MTL can be better at translating the meaning of the sentence correctly, but often reads like a summary and lacks the details or vivid descriptions of the original writing. Meanwhile the human translator didn't do a great job at editing (flipping character names) or some sentence subjects and meanings, but kept a lot of the charm of the original writing.

There's a part that both translators missed, which is the authors' play with words. At one point in the story, the MC meets an idiot in the bathroom and calls him "Mr. Ren, " then he says "oh, you're not Mr. Ren?" -> he's basically saying "Mr. Person, " "oh, you're not a (Mr.) Person?" as an insult, because in Chinese, to call someone "not a person" is to call them a bastard/jerk basically.

I'm sure there are tons more of these in the story, but I didn't bother reading the raws. This was just a super obvious one I could tell without backtranslating it in my head.
