This a very very slow paced story. First part includes their high school then leads to university. Its a good read if u want to pass time.

This was really cute and quite slow burn. Half of stories told about her enduring her secret love, so if you dont like slow burn, this is not for you. But I really like this.

The FL was a super shy girl, s*upidly in love with ML. However, what I like about her, she has her own thing in her life. She loved her parents, and she didnt follow everything what ML did. The ML was not overbearing. He was not cold. He just like to keep a distant to other girls. He knew what he wanted and did anything to have it. The way he treated FL was sooo good. He never challanged FL to go out of her zone. He never tried to make her jealous too. He loved her, and he knew she loved him, and that was enough for him. A cute read. FL is timid and introverted, a caring warm-hearted girl who works hard to better herself. ML is smart, right-minded and is sure in what he wants and believes. The secret love is really hitting close to heart; it was bitter, sour, yet at the same time she can't seems to stop herself from falling deeper. I also find myself enjoying the friendship in this, everyone is so supportive to each other.

What a beautiful read. I stayed up overnight until 7am to continue reading this because it was written so captivatingly. Anran and Lou-ge were both complex individuals and seeing their both perspective yearning for each other was heart warming and I absolutely loved the author's writing style and how she showed Anran's emotions rather than telling them straight out.

im so happy that I picked this novel. This one is soooooooo good. I love everything about this novel.
this novel has 3 phases: the lemon phase (when anran had the unrequited love), the soda phase (when luobai pursued her), and the sugar phase (when they were in relationship).
on the first phase, you would feel sour because of the one side love. You know, I could relate anran so much, because once I was in her place, to like someone secretly and didn't dare to get closer with him. That's why when I read at the first place, I was so frustrated. I experienced that, I also felt the same as anran. But anran definitely went worse, because she liked someone who was so loved by many people and he didn't even remember her name (at first) even tho they were classmates.
their interaction when they were classmates was so cute. They only had some interactions directly, but they absolutely gave big impact for anran.

that was the ending of first phase. After anran moved to other city, it was time skip until she entered collage. The started of soda phase.
she met luobai after two years because they were in the same club. This, luobai took first step to get closer to her. He was the one who asked her wechat and phone number, he was the first one who asked to meet and had dinner together. You would see luobai world-class flirting during this phase. And I couldn't stop screaming because this man for sure was smooth af.

the last phase was sugar when they started dating. It was happened on their first year. And I will give you warning, this phase will give you cavity. They were so SWEET. And luobai became more and more shameless each day poor our shy ranran.
that was the plot. No necessary drama and misunderstanding, just two people being each other's first love and getting together. I also super love their friendship. Both anran and luobai had their own circle friends and they became familiar to each other. They were so good. Usually you would see squad in a novel max have 5 people, but their squad had 10+ people lmao

about our FL and ml

an ran! She was introvert, super shy baby, and that was why she wasn't brave to talk to her crush. But she was so kind, so gentle, so hardworking and smart. She was considerate to people around her. And she was kind and help the others, even strangers she saw on the road. And even though she liked someone, she still thought rationally, didn't have muddle head. She knew what she wanted and she worked hard to get it. Even during her heartbroken era, she still thought about her future and studied diligently to enter the top university to reach her dream. And you would see her character development through the story.
luobai! He was walking green forest. He was popular, he was top student and basketball player so it's not surprising that many girls at school pursued her. But he never gave them hope and always made clear that he wasn't interested. And when he realized he liked anran, anran was transferred already. He considered move to her school too, but he thought it would affect her so he silently liked her for two years during high school.

both anran and luobai had regret during their highschool, so when luobai pursue her, he made up the regret. It was sweet.

ok I think I need to stop writing here. But if you like slowburn romance and sweet love story with both MCs are good, read this one.

I’m a sucker for slow burns and unrequited love stories so the beginning was quite enjoyable for me. Nothing that really.. Spoke to me compared to other novels I’ve read. It just seems like a girl’s secret crush on a guy and her reluctance to show that. I wasn’t a fan of the ML (not that he’s lacking qualities I mean he’s literally described as perfect) but he also feels a little one-dimensional. I’ve gotten older and my taste in romance have changed so take my review lightly. I’d consider rereading again but I think this one is a simple read for anyone looking for a quick romance. In a nutshell, the story is about:

2/3 into the story: the early stages of their university life and the turning point, as well as the progress in their relationship

3/3 or the last third of their story: them busy trying to rewrite their past regrets in high school, which was unnecessary. No regrets, they say, but it got really boring here. ahhhhh!!!!! this was actually an amazing read. FL Zhou Anran is quite introverted, shy and lowkey. She was in love with the ML Chen Loubai for long time. Due to some issues during their school time she transferred to another school, ML by that time already had a good impression but by time he realized she transferred and he ended up knowing about her crush on him... All in all it was pretty good.

I've reread this twice. The story is really sweet and sour. As the title suggests, the ML and FL have three phases to their relationship. The first phase is the Lemon phase, where FL experienced the sour taste of having a one sided crush. Then, it changed to the Soda phase, where FL experienced the fizziness of having the ML pursued her, just like when you drink soda, you can taste the tingles it leaves on your tongue. Then, the third phase, which is the Candy phase, where they start... more>> their relationship and everything about it is teeth rotting. <<less

I love this story so much, and I come back to re-read it every so often because it is so fluffy. I noticed that almost all of the chapters are gone now TT. It makes me so sad that I can no longer find the translated chapters anywhere online.

I really really really love this one. It shot up to my top five favorite Cnovels of all time.

It made me feel a lot of things.

Although if one thing, I think I got diabetes by the end (if only they could've dragged the high school part longer just to see our ML realize more how awesome the FL lead is). We got the "what if" chapters, but to be honest, I would've liked it better on the main story line.

Although, aside from that, this novel is perfect for me.

It's really cute that I couldn't resist and MTL'ed it!! It's a typical sweet yet sour story of having a secret crush with someone you could never really have a chance to be with. FL is a timid girl who doesn't dare to look at him openly, while ML is someone who 'shines' wherever he goes. He's always the center of attention, while she is part of the crowd that gathers around him to watch.

The story itself doesn't contain any angst, it's only a bit sour. But like lemon, the... more>> sourness isn't enough to actually dampen the taste, but makes you feel a bit refreshed (and thank the novel gods for that). I guess with the number of novels I read where both main leads have countless regrets that they wished to make up to from their younger years since they knew each other, this novel was heaven sent to me as a gift because thankfully they didn't miss out on each other for too long. This review may be a bit biased (as I looooove this kind of trope very much—secret crush turns reciprocated aka A fell first and B falls harder) but it's a really great novel to read as a breather from heavy novels you read or if you just want some pick-me ups.

A very cute love story, both bittersweet and sweet (bittersweet comes before sugar overload). This kind of romance generally never develops to such a happy end in real life however, so don't read it for absolute realism. Read it instead for the lovely romance, overall slow burn, and the ambience the author pulls off so well.

1000/10! This is hands down the best "one-sided crush coming true" story I have ever read. I have so much to rave about!

Both FL and ML are exceptionally well-written. They are awesome as individuals and even better together. What makes this story so special is how balanced it feels; it's never just one person putting in all the effort.

Reading it gave me such a bittersweet feeling. Who doesn't have regrets from their youth? But Chen Luobai is determined to set everything right, leaving no room for regret, and he seizes... more>> his second chance to pursue Zhou Anran. It truly feels like the author knew exactly what we, as readers, were longing to see.

The extra chapters feature an alternate timeline "what if Zhou Anran didn't move to another school?" were absolutely epic. They sent my emotions spiraling. The contrast between the two stories made me feel Chen Luobai's regret so deeply. In one reality, he gets to accompany her through three years of high school, while in the other, he can only secretly visit her for two. I was holding back tears T ^ T

This couple truly redefines what it means to cherish someone. Zhou Anran, in her own introverted way, tries to protect the ML and treasures every little thing he gives her like it's a precious diamond. And Chen Luobai? The ultimate green flag. He is incredibly romantic and completely aware of her regrets about being too timid in showing her love in early days. He puts in 1001% effort to rewrite their history.

I also loved every side character. The friendship between the FL and her besties, and the ML with his entourage, added so much fun and depth to the story.

And I thought I could relax after they finally got together! I was totally wrong. They just raised the ambiguous tension to a whole new level. I don't think I had a single moment to breathe while reading this entire story.

If you are like me and like to read slow-burning, fluffy, and teeth-rotting novels without much drama (though, this can be a little sour at times), you'll very much enjoy it! Although it follows more or less the same cliche plotline about unrequited love, it features an introverted MC who was by no means dumbed down despite being s*upidly in love (like they somehow often are?), but ended up being very cute instead. ML treats her really well, and they are so cute together.

The "What ifs" side stories were also... more>> really nice. Maybe a little bittersweet knowing how it could've gone instead, that such a small factor changed things like that, but they got their happy ending in the end, regardless. <<less

It was good, there were a few cringe moments but overall good. I think I liked the alternative version of the story better though. It was much cuter and sweet. Especially since they are in the sweet phase for most of that version, i.e., before dating but all the innocent and cute interactions.

So good, really.

The main character's actions and personality were just so endearing and sweet, in my opinion there are not so many people that can love someone and want to protect them like she did. Likewise the male lead was just as good, I loved how he handled his relationship with the people around him, his friends, classmates, people not close to him and all that.
