If I had a word to describe this story, it would very calm and warm on the outside, but every sentence and every word can bring you many emotions. It is a very simple story about first loves by two people who have a unique way of thinking. How the author built the MC's character is very exceptional, at first glance, though she seems to be strange, but her way of thinking is very complex, once you get to know her, you will be entranced by everything about her. The... more>> MC is a girl who lives in her world, in my opinion, she is very similar to the MC of Best to Have Met You, however the MC in this book is more of someone who is comfortable alone. This novel isn't just about romance, it focuses on how people grow and mature in high school, and the things they learn as they grow older and experience more situations. There is a subtlety in their relationship, both are not very outgoing people, but they are very comfortable with each other and don't have a problem understanding each other even if they aren't saying anything out loud. They are two people who are fated to be with each other, when you read the novel you can tell that these two people were meant to be with each other, no matter what.

In my opinion, this isn't a really sugary novel, because there is a sort of depth to the story of a unique girl who is trying to grow up and overcome all these experiences she hasn't dealt with before. Overall, this is a very simple story, with no love triangles, or any annoying barriers, it is very well-written as well. Their love, although they are very young, it is sure to last centuries. <<less

This could have gone south very easily had it been written any differently. It is a testament to the writer's ability that the story did not come off as cliche or cringy, and instead left you refreshed. Chapter 61 was dumb. I totally could have done without it. It is one thing to be bold and experimental with your creativity. It is another thing just to throw that in your last chapter, and expect your readers to just roll with the main characters facing such a big conflict in the last chapters. If you wanted to write that in, you should have written it into a sequel, not introduced this new conflict, and then shoddily resolved it in the very last chapter. <<less

I've rated it 4 stars, as it's a good novel. I have to say it's not my cup of tea tho, it's kinda slice of life, with incredibly slow progressing romance, the two leads are kinda boring, the story kinda childish

A very bewildering novel, and equally weird FL. FL is an oddball who's overly frank and also have weird train of thoughts. It would have been funny, but the overall story ended up pretty lame, boring and draggy. ML is your typical top student popular boy, nothing special or interesting. Overall, nothing special, relatively dry school romance.

Kudos to the translation team for the effort but the many translation comments and irrelevant gifs/images were a little disruptive... Ah wellz

I love this novel so far. There is no angst, just a slow love between two extremely smart individuals with very low EQ. The friendship portrayed between the four main characters is awesome. If only everyone had that kind of understanding and instant trust. I also like that the FL is not portrayed as dumb and naive as is usual in most romantic novels and the male lead is quiet and may be a bit arrogant, but not an a**hole. Writing style is great. A bit slow but you will... more>> be smiling all the way!

I don't understand how old they are. After trying to read a bit about China's education system, I assume they are in 11th grade. That would make them around 17. Or they are first year undergrads, which would make them older than 18.

I love transgreek group for translation. Good selection of novels and serious effort in translating. They stick to schedule and I rarely find grammatical mistakes! <<less

I'm quietly loving the writing! I feel in love with the descriptions, I literally can feel the warmth and I can visualise the space they are in! I'm loving the interaction between the characters.. for some this might be slow paced, but to me the beauty and enchantment lies right in this pace! I've been traveling to my teens, in my particular case 21 years lol, the first time I feel in love... can't wait to dive further in the story!

Usually, I really hate FLs who are "weaker" in the power dynamics between the leads (gotta love equality and hate dense and s*upid FLs who only gets together with ML due to plot armor 🤪). But damn does the FL in this story is my exception. The FL is suuuuch an innocent yet mature, not OP intelligent but so rational, shallow but very profound. She is thaaaaaat good. Honestly, I fell for her HAHAHAHHAHAHA. If you want some fluffy highschool romance, this is for youuuuu~

Awww!!! What a heartfelt story. Such a good read. Laughing so hard by the FL's weirdness and humor.

This is really a nice story. I would recommend this to everyone.

Edit: (Jan.2, 2021)

I read this for the second time and I'm suddenly feeling very melancholic and empty. I missed the feeling of youth. I'm filled with the longing for something that is long gone, and I can't help but want to take a glimpse of it, even if just a little. This novel just gave me that longing.

The story is slow-paced but enjoyable. It's cute and warm romance during high school. FL has unique way of thinking. ML is cool and somewhat understands FL. I like the overall story, even though in the middle novel, I feel a bit impatient and bored, maybe because of unnecessary scenes. I enjoy reading it to the end, but I don't reread it.

First, I'll say some of the things I love about this novel... I adore the protagonists, their adorably sweet... I love how the FL thinks, she have a different way of thinking.. Very unique & naive (at times).. The ML is Cool, but not cold, he's just a bit taciturn.. Its actually fascinating how the ML slowly develops his feeling, or rather, he realize his feeling with the FL.. Second, I say some things, what I don't like about this novel... This novel has a smooth start then the fascinating... more>> development of the two protagonist, But it bothers me when the author has to add some scenes/characters that aren't really needed to be on it for the story to develop..

Like for example:- The part where Shi Meng is brutally bullying the FL... & goes out of hand to the point that the FL's dad shows he actually has the power (wealth/authority power) manipulate some things for his beloved child.-The last few parts where the ML lost his memory... REALLY!!! Is there any twist better than that? And it was inserted at the epilogues! I actually get disappointed on this parts..

I don't know why this novel have bad ratings, this is a good novel to past time, no boring chapters, had a slow start but not decrease the quality of the novel, if you like heart warming and fluffy novel you should try to read this

This book was a really refreshing read for me, I love that this was not a instant male lead falls for female lead with no rhyme or reason. I like the female lead cos she was not the typical annoying type and she's rather funny. The romance was a slow burn which is my favorite as well. The thrill of guessing whether the male lead likes the female lead was what got me hooked to the end.

Tbh 4.5 SOLELY because the author made an inexplicable decision in the 2nd epilogue. Otherwise it would have been a 5 (maybe the author just got lazy???)

Anyhow, this is a heartwarming school-life novel full of fun friendships and cute romance.

This novel is cute and interesting. It's about a group of 4 friends and their time in high school. So far there's been no angst, no annoying characters, nothing infuriating like in other romcom novels on NU. This novel is honestly one that is easy to read and enjoy, something that's a nice break from the vast amount of novels filled with transmigration or reincarnation and revenge.

This is one of the best story I've read so far. It comes with your typical cold and aloof ML but a very unique and amazing FL. This story reminds us of those deep stored away memories of our youth. So naive but so beautiful.

Best regards to the author for such a heart-warming read, and Loads of Thanks to the translator for the awesome work. Waiting for more from this Author and Translator.

I'm glad that I came across this novel. It's so sweet and heartwarming. Romance is not the focal point of this story rather it's focused on ML, 2nd ML, FL, 2nd FL's friendship and also their development from stranger -> friend -> best friend -> lover.

This is a slow burn type story and don't expect some romantic scene in the earlier chapters (in fact, you'll only find it near the last chapter where those 4 finally become lovers). But that doesn't mean there is no sweet moment at all when... more>> they were only friend.

Their high school moments are definitely the best while university moments are not that memorable (maybe because there is no Peng Zige and Su Zi). And the ending would be perfect but it's ruined by:

ML's sudden amnesia before ML and FL's wedding. I don't know what the author thought when he/she decided to make ML forgets about FL. Maybe to prove that although ML forget FL, he'll eventually fall in love with FL all over again? But what about those precious memories from their high school and university time?

It's actually a nice story. The romance is very subtle. It's a different kind of love story as both the ML and FL are often described as quiet, indifferent, and cold. I guess what makes the story interesting is how two people who seem to be devoid of emotions and indifferent to "like" can face and build a relationship. The romance is very, very subtle. I like the MC, she is just like the MC of Best to have met you. How she thinks and her little quirks are unique, you will grow to lover her. I did and although the love can be a bit slow, it so so sweet and fluffy, you can’t help but fall in love with it. The two best friends also are one of the great characters
