Ichijou Jun is a high-school student. However, he is a loner and even on lunch break the only thing he does is studying. As a result of great effort, his test ranking rose and while he was satisfied with his loner life,

– Hi-hi-hi… virg*n, teach me agaain♪

– Shut up, b*tch. Let’s finish it quick today, OK?

– Yay!

One day, it was decided that he will help blonde gyaru Tachibana Karen, central figure of the class, with her studies. Loner during lunch break, tête-à-tête studying after school… So continues the double life.

Tsundere-like, but good at taking care of people Ichijou-kun.

A bit mischievous Tachibana-san with an innocent smile.

With this and that happening, the two get along so well that others cringe.

Well this is a fun one. The author surely know what he's doing, thoughts and actions all have meaning to them, either logically or emotionally. Character developments are massive and crystal- clear with some small unrealistic part here and there, but that's just me nitpicking. The real worth however, is about how close to reality he shaped the characters, especially loner and the like, the way he described how we act, how we think, our problems and concerns are so precise I seriously thought he was talking about me for... more>> a sec. But of course, life isn't like a novel, there won't be a beautiful girl randomly starts taking interest in you, nor will there be kind and understanding people always following you. 10/10 hoping for more. <<less

I think it's safe to assume that this review will be like me just shitposting/rambling about the WN in its most generalized form. Will try to not actually spoil the entire series. Ok, let's start shall we?

Spoiler

It's to assume that you'd get a romance similar to "Otonari no Tensehi-sama" or "100 Things I didnt know About My Senpai", is prolly something that the whole world is wrong about. It's akin to like, saying you have a better isekai than "Mushoku Tensei"; or you have a specific arc that transcends Aisha Arc, "Lonely Loser, I'll Become Blonde Frivolous Gyaru's Favourite" as romance at its core does not wholly translate to what the entirety of the WN is all about because, from the moment I was born, from the moment I sleep; from the moment I've delve deep in my subconsciousness; I've thought 200 ways to kill myself but decided "hey why the f*ck not just live tomorrow amirite? LOL XD" and this entire premise is like the whole premise of this WN. This is like one of the most Japanese I've ever since in my entire life (well considering I'm not japanese) that you cant even argue that this MC's entire depress state is slighly exaggerated because, as far as I know around 200-300 yearly HSer in Japan kills themselves because they're literally being bullied in school or some shite I dont care about at this point in time because, hey.... I'm not dead. Like I cant even put this in such a classification of "fluff romance" because every single chapter I read I just think "wow... so MC killed himself.. Poor him... I mean he's JK so he must have lots to think about" and this narrative that spans from the prologue to who knows when will it end; will continue this depressing tone to the point that it undermines everything the WN wants to shove down your throat. Because the whole narrative from slowly starts to gradually shift then you're like "wow... so MC is finally gonna think a bit more" and then ch. 50 (or something) hit you like a truck and you're like "oh shite, I forgot the author is actually Japanese" and this is the I felt like one of the most gradually tilting thing in this WN... Like MC's denseness is being undermined by his depressed mentality that just, hit you that 1 ch of enlightenment and then you ask yourself "oh wow, so this is gonna be good already" and the author actually thinks the different way and just restarts MC's mental state to being depress again... Like nothing too big, you've just read like what... 40 chs of the WN, and you're back to square one again? Like nothing too big, I mean it's WN so it's not that long... right? You know, why not pad some chs while where at it.... teasing chs... f*ck YE WE LOVE THAT AUTHOR-SAMA YOU'RE LIKE SO f*ckING GOOD AT WRITING THIS FLUFFFFF MOMENT POGGERS IN THE CHAT! whilst, the actual fanservice of the entire WN is like the MC's having a high horse of being so f*cking egotistically, narcissistically depress that, I mean I guess... from the moment he was born, he mentally and physically ab*se himself to the point that he started to make a clown of himself and punch it every single second of his life to proclaim that it was divine's wish for him to be so f*cking mentally damaged, so egotistically, narcissistically depress... Like for f*ck's sake, I mean, the author didnt even give a single f*cking cent on MC's plead to kill himself because, it was morally right, it was so morally right to torture this poor soul...

The Heroine is ummmm, copypasta at this point on, I mean give a f*cking author that actually has depicted a westerner that lives in Jap correctly... Yah none.... She's so f*cking basic, so f*cking written to the point that you're like "wow... I didnt even know this who*e will be get f*cked by the MC because.... s*x IN ROMANCE IS NO-GO! s*x BEFORE MARRIAGE IS NO GO!" kind of heroine that is very contradictory to what the whole thing it wants you to say... but I guess they call this "gap moe" like ummmm... Like it's the only existence? WOW! Which puts me in the scenario of like... actually; do we really need this bit*h heroine? Like MC's self deprecating himself is prolly a better, worthy of a novel than ummm self-inserting this MC and making a mess out of it.

The slow romance is like, well I already know from reading "100 Things I didnt Know About My Senpai" what this tag means already. It's like one of this things that you feel like you might was well; forget the everything in the middle because you're pretty much so tired of reading this whole f*cking bullshitry that, like... jump in the ch.59 already... Like f*cking do it... Nothing of value was really lost that much in my honest opinion....

Overall, did I enjoy reading the WN? Hell yeh, my f*cking incel tilt was so f*cking high that every chapter I read, every word I read I have to throw my goddamn phone just to have that mental focus, that sanity to keep on reading... It's a very nice romance, the moments are so fluffy it puts me in in the atmosphere of the goddamn world and the I jump from therein... Like that's how much of an effifany I get when I read this WN... It's so f*cking worth reading this WN that, f*cking hell if God is born right now, he'd prolly say in the Bible, "lads.... go read 'Lonely Loser I'll Become Blonde's Frivolous Gyaru's Favourite' because this is how I imp**gnated virg*n mary"

I expected more from something with a 4.6 rating. It's just another japanese romcom where the characters are overly obsessed with the MC's love life (hey mark, hows your s*x life?). None of them really act like real people, the personalities are written one-dimensional according to what role they play in MC's budding relationship, whether they're the cheap antagonist or the "characters that tease him about his new girlfriend" which is probably a solid 60% of them.

Very predictable plot. I guess this is mainly for people who want light fluff.... more>> I was deceived by the rating. In summary the entirety of the story is:

"fufufu MC is a gloomy loser virg*n but actually he's kind so we want him to not be a virg*n fufufu" <<less

So good!!

I've recently seen stories with this theme pop up (the "Why is the most popular/prettiest girl in class ___ with me?" theme) and undoubtedly I find this the best of them. The others are incredibly shallow and simple compared to this.

Well fleshed out couple and solid, gradual development. Best part I find about this is the intimate moments between them are well written and detailed to the point of sometimes being sickeningly sweet. And, something I find common in this type of story is, it's all about the couple... more>> - no annoying 'villains' or rivals around. Though, it's not all an easy path for the protagonist, he realistically faces challenges (within himself) because of his nature. <<less

A story of a gyaru who falls in love with a lonely loser. Very cute story, the MC slowly starts to get more popular and gets more friends.

Spoiler

as of chapter 32 it is known she is a pure virg*n who hasnt even had her first kiss yet

[collapse]

from what I’ve read so far

Spoiler

it seems the novel might end soon as he’s not really a lonely loser anymore, he’s turning into a popular riajuu instead

I felt like crying while reading this novel... it fills me up with so much warmth and extreme envy, also regrets for passing up my high school life without interacting that much with the others.

I love this novel's couple. Both of them.

This is good, a good read for if you desire a romance-based school experience. A bit unrealistic though. Besides the main character, everyone else is one dimensional.

The translations are good but could definitely use a proofreader. I always catch tiny mistakes while reading and they are really obvious, ruining the flow of a sentence.

It's just a classical, "Why is the best looking/Most popular girl/guy into a loser like me" but well written and paced. Not only that, but we have an actual reason why this popular girl fell in love... more>> which is definitely nice. <<less

Soo I just finished reading this. Haaaaaa~~ seriously though the entire read was just a pure dose of saccahrin (≧▽≦) /~┴┴ the story starts with a loner student named Ichijou Jun, and how he was changed by a girl, I recommend you read this series now don't even doubt if its good or not you won't regret reading this series. I wanna describe the characters but its already been written and anymore will be redundant ◟ (눈_눈) ◞

It's really good, but warning, like the description says, it starts to get really hard to read when the novel is almost over (around c50~) Also, the nerve of this guy to call himself a loner and other people normies when he flirts with his girlfriend every day after school, smh. There's no real antagonist in the story by the way, there are some small ones I guess but they are just there to further the protagonist's character development. Honestly, the lives of the characters are so pure and innocent... more>> that it makes me feel wrong reading it. Highly recommend if you like fluffy romance stories, but it isn't getting translated anymore, so you have to wait ages for the LN to finish translation if you want to continue. <<less

It's back up! Excellent. Unfortunately it seems like WN will no longer be translated but it stopped at a decent point, no cliffhanger or anything. End of an arc so to speak.

MC is a bit annoying considering his beta-male tendencies, but the dere moments really get me good. The best character here is definitely FL, she's really sweet and the more you learn about her, the more likeable she is. Supporting characters are likeable too, the more face time they get.

I like underestimated characters and he definitely falls into that... more>> category. Misunderstandings are also a huge hit with me, and this has a good number of those too.

The most notable part of this isn't showing up everyone who doubted MC but gaining confidence in himself and forgiving people who wronged him in a pretty subtle way. As someone who's had to find ways to both apologize directly and forgive subtly, the writing there is solid. It's easy to write a self-insert WN, but to be able to help us and inspire us to actually grow a bit is nice. <<less

This honestly just feels like a poorly written fulfillment novel... The main character while being a loner spends the entire time monologuing to himself with lines like "Trying to join the conversation without any reason, too unreal... I can't help but think of that. Just imagining it makes me want to cut my wrists. Before a problem of choosing a group to join, no amount of arms to cut is going to help. It's that bad." and the first real conversation with the female lead was when she was talking... more>> to him about people talking bad about him in class and he responded that he doesn't care what other people think about him and we get "FL: It's so sad... So you don't care about the whole class?" "ML: Well, it is not exactly like that..." "FL: Anyway, I do not like it. Don't like that bookworm is hated. Even though you are a good person. And Kind" (For reference I am quoting these directly, so the constant periods is the translation not me separating anything)

I really don't get why people are talking about what a great novel this is, the storyline feels forced with a main character whos values aren't properly set (It changes between different scenes, an example is he is ok with being a loner when inter-monologuing but then later inter-monologs about how he will cut his wrists if he speaks to someone) the female lead just feels like someone's fulfillment fantasy (My guess is the author was bullied in school and they want to believe that a beautiful girl would stand up for them) but it just overall comes out as feeling forced... If the main character is really at this level where he is inter-monologuing about not joining a conversation without a reason makes him want to cut his wrists he would be basically unable to form a conversation with a girl he believes is beautiful... my overall point is theres just a lot of inconsistencies and issues compared to other books of this genre (Although most in this genre of "most beautiful girl...." are pretty bad with it being far and between to get something with good relationship development that doesn't feel super forced) <<less

very good!

I really like the character growth of the MC. a little bit he began to understand his feelings and change his attitude by understanding what feelings he had to heroine.

the story is also very funny and heartwarming. especially the lovey-dovey scene they both made me smile while reading it.

... more>> and I suggest for those of you who like Romcom Modern Day to read this novel (to be honest lately I have read too much ISEKAI so I am clarifying with something like this: P).

It is also recommended to read this novel while looking at the illustrations... (heroine nice body (͡ ° ͜ʖ ͡ °)) <<less
