When I confessed my feelings to Sayahara Kiki, a classmate I dearly yearned for, she answered, “…I’m glad that you feel that way about me. Thank you very much. But I… can’t go out with someone who has a face like a potato. I’m sorry.” I was so shocked that I thought I was going to vomit. I went to sleep with a broken heart, but when I woke up the next day… it turned out to be today again! Apparently, if you don’t capture her heart, tomorrow will never come…!

Imagine if life had a forced save point at the beginning of every day and if that day you did not meet a certain objective, you'd be forced to resume from the save point with your memories intact. On one hand, it would be very convenient as you'd get to re-do your mistake, such as re-doing a confession to the girl you like. On the other hand, it would be very annoying as you're forced to repeat that day even if you don't want to.

It's an interesting premise and this... more>> novel is a mixture of standard rom-com and the exploration of different consequences of this "power". While the ending was satisfying, I feel that the execution could have been done better and more time. In particular, I felt that the middle part of this book did not really contribute much to the enjoyment of the overall story at all and more time could have been spent exploring more aspects of the time loop. <<less

An interesting story contained within one volume. The time loop as a plot device is well utilised in order to create drama and to make the relationships progress. The romance in particular is quite satisfying.

That said, if you expect some explanation concerning the time looping, do not get your hopes up. The time loop is strictly a plot device, and does not connect to some deeper lore of the universe.

In reaction to the time looping, the protagonists actions are mostly rational and reasonable, which is pleasant to see. The MC... more>> isn't wimpy and can pull off funny monologues and interactions.

The heroines are charming, even along their defects. The main heroine, in particular, is a perfect balance between being cold, and yet not expressionless.

I think the author did a great job at making all the characters lovable.

My only gripe about this novel is probably the second epilogue, which feels really unnecessary. I felt like the author needed to reach some amount of pages, and just wrote that there in order to add some semblance of depth, even though it sort of made the conclusion less satisfying, if anything.

Mild spoilers ahead concerning that.

Spoiler

After the happy ending with one of the heroines, despite confessing to each other and going out, the day rewinds again for some reason. Thus, the protagonist hypothesises that he might have made one heroine angry, or they may have been a new heroine to conquer. Nonetheless, he does not give up and begins trying out different paths once more, as always.

It's sort of sad to think that even though he went through all of this and finally reached his goal, he still is at the mercy of this phenomenon. The author could have cooked a cute short story with the couple going out with each other, but they did not. Kind of a dumb move, unless the goal was to make the reader feel that way.

Well, it still is a really good read, if you enjoy romance with a bit of a twist. That said, I would ignore the second epilogue. You will not miss anything. <<less
