The youngest military doctor in the Imperial Guard. The only dominant Omega in a nouveau rich miner household.

“Lauren Ismere” was engaged in a political marriage with the third prince, who was blind to the happening in the Imperial Family and the Emperor who tried to covet Ismere household’s wealth.

Contrary to the rumors of him having an ugly mutation-like appearance or him being a Beta, the third prince, “Aslan Campbell” was actually a normal Alpha.

Though he was an overly young Alpha with the scent of sweet, sweet cherry candy as his pheromones.

Giving this one a solid 4.0/5.0. The drama does make up quite a portion of the story (about 3/5th?). Like most omegaverse, you will get these disgusting pig villains, so just a bit of warning on that.

The author made the destruction of Lauren's dad really well. On the other hand, the royal family kinda went down in one go. It felt like they caused too much commotion only for their downfall to be that quick. I needed more moments of Aslan being clever and insidious haha.

Overall, the atmosphere of the story is a bit bittersweet and it will continue until the side chapters. I guess I expected juuust a bit more satisfying moments since it was tagged as a revenge story. Still it's a good novel worth the read. <<less

If you're a fan of devoted puppy dog tops, strong-willed and physically strong bottoms, younger tops and older bottoms, devoted and pure childhood love (with a bit of darkness but only against those who try to harm the person they love), beautiful tops and handsome bottoms, crybaby tops... you might like this.

I love it. It's so good.

There's a bit of family angst--

Spoiler

The death of the Omega's sister, repeated ab*se by his father, and extreme ab*se towards our baby Alpha (he is literally locked inside a tower by his own father)

[collapse]

The villains in the story, the crown prince and the emperor, are annoying but the story doesn't spend too much time on their schemes and discussions to the point that it dominates the story. They also get punished very satisfyingly.

The focus of the story is how our two leads heal each other: how Lauren gets over his family tragedy and trauma by helping Aslan come out of his shell and grow into a stronger person. Aslan does become strong enough to eventually protect Lauren in turn.

Spoiler

It's quite fun to read how he grows from a crybaby and fearful little recessive alpha to a big and strong sly and scheming dominant alpha. He schemes unapologetically to eliminate all who stand in the way of his and Lauren's happiness, and it's so satisfying to read. Even more satisfying is how, even when Lauren learns of what he's doing, he never gets angry at Aslan for it.

My very favorite parts of this story are the chapters

Spoiler

Where Aslan and Lauren write to each other. I love it when stories are told through letters. We can clearly see Aslan's growth from a little boy to a young man in his letters. It's fun to see Lauren scolding him whenever he swears too. Their interaction through these letters were so cute.

[collapse]

The side stories are very satisfying.

Spoiler

Because we finally get smut, and this writer is very good at writing smut. Their children are also cute.

I've never not liked any of the stories that I've read from this author. Deep Pivot, Society Snippet and Temporary Divorce Relationship are also good. <<less

I would give it 4.5 stars.

This was one of the novels I was looking forward to the most, I finally got to read it, so happy~~

I like it, I was already looking forward to reading it, I'm not disappointed. I like Lauren and I like Aslan even more. The beginning and middle are good, the ending... I feel like it was a little rushed, but overall it was good.

Spoiler

I already expected their separation, Lauren took care of him at such a young age... it would be difficult for him to see Aslan as a lover if she had taken care of him longer and watched him grow up. So the separation was necessary, there needed to be that shock of "He grew up", to understand that he is no longer a "little brother" but a "husband". I feel like I missed something along the way, maybe the chapter got cut. One moment he was afraid to give himself away and the next "Okay, I like you".

[collapse]

I have nothing else to say, please dive into this novel.

To Lauren and Aslan, I wish you blessings and give you my love. It was great to be on this journey with you. Love u <3. <<less
