Hmm...I wonder why there are no reviews for this story. But, then, again, it's Jiu Lu Fei Xiang's story. You don't need any reviews to get you read this. For those who are familiar with the author's writing, I assure you, you won't be disappointed. For you people, who have never heard of the author, I'm warning you. You guys are missing something really great, especially if you are die hard fan of Chinese stories with good and unique plot with every kind of emotions to flavor it up. Oh... more>> wait, why don't you do this? Try this story first and decide whether you'd like to read her other stories (even though this story is not enough to help you decide).

Okay, guys, I'll just point out the reasons down below:

• • Like her other stories, there's no nonsense in this story, ya know, the part where you cringe and skip it.

• • The characters are just right.

• • The female lead is not too exaggerated. She is just a normal comic writer, encountering abnormal incidents every time (as mentioned in synopsis). She is funny. She knows when to back down and when to stand up tall. She is reasonable and silly too. But, she can be stubborn when it comes to protecting someone she cares about. She is what and how a human should be among non-humans.

• • The male lead is a vampire.... umm... vampire landlord (I didn't keep this under spoiler because the author makes it so obvious that this tsundere vampire is the male lead and the story is going to revolve around these two, from the very beginning). He is cold and pretends not to care (oh, but we all know tsunderes right?). He is always hell-bent on collecting rents every opportunity he sees. He kinda infuriates you, then, you'll be helpless against his snarky remarks like our FL here. But, the very next moment he melts your heart every time he appears when FL is desperate. You'll get to know why he tries to push FL away and why FL willingly gets pushed away (there's back story).

• • Talking about side characters.... they are not merely side characters. They have certain past on how they ended up living in that worn out eight-stored building. The lady vampire (our ml's sister) is free-spirited and scared of ghost (i know it's dumb and hilarious at the same time), the werewolf is kinda cute and shy. There is this determined chubby mermaid with scarred past and strong heart unlike the stereotypical image you've set on your head when it comes to mermaid, the zombie, ah, zombie king, who is upright and polite with gossip heart. We can't leave the old witch with girly heart, the goddess that sleeps all year around. You read it correct. She wakes up once a year, grants wishes to people and eats more than a pig when she is awake. Ah, how can we forget about this boy selling cute but is actually an old man in forties fifties. Oh, Oh, there's an alien too and.. shadow demon.

• • As I've mentioned before, this story is full of emotions. You'd be laughing, you'd be yelling in frustration, you'd be pondering deeply, you'd have a heavy heart, you'd be shedding tears, and many more. And, that's what I love about this story.

• • There's cliche too. But. it's just right. There is this one plot where it gets all obvious what would happen next and connects everything, binds the whole story (I guess it starts at 64 and ends at 85). After this one clue, you'd be like 'no wonder, omg, no wonder'.

• • Somewhere in the story, when FL conveys how she feels about reading comments of her readers and fans, I really felt the author. I imagined her doing the same. This brought a serene smile on my face.

• • Last, the ending. Many of you would be dissatisfied and then, you'd be like that's fine. But, there remains an itch in your heart. I'm damn sure about it. The ending is kinda happy and sad. You'll get to see a glimpse of fl's good life in the end (There's no clear statement. But, there are subtle hints at
    few chapters before the end).

This story teaches you to treasure the moment. Treasure the past, the present and the future. The author tries to convey that human life is indeed really very short compared to non-humans, but, they are also the one who can live their lives to the fullest if they want.

Another thing, this s*upid vampire, I've no words for him. This guy infuriates you, makes you speechless, hurts you with sharp words and at the same time makes you sad, melts your heart and brings smile on your face.

As you ponder about this story once you've finished, you'll realize FL was his past, his present and his future. She gets to see

former, current and future ml.

Everyone has happy ending. It's like sun shining after cloudy and gloomy day. You can't bring yourselves to hate

any characters (you might have a little grudge against the villain. But, you'd be able erase your grudge a little once you know his past. Just a little, okay?)

I've read a lot of novels of the author and I liked all of them.. And it's the same with this one! The book was already very funny at the start, sadlyits not translated fully. I liked the side characters, the FL is my fav And the ML too. I was a little confused about the ending because of mtl but I hope they had their happy ending.
