Can I Still Be Your Heroine Even Though I’m Your Teacher?

Description

Never should be exposed, just the two of them in their youth.

「I’ll be making your meals from now on, Sensei.」

I, Reiyu Tenjō, am a high school teacher.

When I shared some food with my neighbor, it turned out to be my student, Yuunagi Nishiki. If this fact is discovered, I might be fired from the school?

That’s why we signed a 『Neighbor Agreement』 in order to keep our secret.

Since we both live alone, the plan was to help each other out when one of us was in trouble——but somehow, I got won over by his cooking.

Instead of helping him, I find myself increasingly spoiled and dependent that I can’t live without him anymore.

‘No, Reiyu Tenjō. He’s your student, someone you are not supposed to fall in love with!’

Drawing closer and then apart——their love sways ambiguously like waves.

A youth romantic comedy filled with secrets between a teacher and student begins here.

Actual good romance.

The gist of the story is that a highschool guy who is living alone discovers that he is living right next to his recently-graduated early 20-something teacher. Stuff happens and they spend a lot of time together.

MC is not a beta wuss. I repeat, MC is not a beta wuss. He is actually very proactive, and is not scared to say what's on his mind (sometimes even a bit of ecchi stuff, just on the level that FeMC can handle).

FeMC is a bit more unrealistic than MC, as... more>> she's a very serious working woman who, by all accounts, is extremely attractive, yet has never been touched by a man. Basically a pure, hardworking, yet slightly clumsy angel, like most novel love interests do. She has zero knowledge about men so her defenses are zero, and it's really entertaining to see our straightforward and blunt MC go for this awkward oneesan and try to get closer to her heart despite all the societal taboos and shit.

TL;DR:

MC is great.

FeMC is cute.

Story is diabetes.

EDIT:

Volume 2 and 3 kinda suck.

There are characters that are just plain annoying That I wonder why our MC keeps interacting with them.

Spoiler

Vol 2 introduces a stepsis that just exists so she could get stuck under a table and say "stepbro I'm stuck" but she actually wants to get railed.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Vol 3 introduces a side character that is a shipper in the worst way possible. Doesn't matter if a person has a lover, as long as her ship sails she does not care about other people's feelings.

[collapse]

Really brought down my expectations after a phenomenal Volume 1. <<less

the dynamic between the MC and FMC is amazing. Even with few chapters you can see how much each one of them changes and evolves.

The MC being more mature than you expect makes the idea of MC taking care of FMC really wholesome.

So far the romance didnt start but I can see th getting really close and really depending on eachother so for sure I want to continue.

Mixed feelings so far. Volume 1 was utterly fantastic, easily worth a 5 star rating. Adorable romance, great characters, good writing, etc. I literally have no complaints. Feel free to read any of the other reviews on this page; they're all pretty much about V1.

V2 however, is the issue. It introduces his younger step-sibling, who's a 'brocon' (if you can be labeled as such while not actually being related). She's.... truly obnoxious. I don't think I've hated a non-villain character this much in years, if not ever. So given... more>> how V1 went, I truly don't think the author is going to go the harem route (frankly, no chance imo), so she's here ENTIRELY to drive the romance and be an obstacle. She's pushy, obnoxious, overbearing, and obsessive. Really can't stand her, and for the first time, the MC falters. The entire reason he's been living alone is so he can get away from her basically (he truly wants to be 'family' with his stepfamily), and yet he won't shut her down the way he needs to. The worst part is if the author needed some friction to induce jealousy or complications, there already is a character who's in the story that can fulfil that purpose: the formerly sporty 'sleeping beauty' character that the MC gives daily wake-up calls to.

Frankly, if V1 weren't so good, this would be dropped instantly. If the story had started with V2, never would have read it at all. I'll wait until V2 is done (and presumably the situation with his sister) to finish the review, but for now I'll leave it un-rated. 5/5 for V1, -100/5 for V2. <<less

If I had to say one thing that seemed strange, it's that they somehow arrived at the conclusion of regularly visiting each other and having meals together, when the original concern was that there'd be a scandal merely from being neighbours.

That aside, this isn't one of those poorly written self-insert or wish-fulfilment stories. The characters don't fall in love for no reason, and are only slightly unrealistically oblivious at times.

The romance is a result of spending time together on a regular basis over a longer period, and not instantaneous.

While staying... more>> somewhat close to the slightly exaggerated archetypes often found in novels, the characters have clear identities and act within reason (except for the premise mentioned above).

The novel does develop "rival" characters as well (as is somewhat indicated by its title in my opinion), but it's fairly clear that it's not going to be an actual harem. For those who appreciate an MC that stays true to a single love interest, I can recommend this novel (he may unintentionally mislead others, but there's no question of who he actually wants to date, and he's not indecisive).

Overall it's fairly well-written, with no major flaws that stood out to me. I'm not particularly emotionally affected by it, nor was it especially funny or something, but it was an enjoyable read. <<less

Before we get into the review FYI I dropped this rom com bc of problems I had in volume 2 which are discussed in paragraph 3. Without further a due lets begin.

This is a story between a high school sophomore and their hot history teacher. They find out they live in the same apartment complex after fMC tries to share strawberries with her neighbour unbeknownst to her the MC. The MC cooks meals for the fMC after realising she lives rather poorly bc of her busy schedule.

They get closer to... more>> each other & eventually develop feelings bc of the close proximity and their give and take relationship. Though from what I've read the MC is doing more of the giving than taking as, hes cooking her breakfast and dinner every weekday and she has only rlly helped him when he was sick and with his distorted family situation.

A word of warning volume 2 may kill the story for you as it did for me bc we're introduced to the mc's annoying asf stepsister who is infatuated with the MC who is also a spoiled, needy, self entitled brat who exists to push the story even though we already have kuhouin who even the fMC is jealous of.

All things considered its a good rom com I would recommend to anyone unless you mind the fact their romance is rather restrictive as they avoid couple activities bc they're student and teacher. <<less

Pretty good so far. I’m a big romance fan and so far it really it’s the nail on the head with that. Some of it is cliché but other times it shows how people would react in a real life situation. I just started getting into light novels so I’m glad this was my second one I read. It keeps getting better and better from here.

also still waiting for vol 3 now and glad the main “brocon” stopped haha

This piece is like fresh air. Before that, I read several other works. They were almost identical in their content. Therefore, this particular work brought me interesting characters, an interesting plot, and beautiful illustrations.

The good thing about the story is that it is unique. By uniqueness I mean that the two main characters under whom the plot revolves somehow came to the conclusion that they should help each other. They have lunch together, although initially they were afraid that a scandal might arise simply because they are neighbors, teacher and... more>> student.

The work provides romance between the characters through regular spending time together over several weeks (this also shows that their relationship did not arise overnight).

The main characters seem alive, open to each other, act based on their feelings, and care about each other.

I liked the novel and will follow the further development of the plot. I didn’t particularly notice any shortcomings, so I give it 5/5. <<less

Grade:

9/10

TLTR:

... more>> Probably one of the best depiction off this type of romance, personally, I really like the MC personality, and his development and understanding of his own feelings only makes him better. The FMC is quite deep too, and quite a dork, and both of them make probably for some of the best and most wholesome but not over the top fluff that I had the oportunity to read.

Read it, the MC actually is not dense as a brickwall and acts on his feelings, and the fMC grows and changes wiht the actions of the MC, both of them feel alive, that and a nice pace make this story quite a catch. (IMO best vol 1 ending in romance that I have read) <<less
