MC is an old Samoyed-like demon (?) who has recently woken up to a modern world that is almost completely different and where he has gone from being just an almost-god to one of the strongest demons left in China. He's old-fashioned and overwhelmed, but trying to overcome it and commit to his duty of protecting humans and overseeing his... more>> junior demons. ML is just a normal salaryman type official. He's externally a stoic workaholic guy, but internally he's just a normal overworked gay whose brain blanks out when he has to interact with the EXTREMELY FLUFFY!!! VERY GOOD DOGGO!!!! MC, or the very hot human MC.

There are some misunderstandings at the start, mainly because A. MC is a literal doggo and B. MC is older than the oldest grandpa, but they deal with it relatively quickly and cleanly. MC's interactions with the ML and the modern world are funny and cute, he's really like a big human-shaped dog. I am infinitely jealous of the ML for finding both his dream dog and his dream man (who is also my dream dog and dream man). Once they get together, the freaking out is unfortunately over, but it's also cute seeing them tease each other and trying to live in their 2-person world but constantly getting interrupted.

The first 30 chapters is the "crush developing" stage; c30-40 is the getting together stage, and beyond that is the dating/pre-meeting the parents stage. The plot is a romance with a police procedural (I think that's the right genre) happening in the background. It's a decently interesting plot, but MC and ML are so OP that everything tends to go too smoothly so it may get boring for some readers. The story is also FULL of world building and demon/cultivation theories/ideas which can be either very interesting or very boring to people. I enjoy this WN, but I can see where some people might not like it.

ML is an elite in bureau. Kind of courteous and standoffish at first but conquered by MC's fluff and face lmao. MC is a clueless dog 9.9 gods barely mingling with humans so forgive him for being slow. He only know pure brotherhood ok!

Prologue arc is basically MC settling down in human world and ML having gay panic around him. So still slice of life ish before the adventure kick in.

On the good side, it didn't take long for them to get together, this novel is basically them dating and overcoming trials. The novel is sweet sweet sweeeeet. <<less

The story starts pretty peacefully. There's nothing yet to cringe on and hopefully still nothing on the future. It seems really fluffy and lighthearted, a very good story to read after an overwhelming one. Most importantly, the translation is really good! The name is so misleading yo~ I wailed the first time I saw MTL in the translator's name. But!! It's actually a really high quality website and translation, not confusing and very esay to read. Read it yo~

This seems pretty light and fluffy and there is no red flags in the characters' personalities thus far. The interactions between MC and ML are also pretty light hearted and fluffy. Looking forward to more chapters :) Haha Baiju is such a flirty old dog Xiao Yao is also such a fanboy haha so cute <3

Just minus 1 ⭐️ in my rating (my rating is 4 not sure why it’s showing 3) because at chap 32, although it’s kinda a fluffy read, I feel like it’s just too slow burn for me at the moment

I don’t know if it’s just because my mood is kinda low these days but reading this was kinda tedious for me, I really tried to push through like I wanted to stop reading around chap 15-20 but I wanted to continue trying

Anywaaaaay, it’s a good read if you’re looking for a kinda smooth sailing, fluffy kind of novel
