Yan Jiyun died surprisingly, and what was even more surprising was that he was reborn in the body of a cat after his death.

He thought he would live out his whole life in a cat shell, and his master would care for him until he died.

His owner Qi Feng was a weird person. He would often disappear from the house from time to time and would suddenly reappear after a few days.

During that period, he would be covered in injuries or suffering from abnormal fatigue.

Then one day, Yan Jiyun accidentally touched the nameplate that Qi Feng had always kept with him, and he was suddenly brought into a strange world.

No matter how strange and dangerous that world was, Yan Jiyun discovered that he could become a human again in this world!

Currently reading it, tbh the relationship is soooo veryyy slowwww especially because MC don't plan on exposing himself to ML as his cat. He basically wants to be independent and think ML is in his way while knowing ML treasure him (his cat) a ton, he try to avoids interacting with ML at all. This even sometimes looks more harem than 1v1, 'cause all instances he get through by farming favorability from instances characters (other guys) while having almost no interaction with ML.

That trait is very much irritating tbh, I'm... more>> trying to tolerate it and continuing but I honestly don't like harem, including these kind of "harem-like" but glossed over. Thankfully MC is pretty smart especially compared to how author make other players around him so s*upid and useless even though they are also supposed to be players, but everyone just seem like a confused people, never able to solve or think about anything. Really, they are all only become background vase characters that exist only to make MC seems like he's not playing alone.

I like mystery so these kind of deduction story should be what I like, even though it's not too well written and too mary sue, like things just happen to keep going coincidentally the way so MC can move forward. So yeah MC is not OP at all, but somehow he clear worlds and ranks first everytime, it's really because author forces it lol. <<less

This is really interesting, the main character is capable and able to use the fact he is a cat. The arcs are interesting without being over done. The ML Is charming and works well together with the MC. The side couples in every arc are fun. The overarching fight against the system is engaging. The biggest issue for me is how long it took for the ML to figure out that the MC is his cat, even then it wasn't that big of a problem.

A gem!!! 💕 I thought I wouldn't find a good novel anymore. The story has depth, characters have 3D personality, the instances are unpredictable and puzzling, and we have a very cute MC!

The pacing is also okay for me since every detail is necessary for the problem to be solved whereas some details lighten up the mood.

Downside: more on plot. Super slow in revealing the MC's vest (~ch270). But I do not mind since the story/instances are good and characters are fleshed out.

I like how the author knows what she's writing. She knows what to put in the main story and it is not convoluted like the others. The main story ending

Arcs are generally interesting and I enjoy when MC is able to use his identity as a cat to his advantage. That said a lot of the arcs (particularly in later chapters) drag on far too long. Individually, MC and ML are interesting but they don't fit well together. The misunderstandings due to ML not knowing MC's identity are tiresome and it feels as though ML impedes rather than helps the MC. At other points it feels like MC impedes ML and it doesn't feel as though they really balance... more>> and support each other. This may be due to a lack of chemistry and I'm usually not one to complain about that sort of thing.

All of that being said, I've read a fair bit of this novel and haven't yet dropped it. The early arcs where MC is on his own are delightful and there are a number of times I genuinely laughed. It's possible that the lack of chemistry can still be salvaged once the misunderstandings are resolved. That is assuming it happens before the novel is literally over. <<less

I love the structure of this story. MC is a badass in a non-overpowered way, and the games were fresh! I also think that the progression of the characters' relationships were natural and having the reveal set earlier wouldn't have made sense at all, so I disagree with other reviews. I had a blast following the MC throughout this story, even when the ML wasn't a prominent character yet. Overall, a very good read!

I'll come back later to write a more comprehensive review.

Currently enjoying the novel. There's not any romance so far (aside one accidental kiss scene), because... MC is ML's cat, and ML hasn't figured it out yet. MC is pretty smart, though given ML's veteran status in game, MC is often portrayed as not as strong as ML despite being a really OP newcomer.

A lot of the key instance NPCs are cat lovers, so that's how MC gets by. As a cat lover, it's not overly out of the question because humans tend to let down their guards around animals.

I... more>> am getting a tiny bit bored reading *everything*, if only because the instances are getting a little more complicated and the tasks are not as straightforward as their beginner instances. A lot of the new tasks seem simple, but MC has to investigate a lot more to uncover the real plot and story.

As I'm thinking about it, I notice there's a deficit of [good] female characters. The main protagonists of each story are men, and they usually have a "brotherly" bond with some other guy, which makes me side-eye. (I mean, I ship some of them and I want to see how they plan out in the side-stories, but it doesn't mean I like portraying female characters as the villains all the time). There are a few (two?) female characters that aren't villains, but they barely show up or have any significant role other than Yan Jiyun giving them token 'heroic woman' label (one just gets it because she works at a funeral home irl).

As of chapter 303, there is a tiny bit of romance, but our MC is one of those slightly dense to their own romance protagonists. Through an amnesiac ML instance, ML realized he likes our MC... but MC still consciously sees him as his pet owner.

Also, I kind of find the livestream commenters adding little outside of brief comedy when they show up. Since MC and ML don't even look at the livestream, the commenters are only for the readers, which is boring and feels like just a peanut gallery for praising the MC/ML or faceslapping each other.

At 303, we're starting to get to the 'true nature of the System' scenario, though I might pause and get back to it since I'm not feeling overly attached to the novel since my initial interest came from the novelty of a cat MC. <<less
