Zhang Ran was reborn in 1967 in this parallel world very similar to his previous life with memories of his previous life.

On May 19, 1990, Zhang Ran finished his overseas business trip and returned to China on a luxury cruise ship with full expectation and joy.

After the cruise ship traveled through a cloud of fog, Zhang Ran discovered that the time was directly in 2018, and their cruise ship had arrived 28 years later.

‘Overnight’, Zhang Ran’s originally lonely account suddenly added sons, daughters-in-law, daughters, grandsons, and granddaughters.

A sufficiently interesting slice-of-life about a reborn rich man who lost 28 years due to certain mystical phenomenon. In the lost 28 years, his beloved girlfriend passed away in poverty and his wealth were snatched up by his previously-trusted friends & employees. How would he regain his family and wealth?

This novel contained lots of business struggles and intrigues. The main ideas were super interesting. However, I don't think the author had written them well enough. Some arcs felt like child play. Even with all the supernatural powers and exceptional insights... more>> the the protagonist had, I know for certain that things should not be so easy. Thus IMO, the protagonist was not only overpowered but also "gary sue"-ish.

The ending too, seemed rather abrupt. The protagonist did manage to get the last revenge and consolidated his huge business empire. But some side characters and foreshadows were "missing in action". It was like the author originally planned it for longer, but had to end it earlier.

Also, the story had no romance. Don't read this if you are looking for romance. The protagonist was extremely loyal to his deceased wife.

Still, this was a nice slice-of-life novel for our leisure time. There were cute kids, and the premise were quite unique. And more importantly, the protagonist had his own charms. <<less

A good story for now and although I'm reading the MTL it's not difficult to understand. I was pretty suspicious about the story from the Description I mean

Spoiler

reborn + back in time + golden finger + travel in time again

That is totally overkill

[collapse]
but the story is moving smoothly and I hope it keep that way

Edit:

the novel has some problem I find in most CNs which are

Spoiler

the writer stuff things without a proper set up to the story - the MC is unrealistically OP - sometimes the characters' behavior don't look natural - the development is easily predictable

[collapse]

but it's not boring yet so I'll only drop 1 star (for now)

Edit:

drop another star

The writer keep inflating the MC deeds to the point that it started to get on my nerves. If this point isn't fixed in the next chapters i'll just drop this novel. I'm not lacking a novel with ONLY one person whom every f*cking achievement has to be attributed to.

Edit:

The writer is trying to make some prior setup before the events although not that outstanding but at least he/she didn't just add things thoughtlessly then justify it with some load of sh*t. The side characters are not completely characterless. Although the overly OP MC problem is not fixed the story is still bearable (for now)

Edit:

the score for now is 3.5

To be honest I'm currently a little confused about my feelings about this novel. I can see that the writer has has some ideas and wants to create something of high quality but maybe due to the lack of talent or being deeply affected by the current CN trend or any other reason, the results are not that outstanding. Sometimes the novel gets interesting with rich emotional content and benefit conflicts while sometimes it just feel forced, 2d and unnatural or even like some kids playing the shopkeeper game, besides
Spoiler

the writer should have chosen another country as home of the MC because it's impossible for china's authorities to allow a "capitalist" like the MC to exist, jack ma and many others are best examples... well... I hardly think any government will..
