Too few raters, thus it looked low but do not get intimidated by it, it's not really bad. It's an okay read and entertaining especially if you are a post-apocalypse fan. I like how MC loved his son so much. He learned whom his other parent is when ... more>>
Spoiler

it's the near end of the story. Despite not knowing they were biological father and son, Xiao Yin and ML gets along and is very close unlike other webnovels with jealous MLs

[collapse]

The summary is quite off as MC isn't really treated as a hidden boss. He's someone like a... beta player perhaps? As he was among the trapped and trained people by the weird alien system in a zombie world months before the Zombie apocalypse so his knowledge is ahead of everyone. (I just wish author introduced us to the other 10 though I understand they were perhaps from other countries)

If I were to describe the summary it should be: Popular actor who is actually a single dad in secret got abducted and spent a few months in a "Zombie Unlimited Flow". Story started when the "training" was over and the actual Zombie Apocalypse started. MC took his son (and their neighbor) to level up until they met ML. ML is Mc's long-time crush. As they travel from wastleland to city, the mystery of the Divine Seed were learnt by the not-yet-couple. MC sought to end the game meanwhile some alien villains come and ML's identity is revealed.

What made me interested is the apocalypse is introduced as a game-like so there was the excitement when they level up or there's a weapon loot. The world, the romance and the family is all good the only problem is the rotten peach blossoms (love rivals) I felt that it wasn't handled well.

Spoiler

I do agree with the former reviewer that the author did Secretary Bai dirty. I do see the foreshadowing that he's going to be one of the love rivals of MC but his end felt like he was just an afterthought. Like he went suddenly went OOC out of the blue just so he could meet his end? So weird.

Maybe if the story was extended to like 10 more chapters it would have concluded more smoothly IMO. Nonetheless, thanks for the ride still enjoyed it. <<less

Contrary to the blurb, MC is not a domineering and icy bottom, nor did he make his baby daddy suffer any. In fact, it's the complete opposite. MC is OP in fighting, but holds a secret love for the ML for seven years. At the beginning, the majority of the time MC spends with the ML, MC is vulnerable, timid, and suffers from lovesickness.
Spoiler

For MC, it's love the moment ML saved him from getting r*ped by his friend/obsessive suitor. For ML, it's a little confusing when they got together if ML actually loved MC or his part of spiritual power that MC absorbed, because for the first five years, ML didn't remember MC, then when they met again, ML saved MC from MC's professional downward swirl, yet still could not remember that they've met and spent a day wandering the mountain. After the apocalypse, the only reason ML could remember the MC was due to the familiarity of spiritual power. ML admitted it himself.

[collapse]
At first I liked the story and how confidently OP MC was in fighting, but later on the initial 5 stars I'd rated dropped and by the end of the novel, I rate it 3.5 stars. There were loopholes and hypocrisy the author tried to fill but it did not jive, and I found myself not liking the protagonists as much. I found them hypocritical (which I don't mind sometimes, but not here) and irresponsible. Warning, spoiler rants ahead!

Spoiler

1. I found it shitty how the author turned the capable secretary Bai (ML's junior brother fostered by ML's parents and ML's secretary) into a power crazed lunatic when MC and ML left "Earth". Yeah, he didn't like MC and found MC unworthy of the ML because secretary Bai knew how much ML's parents wanted ML to get marry and produce an offspring to help continue the Wood spirit bloodline, but secretary Bai had never done MC wrong. In fact, as a capable second hand man, secretary Bai did everything needed of him. He took care to make sure ML had a force backing him up in the apocalypse and kept the "team" running. It's effing sad that MC and ML created a team to fight zombies and all that but secretary Bai, while working his bu*t off, was never really counted as a team member, not even logistically. He was treated more like a plot point s*ave, being there, working like a dog to support the ML, then abandoned when MC and ML had other options out of the apocalypse, which MC feels is morally right not to help him farther after they left because ML's parents had fostered secretary Bai and provided him with things. It's fine if ML, too, felt he does not owe secretary Bai anything, but morally, having been together, worked together, though there may not be bonds of family, were there truly no bonds of friendship between them? They had gotten along well even before the apocalypse, but just with a coquettish complaint from MC, ML was ready to drop the loyal secretary who had been with him for years just to make MC happy. I found that scummy and morally wrong. I guess that's why the author turned secretary Bai into a power craving lunatic as a way to justify it and keep the MC and ML in the right.

2. I found it also shitty how when they needed a safe harbor/power base, MC and ML saved District/City D (a town ML had helped developed before the apocalypse, making the people look up and adore the ML) from tyranny, saving the people from certain deaths and hunger, and then right after the main antagonist was taken care of, the town and people were abandoned with nary a word of good-bye. While the people were worried and waiting for their Chief and deputy chief to return, MC and ML were off happily developing the secret realm to receive ML's persecuted people, people from the wood spirit tribe. If they had wanted to leave, why couldn't they have develop a leader to take care of the city? This is like someone adopting a child, feeding them, treating them kindly like a human being, earning the kid's trust and adoration, then several months later, secretly abandoning them at an amus**ent park. It would had been better to just not adopt in the first place! How effing shitty!

3. I get that when they left the "earth" for the secret realm, they said, and promised, they would no longer interfere or fight for power, because they were too OP they could rule the world, yet when secretary Bai went cray-cray for power and demanded help from ML while threatening the protagonists' team members, MC descended back to "earth" and decided to help a friend/neighbor in a different district/city with OP spiritual trees that grew all type of artilleries. Unfortunately, the author also turned this secret second ML rotten, falling into humankind depravity. Then when the guy who'd kidnapped MC and MC's child for a month to use as a power up pawn confronted MC about breaking his promise not to interfere, instead of telling this guy off, MC is racked with guilt and kidnaps the governing officials of the next biggest city for him as a way of compensation. 🤦‍♀️

4. When emotionally unstable, MC goes into a mindless, super OP, zombie summoning mode. I understand the first two times but the last partial one towards the end of the story was s*upid, making MC even more s*upid. The sacred tree said as long as MC could control his emotions and not be stimulated into a rage, the tree could eventually cleanse the origin of the data virus from MC's body. The tree doesn't know how long it would take but basically if MC just remained in the secret realm and not descend to earth, he would be fine, since the secret realm populace was filled with peace loving wood spirit tribes people, and the main trigger of MC's mindless rage was threats towards his son, but instead, MC has a breakdown, fearing to infect the secret realm, he decided to abandon his seven year old son in the peaceful secret realm and roam the dangerous earth with ML for ten years without ever contacting their son (s). That's how long it took to get rid of the virus in his body. This also aggravated me because apparently MC's seven year old genius son was old enough to be left to run the secret realm but not mature enough to be told why MC and ML had to roam outside the secret realm. MC's son was old enough to kill zombies and dig through their brains for crystals, but not to roam about with his parents. WTF! MC's son was the most important thing to him pre-climax but pro-climax, MC's son was a plot point author use to show MC's white lotus-ness. When MC and ML returned after ten years, I understood and was glad MC's son was mad and refused to talk to his parents but when the plot god made him give in and listen to MC's excuse, I was (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Fine! But how could they disappear for ten years without ever contacting their son. They'd developed a way. Yeah, MC said if heard his son's voice, he'd want to run back, but he was fine abandoning him for TEN YEARS when before, MC was determined to return to his son after being gone for 3 months. Yes the wood spirit tribe have a long life span, but MC was born a human, lived 16 years as a human before becoming part Wood spirit due to ML's powers, and another 5/6 years with human mentality. How can he justify the abandonment by saying they have plenty of time? Yeah, MC's son is a wise cracking genius who pricks MC with life facts yet at the end of the day, he is still a seven year old child with a child's emotional development. If my parents abandoned me for ten years with no contact, then came back saying it was to protect me from the very small chance of getting infected (which MC had developed a anti-viral potion for) I would cut off all contact!
[collapse]

Phew! I needed to get that off my chest. When I was done reading, though there were aspects I'd enjoyed, I'd ended liking the protagonists less than when I started and though I do not regret having read this novel, I would not re-read it again.

I like overall just, I'm dissapointed that author put all men in MC team, non any woman in his team. And the way author make mostly women so disgusting and cheap, women are delicate at least have a mercy toward them if they not have bad intention, author make 90% women all are bad. I also woman, so I feels like kinda author have hatred towards women I think.

honestly, I'm enjoyed at the first and middle part because MC show off his op side, after at end part I feels... more>> a little bored because mostly MC show support side, I want to see he fighting like how ML did, not as supportive side😩 <<less
