A slow but rewarding read for me. With start on a game but slowly arc coming to the reality it is good and different. Like almost all Chinese novels it does show off china power a lot but story-wise it is excellent for me. If you like MMORPG-type novels it is one of the recommendations for sure.

@Kemori I agree with the other one star comment. I've read the novel up to chapter 460 and all it is is just mindless grinding and ally recruiting. There is no clear end point in the novel and the author likes pandering the novel with loli girls. Basically the epitome of a harem genre. The MC seems to always win and always suffers little no consequence, and when he is in a dilemma, he always solves it easily through 'luck' and cheats in the end. With another girl anyways. Most... more>> of the side characters and allies that are not enemies in the story have no purpose other than to be there or just... be part of his s*upid harem.

The MC's personality also takes it too far. If you want to write an arrogant character, then do it properly. The MC is always confident of himself (even though he has a right to be) but it makes him make irrational decisions sometimes and at this point he's just a horrible character no-one can relate to or like.

He may as well be just the side story villain with how he acts, and his story already lost meaning in the first few chapters.

Whenever the author throws in another female character, he doesn't actually give half of them a real personality, and if you want to write a good character in a good story, then actually give them a purpose and personality and backstory. Don't do it for the harem.

ALSO. ALSO. It's just unacceptable how the MC is later married, then continues to flirt and 'go' with other girls. Thats cheating. and how can his wife just accept it? Li Jihye, you have a horrible husband. <<less

Honesty, no reviews makes sense here. The story could have potential, but either the author is in middle school or drunk majority of the time.

The characters and countries are beyond dumb, like mentally I didn't think it was possible to write something so uneducated that it made me lose some braincells. In the so called rpg game, it says that the next world war will be held in it. Which is pointless in the first point since there was no reason for a world war and there are literally on... more>> SIX countries participating in the game.

Diving in to the 5 star review below, showing off China's power does not exist here. I legit believe author got a grudge with China. Up until where I am reading, China legit has never 'really won'. Its beyond kicking a man when his down, author fr spits and slaps dogsh*t on the chinese players. It's everyone against China, they just never win. For example, as soon as MC attacks another server, the whole game stopped and got an update to nerf the MC and discuss whether he should be deleted for his actions. But a few chapters later, the entire game attacks China and didn't get repercussions, when China retaliate, the other countries got god level npcs protecting them. Author legit made China as an tr*sh can for the world to spit on.

With the characters such as the MC, you really can't write an character dumber then this. His actions never made sense. With the other reviews mentioning his OP, that's kinda cap. Everytime he gains some strength, the author immediately debuffs him. And I MEAN immediately. Like dont buff him in the first place if you are just gonna take it away over and over again. What he got is plot armour. Unlike other novels where the plot armour grants them strength, this novel just gives MC luck to roll a lottery for him to win the next fight and stay weak after. Its completely pointless.

I don't believe there is a single smart character in this novel. For the MMORPG to be known as the second world, a literally arms dealer kid is controlling the entire US servers which controls every other country. A literally terriost was given the power to start wars. You telling me the government, developers and 100 million players didn't do its research when they did it for everyone else? Another pointless and tiliting factor is that EVERY male in the story is a borderline rapist or mol*ster.

There is no continuity in this novel, which just makes the whole novel pointless. It's obv after a 100+ chapters that the author had never picked up a history book or graduate highschool. <<less

Very underwhelming.

I've never really enjoyed the virtual reality mmorpg genre- it feels really bland and boring to me- the exception being one novel I read where he could bring items from the game into reality. If you're going to write a VRMMO novel, trap the MC in the world and get rid of the real world or at least minimise it to being inconsequential in the story- the only time people want to read fiction with a real world setting is when the MC is exposed to something unreal and... more>> playing an mmorpg is something most of us have done or do regularly.. It's not fun to read.

Somehow this manages to make the VR MMORPG worse.

The MC is poor, has LITERALLY nothing going for him in his life (oh wait, he is apparently good looking, for all he's managed to achieve with that, ex; keep reading) and is a literal cuckold, since his GF goes off with a rich guy. The only hope he has to do anything is to sell game items for money- this is an extremely boring premise for a story- people literally do this IRL it doesn't make for an interesting fiction/fantasy.

The transmuting idea seems great but in actual practice it's pretty boring and even the author knows how boring it is given that he literally skips 95% of the transmutations outside of boss fights or when the MC is low on HP.

The direction this is going is concerning also; it seems the author wants to incorporate the MC into being a pet for a loli which is screaming 'weeb' vibes at me. I'm not interesting in faux pet reincarnation stories. Queen's Hound had me cringing hard enough I don't need ANY more of that.

TL;DR: you can read literally any other VRMMO novel and it's exactly the same; except in those novels the MC will probably be more interesting because they have a better cheat. <<less

I can't even imagine people reading past this chapter after the author made such a poor decision. It really had the potential to be great. I mean, a lot of cliché parts were skipped, like the typical guild to winning the bet over the fiancée. Most novels would just let her be the female lead, but this one avoided that trap and pulled the uno reversal, which was nice. The concepts are good, but the world-building is questionable, and in some parts, quite bad.

In chapter 370, the author made the MC's dad, who is portrayed as a weak old man sweeping streets for a living, the most powerful figure in an animal fighting arena (which, by the way, is ridiculous they bet on anything and people just follow the made-up rules). The reason the dad kept this hidden was to teach his son to be a great person. Huh? And the MC just accepted it like, Yep, that makes sense. Huhhhh? The marriage part was overall rushed and illogical.
