Lee Yeonrok grew up an orphan, his life defined by hardship and a string of bad luck.

But he held onto one hope: his “Name.”

Five years after it manifested on his body, the call he had been waiting for finally came from the Matching Center. Filled with breathless anticipation, he went to meet his fated partner, dreaming of a sweet, romantic future.

Instead, he found three men waiting for him.

A Chaebol CEO. A Top Actor. A Cold-hearted Researcher.

Three Name Partners?

The situation was absurd enough on its own, but the reality was worse. From the moment they laid eyes on him, all three treated him with blatant, icy contempt.

“Aaaargh! You personality wrecks! You sons of b*tches!”

I waited five years for this? For a happy life with my soulmate?

Was I supposed to smile and be nice while they ignored me? Was I supposed to cater to people who openly hated me, just because they were disappointed that a “shabby thing” like me turned out to be their fate?

You just need to be patient while reading this. I like how the author reveals the flaws of the nameverse little by little. The character development is good, too. I also like how most of the characters start off unlikeable but slowly grow more affectionate toward the MC, Lee Yeongrok. Though, affectionate is questionable.

I have some mixed feelings about this novel but I trust the author so I'll keep going. The setting is unique. I've never read a nameverse with multiple partners before so I'm curious what will happen. The characters are all interesting since they have distinct personalities and their interactions with each other are funny. Yeon-rok is treated very coldly in the beginning so it was a bit painful to read but he is a very strong protagonist and well-loved by everyone else so it's not too bad. In the recent... more>> chapters you can tell all of the top's attitude towards him has completely changed and they all like him now.

The author has a warning about light skinship between the tops which includes...

Spoiler

Yeon-rok caught Yeom Cheon-ho (CEO) and Choi Hwan (Actor) kissing and Hwan later told Yeon-rok they started dating (Cheon-ho asked Hwan out). There were also mentions of them watching movies, leaning their head on each other's shoulders, going on dates, holding hands, and just being affectionate. In fact, Hwan hired Yeon-rok to be the third wheel on one of their date so he can help when things get awkward with Cheon-ho. Yeon-rok found out Hwan doesn't actually like Cheon-ho but he did start to develop real feelings. They broke up after Cheon-ho stopped Hwan from taking an unknown drug (he's an idiot) and saw him being affectionate with Moon Kyeon-woo (Researcher). It was messy. Cheon-ho was upset that Hwan just ended it without saying anything and he had to catch him and Kyeong-woo together. Kyeong-woo was also fanning the flame like a mistress. Hwan yelled at Cheon-ho "You said I was your first love!" but that was just his delusion. He also spat that Cheon-ho was just going through the motions when he was dating Hwan. Yeon-rok just saw the drama unfolding in real time and walked away.

Oh and also something about them going in a room and closing the door after the kiss? Not sure if that implies they slept together or just spent time together ¯_ (ツ) _/¯ Since the author said it's "light skinskip" I'll assume it's the latter.

Kyeong-woo had a lover before they became named partners. Yeon-rok saw him giving his lover flowers and kissing outside the house but they broke up because his lover cheated on him. He and Hwan began dating so more affectionate stuff (couple talk, kissing cheeks, and giving chocolates on Valentine's). They broke up in the end because of Hwan going to clubs and also dispute over who should bottom. Later on Kyeong-woo and Cheon-ho started dating... but actually turns out they weren't. They were just in talking phase and Kyeong-woo said he was too cold and calculating. They are all so messy it's crazy... literally all personality disasters...

They all come to like Yeon-rok for their own reasons and they've already finished dating each other so...I guess it's working out? Kyeong-woo and Hwan are even openly fighting over Yeon-rok but it looks like he is the most drawn to Cheon-ho (who is the biggest red flag imo). Personally, it was a turn-off seeing how badly they treated Yeon-rok (poor baby was having so many nosebleeds due to lack of contact) and how they were dating each other on and off even if it was just for superficial reasons and framed as comedy.

If anyone wants to avoid the first skinship moment it happens at the end of c19 and continues into c20

Warning: Me ranting about the tops...

Spoiler

Choi Hwan. Dipsh*t A. He is childish, fickle, lacks social cues, a heavy spender, a bully, and "a moron who graduated from Hanguk University" but he's also my biggest "hear me out". I find his banters with Yeon-rok funny and imo he gets along with him the most. He is the most playful and unserious person but he takes his acting career very seriously. He is the biggest Yeon-rok bully but he is also the most financially bullied by his family and is very docile to them. The duality is delicious (ˆڡˆ)

Once he starts crushing on Yeon-rok he's the biggest puppy top. He wants to spend time with Yeon-rok like when Yeon-rok was solving a puzzle. He gets called out on the spotted dino plushie so he brings his own spotted dino plushie to make peace with Yeon-rok and said it's a "friendship item". Oh, the dino he brought had a heart-shaped cushion attached btw ꉂ (˵˃ ᗜ ˂˵)

Kyeong-woo. Dipsh*t B. He ignored Yeon-rok the most in the beginning, took Yeon-du hostage, and said Yeon-rok was dumb several times and gave him brain supplements. He latched onto Hwan quickly after his breakup and then to Cheon-ho. He has a tr*sh personality but he is also the most relatable one due to him also being an orphan. When he loves someone he loves with his whole heart. Yes, he was cold to Yeon-rok but that's also because he already had a lover, whom he meets up with a lot and buys flowers for them everyday. He took Yeon-du hostage but he also puts little accesories on him like a scarf (?). He disliked Yeon-rok but also threw his body without hesitation to catch his head when he fainted. He took care of him when he was sick (there's ulterior reasons but still). He blocked the petals that kept blowing onto Yeon-rok's face.

Once he starts crushing on Yeon-rok he's the most loving top. He cared for Yeon-rok at the hospital and buys him food, makes him tea, etc. He's cold to everyone else but him.

Cheon-ho. Dipsh*t C. The most covert dipshit. He was the one who asked Hwan out first and didn't stop Kyeong-woo's advances. He got Yeon-rok's hopes up only to crush them. He treats his lover well on the surface but never actually puts his heart into it. He is like a revolving door letting others come and go. I remember one review said if there were another top he'd probably date them too and I agree. Another review said he puts his name partners in the house and manages them like he's managing concubines. He tests Yeon-rok with the white door and who knows wth he's doing in there for there to be blood on the carpet. It's speculated he was the one who planted someone to seduce Kyeong-woo's lover so that Kyeong-woo would break up with them (so he will focus on the name partners). It's also suspicious he had Yeon-rok's first love as his secretary and asked about her baby. It's also speculated he did that on purpose so there are no lingering feelings and sent her to Busan. He's just shady and capitalistic.

Once he starts crushing on Yeon-rok... well we don't know if he does or does not actually. He is the most guarded so it's never clear how he actually feels. He kissed Yeon-rok while he was sick and was also the most vulnerable with him and told him about his fear of height and childhood. They almost had another kiss moment but unlike with Hwan where he was smiling and in control he was gazing intensely at Yeon-rok. There was tension and it felt like he let his walls down for a moment there.

And the first one to confess to Yeon-rok...

Spoiler

Moon Kyeong-woo (Researcher)

This guy seriously... He even had the nerve to say it's unfair because Yeon-rok made him fall in love with him and that he knew at first sight he was going to eventually come to like Yeon-rok and will most likely like him even more in the future. To that, Yeon-rok just thought: "What kinda nonsense is this?"

He even tried to take advantage of Yeon-rok's loneliness and said they're perfect for each other because they would treat each other well and never betray each other. I'll forgive him though since the legendary plastic hand clapper toy (c9) came back out and so far all scenes with it has been hilarious.

The second to confess...
