Ji Shuqing realized at the age of twenty that she was living in an adult comic featuring one female and four male leads. The female lead of the comic is named Yan Qing, while the male leads are Jiang Qi, the haughty popular actor; Lu Jingshi, the aloof film emperor; Jiang Chengxuan, the domineering CEO; and Pei Si, the gentle doctor. They are all infatuated with Yan Qing but cannot have her, so they find a substitute to vent their desires upon. Later, fearing that their actions would hurt Yan Qing if exposed, they kill the substitute. Ji Shuqing is this unfortunate scapegoat. Worse yet, she has ended up in bed with one of the male leads. Ji Shuqing says, ‘Thanks for the invite! Being with someone is great, but I’d rather stay alive!'”
