) vs. Reversal of Life arc (Female Supporting Role) :

- While both women go on to become "goddesses"/figures who are venerated by the people of ancient times, Lin Xiaotang doesn't rely on the imperial family to boost her fame.

Spoiler

Lin Xiaotang overthrows the previous tyrant, and becomes the new Emperor. And this is after using her abilities to pretend to be a goddess/chosen one of her newly created religion!

[collapse]

End Times arc (Escape Boss) vs. Apocalypse arc (Female Supporting Role) :

- Lin Dan in your typical superpowered humans vs zombies arc. Lin Xiaotang in your zombies-are-more-than-they-seem arc.

Spoiler

I love, love, love stories where the zombies are basically the next step of human evolution, and can think and are not just mindless monsters to be killed.

[collapse]

  • Ending
Escape Boss had me yearning for more adventures with Xiaotang, but ultimately satisfied me. Female Supporting Role, while the ending world had interesting callbacks to previous arcs, ultimate ended in a little too open ending for me. <<less

The MC is a breath of fresh air. She didnt have brain holes like other typical MC. Since she originally isnt a human, she didnt have such strong human connection and emotion but as the story goes, she learns them but in a more slow pace yet organic way.

What I really enjoy the most of this story is that the method the MC used to resolve her missions. Her method is so straighforward yet the result would lead her to gain the most advantages. And it wasnt even based on... more>> luck, she really had the brain to back it up.

To summarize, If you meet the villain you would hear boss music, but if you meet her then you would only see the end credit😂 <<less

I also like the MC. Her approch to the missions is so different and direct compared to other Female MC's with systems. She just directly solves the quest then spends the rest of the time enjoying herself while the mob characters & stepping stones either do their own thing or go seeking "Death" all on their own.

By the way As of 1/6/2023, have any of you noticed that the current Ch 35 & 36 that was posted on 12/26/2022 are the same chapters?

Anyone think that will get fixed soon and... more>> the REAL next chapter can be read by us soon? I like this story, but the updates take forever. <<less

Pros :

Unique premise. I thought MC will be heartless, cold and logical type of person. She's logical but not sure about the heartless type. Just a nice human being ig.

This is a mary sue but better type of story. Everything works out well for MC. MC just focuses on herself and don't give af about annoying people. We stan queen behaviour

Ending is kinda unexpected ... more>>

Cons :

The first few world are okay ish but the latter world are meh. Not developed at all. Still bearable but boring

There's not much romance nor character development. Probably because MC is already good enough and the thruth is she doesn't need a partner. Even the system isn't a big part of her.

I would still recommend this. There's just something about MC that's very desolate and otherworldly <<less

It’s kind of different plot in QT but in a good way.

The MC is OP but she solved the problems with different methods than others QT novels that I had read. The object of her missions were just side characters in this novel but I still like the way how the author wrote the plot.

Every arc is only around 10 chapters, easy to read and I enjoy this novel.

I LOVE this story to pieces.

It's hands-down one of the best in the quick-transmigration genre. And despite presenting itself as a villain system, which she really is! The biggest villain in every single world, it is just so wholesome.

The protagonist is basically a made-up character, an in-game NPC. She used to be the last BOSS in an escape horror game. So, she's incredibly OP but in the best way possible. At first it was intriguing how she manipulated her skills to cope up with the situations she's in and... more>> complete her tasks; but later, it's much more captivating to see how she has grown from this indifferent, unfeeling, nearly robotic NPC into a lovely person.

As many have said, it's a subversive to the usual tropes within this genre. The protagonist has no lovers, no attachments, no real moral code, even no goals of her own, until she slowly developed them bit by bit as she experienced multiple worlds. She even barely got in touch with characters in each world she supposed to "save" or "destroy" I believe there was one where she just completed her task by simply studying.

My favorite moment was a world where she was a little bun, she was so damn cute. It's also the moment you truly see her growing as she received unconditional love and pampering from her mother in that world. This world was also one where the author handled this trope of accidental imp**gnation so beautifully. Huge applause to them.

The horror element was also done very well, especially in the first few worlds. It's not too much to the point my scaredy heart can't take it, but also not too vague that we can't see why the characters are afraid of her. Unfortunately, in later worlds, it became much more tame. In some worlds, there was no horror element at all, just simple face-slapping.

I have a few chapters left that I don't want to finish coz I've grown so attached to it. Really looking forward to this author's next work. They have done such a good job.

A recommend read, indeed. <<less

A fun short QT novel. Arcs are pretty short so you'll won't get bored, but the characters and interactions are pretty nice in the beginning, later on it devolves to overturningthe OG Hero/Heroine of the world and counterattacking in weird ways.

For most of them, there is either no actual interactions with the Original Villain/Hero or its face slapping the OG Protagonists

Spoiler

The first arc was the longest and the one that got me the most emotionally invested. A nice moderate take on the modern entertainment plot. Big bro Ren Ling! The Original main CP only appeared at the last chapter happily married.

Best arc IMO.

The second she just went wild in a cultivation reversal plot. Interestingly she wasn't the only person to know of the original plot, and this minor plot twist will happen again.

The third was being a workaholic author in a isekai harem setting. Everyone were pretty dogblood/isekai harem protag minded, but they got their comeuppance.

The fourth was being an OP daughter of the poor FL in a really dogblood modern drama.

Fifth was counterattacking an urban fantasy setting with the power of Science.

Sixth was a change since she became a mother. And a cultist head and an Emperor.

The throwback to an horror game setting was a change for the seventh, but it ended pretty quicklysince she was originally a LAST BOSS in that kind of setting and curbstomped the Lord God off-screen in a single sentence.

Eighth was her interstellar holiday. She didn'treally do much but leave and that was enoughto derail the plot.

And the last was a Zombie Apocalypse! Which was mostly reactions and such since she decided to do some peaceful base building and farming.

Still not idea what the original villain wanted in this arc, maybe being a pet cat was his true wish?

[collapse]

Other than the first arc, amazing, great people, very fun, the appeal of the rest of the book is probably the low investment, status quo overturning, QT antics of someone who wasn't originally human.

Its nice seeing her slowly being fleshed out, learning more about affection and interpersonal relationships, her own desires and stuff.

Still its only 103 chapters long, its its a nice short QT to binge <<less

Very refreshing, no romance not because she is torn about having a lover and leaving them and their kids but rather she doesn't care about it.

The worlds are very interesting and shoutout to the first one for being a bit of an emotional gut punch and its nice to see MC slowly grow more emotions and likes as time goes by.

She's a munchkin but she was a munchkin even before the story started so the progression of power doesn't seem too unbelievable or the jump too big, rather more like... more>> getting back the power she once had. <<less
