The FL has real reasons for liking the ml, and she has more depth than I'd expect from a fluffy story like this (the story did a really good job of keeping her intentions a mystery at the start, and then revealed them as a surprise/plot twist)
-
- It's fun to see his relationships with the people around him, especially his childhood friends who still care about him
- Update: There is some action now and I retract what I said about it being a fluff story. It's a lot more than that.
Cons:-
- Aside from the misunderstanding that happened when he was younger, I feel like he could communicate with fML a bit more.
Spoiler
[collapse]
BUT given that the misunderstandings are enjoyable, technically essential for prolonging the plot, and understandable given his circumstances, (we're all human and we all fall into the trap of overthinking) I don't really mind
Usually novels like this are pick your poison:Heck, he could even communicate with his butler more, explain where he'd been all those years. He doesn't even have to tell his wife if he doesn't want to upset her.
-
- Boring fluff: no flaws, but no excitement either
Overall I was blown away by how this story managed to tick all the boxes for me without all the flaws that usually come with them. I didn't think it was that special at the start, but that's something I very rarely find. I wouldn't call it perfect, but it's relatively flawless. 4.8/5
