The novel is as comforting as hot thick beef stew over a bowl of steaming on a cold day with the news playing in the background. The characters are like carrots and potatos, the world building is strong and very distinct. The development is present and sharp like melty cheese you put on top (don't judge me, try it when you can).

It's really good. I sat at my desk and tried to decide how the hell to write this in a way that does how I felt about it justice.... more>> Instead, I got a message from my food delivery service. (Yes, I ordered beef stew. Leave me alone!)

I recommend it. It's far from perfect but I did enjoy it immensely. It's probably comforting for me. (Ugh, I want chicken nuggets now. Not that it reminds of chicken nuggets.)

I liked it too much!! I really really like this author, I love the characters they create. This is a story with quite some fate involved, with people being connected and the past playing an important role in the future, there's karma for the good and bad deeds (not in a face slapping sense).

Although the MC was an older woman she has a pretty youthful personality (not like a teen though). I mean, unlike some grumpy hags, but she also isn't immature like some old transmigrated/reborn characters that some writers... more>> create. She's just a woman that likes teasing the younger generations. Older people and her past life's acquaintances are also pretty youthful even if they are "old", after all even if you've grown you can still have a good sense of humor. Anyway, it's a good story and I absolutely love this author's sense of humor and characters. It's pretty similar to their other novel "I Have the Aura of Overbearing President" but it doesn't feel repetitive, the theme is different and there are no recycled scenes, but it has similar characters (keen character, fangirl character).

I read it without knowing much, but the title is really suitable. Anyway, I just want to say that this is really good and I would find myself subconsciously smiling while reading it. I don't know if it is that good or if it just really fits my standards, anyway I think it is now one of my favorite novels. The MTL is pretty good, it is fairly easy to read, there could be some pun out there, but you can still recognize it.

But why is there no romance tag? I didn't want to spoil it because I read it thinking there would be absolutely no romance since she's old and there's no romance tag... then I saw the ML and I was sad that this wasn't romance, but I was pleasantly surprised hehe. There was the thrill of thinking there would be nothing, although I was also a bit anxious because I kept liking him more and his ML aura kept increasing and I was fearing what would happen... aaaaaaaa anyway this was good hehe. But there indeed wasn't much romance, she just found someone that could understand her. Some romantic extra chapters wouldn't be bad though... but this is not the nature of the novel so mayhaps not, it's good just like this.

I don't know if someone would be against their romance, but I think it is fair, they both are mature adults and are on the same wavelength. Maybe it feels a bit weird but tbh the ML is a pretty mature adult.

get in contact with her niece/pseudo daughter and prove her identity with her niece embarrassing childhood stories and dirty secrets. It was mind-blowing! the novels always use super flimsy excuses for the MC not reconnecting with the truth with their family/friends (barring worlds where mindreading its a very well know thing, the MC will had more than enough material to prove themselves to their true close friend/family) or they just have them being loners or betrayed by everyone and their dog before their deaths.

Also love her personality, she will be a nightmare to live with but she is so much fun to read, she is a very self assured woman that its used to give orders and for them to be followed, but she is not an ass she is a well intentioned busy body, like she ended in her new body because she was trying to convince the girl to go back to her still living body but the girl choose to move on and then she waited for the original owner with the full intention of giving it back and when she never did, she gave her a funeral and there was not the shityness of the MC being a judgy ass that keeps berating/shaming the original owner in her thoughts over the state they left their life just genuine sympathy and understanding of their different circumstances in life.

Chu Xiaxing’s expression was overcast as she scolded, “I don’t see you afraid of me now.”

Han Chuning: “Oh my, a relative’s ghost is different from outsider ghosts. Besides, even if you’re a ghost, you are still my auntie!”

Chu Xiaxin: “Rather than being scared, I think you might scare the ghosts.” Chu Xiaxin looked more miserable than Han Chuning.

Han Chuning was like a grown-up for outsiders, but to Chu Xiaxing, she always looked like a child. She muttered, “Oh, that’s good then. But the ghosts shouldn’t be able to beat you. You are a fierce ghost with a bad temper now... ”

Chu Xiaxing: “... ” This child, three days without beating, and now, she has become spoiled!

Chu Xiaxing stretched out her hand to pull at Han Chuning’s quilt and reprimanded her. “You are not allowed to go to bed in your coat. Come down and clean the dirty table. Look at the mess in the room!”

Han Chuning felt aggrieved. “This is not my room, nor is it my mess!”

LOL I love them, I dont need nor want an ML, let this be the Auntie and niece show! and I mean it in a totally platonic way, yikes kinda sad I have to make that declaration.

The translation is good, but the story is too dull for my liking. It is a good light reading, but sometimes too technical that gives way more details than needed. Everything even the ML is too formulaic. There is no real antagonist and the life is too smooth sailing. I could not keep my concentration up, at some point I just read the dialogs and still did not miss any important points.

Instead of carachter development the author made MC the super female. Anything she does perfect and everyone will bow... more>> down to her talent. She has regrets, but you are not going to feel sorry for her as her regrets are not well developed. There are a couple of funny moments but not enough to keep me interested. <<less

Ok, so imagine Kubrick was a woman, and one day after death came back to become Greta Gerwig.

that is this story LOL.

This one is relatively easy to finish as MTL, but I wish it had a better translation because I’d like to learn a little more about film production in China; forget all of the face-slapping actress stories you have read before, this author clearly actually knows a bit about the setting.

I really liked the starting of the story, it was a little different than the stories I've read before, but in the middle it became somehow Boring.. Mtl was easy but didn't seem interesting enough to finish for me

I read through MTL, which was a bit painful, and I’m sure I missed a lot of detail as a result. This story was a bit different than other rebirth/transmigration (not really sure what to call this... possession?) because she is in the same world, same time and place, and immediately contacts her niece to help her out. It also provides an explanation for how the possession occurred - I was extremely amused that her first action upon waking up was to scold the agent for mispronouncing her name (leading... more>> to the wrong person being called to the body).

The romance is not all that great, but if you like to read about a strong female lead, she’s pretty awesome. She’s very zen after living through one life, and has a lot of insight into life and people. She plays a couple of actresses off of each other so that they would act better (while competing) and make her work easier. There is an interesting series of interlinked events that begin in her original past and become relevant to the current self. I did feel it dragged a bit toward the last third, and that sometimes her character was a bit too dense toward relationships. Overall I liked it, and wish I had read a proper translation <<less

It's about a female director that works in a male-dominated industry, trying to surpass herself.

I really enjoyed it. The FL is very assertive and calm.

There's a bit of mystery that ties everything together. I like the romance too :)
