MC is bland and feels way too soft. The plot seems to be your usual jap MC with no free will of his own doing whatever the hell they told him to do.

Nevermind the theme of this novel is basically medieval Europe but with magic, I'm surprised that both his parents was okay with it after hearing that considering that it just sounds so foreign and out of place.
