Considering how this novel is so popular in Japan, I guess the tsundere heroine type is still relevant there. That said, this novel brings that archetype to a whole different level. I mean damn, FMC in this one is a very exaggerated tsundere. She gives me that Zero no Tsukaima heroine vibe, even though the other is much more physically abusive.

The story is pretty generic, but the way it is told is pretty decent, and that is one of the stronger points of the novel. The other characters beside the... more>> FMC are all pretty interesting, and have their own struggles. And more importantly, they are given CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, unlike the FMC. Why, author? I know you wanna milk the tsundere hype in Japan, but do you have to sacrifice such a crucial component of good character writing for that?

The other thing that bothers me about this one is the excessive amount of boke-tsukkomi dialogues. I guess their humor is really dry that they have to rely on this instead of investing more on character traits or using other methods instead of this overused crap. I know D-Frag also used this troupe very frequently, but they actually executed this masterfully, and most of the jokes were on-point, and were actually compatible with the ridiculousness of the story. Here it feels out-of-place, since this story has a pretty realistic setting, and the characters aren't doing weird sh*t all the time like in D-Frag, while the jokes are such nonsense. <<less

A good entertaining work. I do feel sad about Hojou Shisei (Hojou Saito's cousin sister). Only because they are related by blood that she can't be with him. I really liked her character far more than Sakuramori Akane's.

Saito seems easy going and not much can be stated about his character. (At least, my lexicon seems unable to describe him.)

The transition in their (Akane and Saito) relationship is slow and steady but at the same time pretty impressing and heartwarming with comical aspects to it. Akane's Tsundere nature and... more>> negligence of her feelings towards Saito makes it ever more amusing but at times it do feel a bit tedious making you scream in frustration, just make up with him already.

A quite entertaining and humourous piece of work. I am looking forward to read the next volume nevertheless. Onegaishimasu, Translator-san. <<less

Overall novel is great, but mind you, this only can happen in anime 2d world.

Author didn't spend time to make it realistic as possible but instead 2d world as possible. Which I don't mind. But sometimes cliche happened, and their personality sculped with only 2d characteristics and sometimes feels really really fake.

They act childish, which happened because they never in a relationship before. Actually this kind of novel didn't suit my taste, but im trying to not biased and objectively as possible.

... more>> Pros :

Author knows how to make the story enjoyable.

Pace is great for every volume.

pros/cons

Some people love 2D animeish world. All characters in this novel is 2D, yes. There's no 3D character here, (because author decided to make it generic light novel) maybe some readers will like it. But maybe other readers don't.

I won't give rating, because I feel bad if I give it low. But atleast I wrote my review. <<less
