It's really boring. At first the content was funny with the emperor being shocked by his subjects' thoughts, but once the shock wears off, you realize - 1) this emperor is incredibly dull and 2) the MC is super lame.

The emperor is so unreasonable to expect people to be loyal to him. Like why? Should? They??? He was a prince too, he should know better than anyone how the harem works and how siblings in a harem work, so how does he have the audacity to expect others to scr*pe... more>> their hands and knees in gratitude solely for his existence?

I've read a lot of mind reading books and honestly, this is one of the worst ones (the actual worst one was a BL one and it was bad not bc it was BL but for another reason). The premise is almost always the same with the MC being lazy and trying to give glory to others, catching the eye of an important mind reading figure, and gets sent on a hot air balloon to a position of power. The MC doesn't work at all, is smart but not cunning, and his "audaciousness" extends to him just being like "why's the old man looking at me?!"

Actually, EVERYONE - and I mean everyone - is far more interesting than the MC and emperor. The empress is so hilarious and relatable!! Honestly, best character in the novel to read and her thoughts are so funny! The princes are smart, calculating, and cool. The ministers are scheming and the harem's thoughts are fascinating.

This novel should've been written in the perspective of literally ANYONE ELSE but the current MC. Even a menial worker at one of the ministries would have been so fun to read compared to his dull thoughts.

And also, to make the story more boring, he has modern age material to amuse himself! Yayyyyy! Can it be any more generic and overused? <<less

I wouldn't say it's bad, after all, I completed the whole story in one sitting. That's 600 chapters!

It's actually really fun at certain parts and you won't lose brain cells.

It just that it eventually fell into the pit of generic infrastructure, in which the story just kept talking about infrastructure and abandoned character relationships.

... more>> Although I wouldn't say that every characters is 3D, the author wrote them with some very individualistic traits.

The characters relationship was actually really good and have some complexity. It just that at one point, the author no longer dwell on their relationships and sometimes, the author no longer deepens the characterisations of the side characters.

I don't mind some side characters that are obviously just use to show the effects of infrastructure on common people. But I kinda don't want the characters that are written to be 'pioneers' to just fade away. At least also celebrate them louder.

Specially MC and his father, as well as his 8 older siblings. The author wrote them in a way that I actually can tell apart each of their main trait. Which is really good writing when you have plenty of side characters.

The author could expand the group portrait aspect of the story but sadly, as I said, the story eventually fall into the generic infrastructure story that talks about building and building. Not that it's bad, it's the main genre. But the author really have a good cast that's it's a pity that all of their relationships end up being flat.

MC have 8 older brothers

Oldest - a bit of a muscle head. If something can be solve with fist, he prefer not talking it out.

2nd - that smiling cunning guy who is black bellied. For me, he's the most politically inclined brother.

3rd - a really really cold guy. Direct to the point and won't listen to MC's bullsh*t as it waste time.

4th - Out of all brothers, he have the most noble background but he just like doing business. He's one of the frequent character but I actually feel like he's the most flat out of all brothers.

5th - fun loving, melon eater guy. Idk, maybe because he's the first one that mentioned his princess but I always feels like he's afraid of his wife 😂

6th - the most invisible brother. He simply likes to eat.

7th - MC likes his face the most lol. He's fiercely handsome but very sarcastic. He's like a beautiful tyrant. He's the 2nd prince full brother and it's kinda a pity that the author didn't explore it more as they are both very politically ambitious person.

8th - MC's best brother! Lol. He have a hint of a brocon but not much, maybe it's just that he and MC kind of rely on each other in the palace. I had hope that the author would show us more of their bonding.

Ahh what a charming novel. The characters are interesting, the plot is slow but smooth, and the world building is used subtly but with well knitted intentions. A very peaceful novel. Would recommend to read in your spare time or when you’re somewhat down.

should add “slice of life” as a genre.

This novel is fun to read. It is a refreshing take on all the court struggles.

I find it similar to "black corporation: joeson" where we read a transmigator from moderntimes transmigates as a prince and kick start modernization to ancient times where people still worry about what to eat.

MC is lazy, smart and kind. Very kind. It's a light and fun read. I prefered this one since it doesn't go into too much details and we just read our MC being an HR and recruits people. From bandits, criminals, brothers,... more>> dandies, talents he is tolerant of everyone and make them work just to make the world a better place. <<less

I want to know why historical infrastructure novel author obessed with cement road? As an civil engineering student I hella know how cement road works and brick road work. Brick road in ancient seem not good, plus very expensive and take so much time to make, but they are hella durable. They are suitable for hard wheels like metal coil wooden wheel, cart wheel, horse galloping. But cement road.... it's a hell mode for all of the ancient vehicles. They are brittle is the very true fact that's not good... more>> for hard wheels and horses! Only good things is they are not muddy. They have to be maintained every few years in this novel case. And that doesn't make cost effective. Unless they use with Tar which help but not very much but better than cement only road.

I wish Infrastructure Author should read just little, just really a little bit common sense and real rural life.

OMG! In later 550+ chapters! They did a really outrageous Racist! Using Black people as s*ave? OMG! They said they captured them! WTF is wrong with Chinese Author!!!! OMG That's so disgusting! They said Black people are UGLY! Excuse ME!!!!!!!! YOU LITTLE SHALLOW CHINESE AUTHOR !

It's truly absolutely GREAT Novel!!!

I have been searching for more novel like this!!! Male protagonist + Family Feels + No Romance!!!

Not Heavy, the Comedy is solid! It has Adventure theme where MC had to have some trips to solved problem here and there.

... more>> No action because our MC is not physically strong. But he's definitely the Smart and Cunning type!

Our MC is Lazy and want to be Salted Fish, but he also want to make the Great Wei to be more Great so he could have comfortable life.

He's Lazy as in if he can Sleep and Snacking while watch anime or read novel, he will do so. But because his Father Emperor, he had to work hard and to get Vacation as the Reward he need. Lol

Will he become the Emperor? Who knows. Because he definitely didNot want to!

He has good relationship with his 8th brother, and he start to develop decent relationship with other brothers. I truly hope if those Brothers end up not Evil who would scheming here and there, I truly pray the brothers could all get their HE. Maybe even become the Emperor that MC doesn't want to be. Lol

The relationship between the Father Emperor and MC also really good. MC learn his father can read his mind, and they grew closer because of it. MC also have no problem being Shameless and telling his father that he doesn't want to become Emperor. At the beginning of the story, the Father Emperor get closer to MC because the Benefit of the Cheat MC has. But with time pass, we can see the bond of them is getting closer and Father Emperor dotes his and scold him in more Intimate Familial way and not just because the Ulterior motives.

All in all I Love this novel SOOOO MUCH so far and pray for Satisfying Ending!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 <<less
