This story left me a bitter taste after I finished reading it. The plot felt too shallow and although it had a happy ending, it felt so cheap and I couldn't even feel happy for the leads. Let me rant a bit.

  • I don't mind a naive and innocent FL but I didn't like it if she was overly naive either. I couldn't bear it when I read people around her sacrificed themselves for her but she was ignorant about it till the end and lived her carefree life without any burden.
  • FL and ML's relationship felt so cringey. Everytime they did it, FL always cried pitifully because she didn't understand anything about s*x and thought that ML bullied her while ML wasn't concerned about FL's feeling at all and kept going on with it. I know that FL was technically already at marriageable age but her mentality was still like 7 yo at most so it felt like ML did it with a kid.
  • Why? Why should Qin Sang die? She deserved happiness more than the leads. Oh, poor Li Weiran.
  • Why should Ji Nan act like a man all her life? And till the end, she couldn't even have a normal marriage life with second prince.

I had to drop 2 stars from my previous review as the premise started out interesting but it has gotten bland. The FL is 14 yo and her goal is to be a fairy thus she thought she is studying "divine cultivation" under the tutelage of ML. Love was forced as ML pressured her IMO. She is well-protected, naïve, and trust everybody. The ML is in his early 20s or late teenager? I know this is an ancient storyline but I cannot wrap my head around him being intimate with... more>> her as she is being threatened by him! There wasn't a time skip so she is still 14 yo! Dubious consent.

Per the story, this 14 yo FL is intellectually/emotionally disabled bc it was forced upon her for her safety (this storyline is beating the dead bush as it is redundant in other stories - trying to explain why the FL is dumb). I thought the FL's thought process is aligned with a typical 14 yo as she is emotionally unstable and she hasn't matured yet. Her secret sister lied to her about her pills and gave her a monthly blood pill that hid her distinct features yet made her dumb hence, she also hasn't started her menses yet. Accordingly, without starting menses, growth hormones doesn't kick in so the ML falling in love with her raised a red flag to me. Her secret older sister match-made them and I felt FL's will is taken away from the get go.

The story progressed to how she fell in love with ML but again this is a 14 yo. Side note: I get why her step brothers fell in love with her since childhood and they know she is adopted. IMO, storyline should have made her at least 17 yo from the onset.

The side characters made up for the stories as they are funny. Overall, plot is weak and story is bland <<less

It was ok.. nice romance but the story feels kinda rushed and the world building is not really good.. As for the drama in my personal opinion... It's a farce.. characters are either insanely obsessive, too EMO, or very indecisive, and their backstories are just way too dramatically tragic that turned everybody except for FL into a hypocrite..

Even though it's a happy ending I am not happy at all.. The one who deserve to have a happy ending didn't get one and she was only treated as a character to tell the backstory of FL as so author said not to get sad over her... BS!! even the reason she wanted to die is BS!! Author just wants to kill her for the tragic effect!

still ongoing on the first arc as I write this review but so far so good.

The FL was made dumb (for safety reasons) and the ML is being a complete tsundere. And I just feel sad for the supporting male leads coz' they've been with the FL the longest and having loved her in their youth, FL's all dumb and can't really process/understand their feelings for her as beyond family.

welp, let's just see how things will turn out in the end ?

This story is pretty good. The FL is very naive and kinda slow. But it’s because there a secret surround her. ML is a great Tsundere. Who at 1st really didn’t like FL much. But because of fate they end up together and ML slowly fall in love with her. There are some mystery, fluff and sweet moments in the story (and some good smut too). And there are also some bittersweet moments. Overall the story is wonderful, and the translation is very good. A good read.

It was okay. The translator is good and post chapters fast. I just think that the ending is so fast. There are lot of questions but I think the story is good for passing time.

The MC have a mentality of a kid so its like having a relationship with a child. Its a bit disturbing when theres a smut scene.

Well though story line with characters who grow on you.
