Poor! Poor! So poor that it’s suffocating.
I had to roll up my sleeves and start building infrastructure to survive.
Fortunately, I had a bug system with me.
The bug system, a weapon of war, can fight, and it’s incredibly powerful.
But who among civilized people fights and kills?
With such a powerful bug system, it’s only natural to use it for farming!
Tooth-hurting Earth Dragons plow the fields, Overlord Butterflies disinfect and kill pests, and Giant Mantis reaps the harvest. Farming work is in full swing.
Golden Silkworms spin silk, Wolf Spiders weave cloth, and Killer Bees defend the home.
In addition, mining, road construction, transportation… Bugs are strong and versatile!
Won’t the insect beasts attract too much attention?
In this world where everyone has superpowers, I’ll pretend to be a summoner of spirits, and the bug system will blend in perfectly.
In other parts of this world,
Poverty, oppression, war, darkness, and despair reign.
The pain brewing in their souls attracts the covetousness of evil gods.
The world is on the brink of disaster.
But in Rén Yínián’s territory:
Build tall walls, accumulate plenty of food, develop infrastructure, and wield power—all at once.
With well-fed and clothed, stable, and hopeful citizens, who would believe in the deceit of evil gods?
I won’t listen, I won’t listen. I’ll chant my prayers and live a good life with the Lord.
As good days gradually spread across the entire continent,
Lord Rén Yínián: Saving the world isn’t that difficult, huh?

I was attracted by the cover but it has nothing to do with the story. No idea who the two people are supposed to be, or the city, because it doesn't match the description in the novel.
Everything is just a tad misleading. Personally, I gave it more than a fair chance and it's clear that it's not going to get any better in the last 18 chapters. The pacing is awful.
Nothing really happens for long periods of time, and when something finally does happen, it's split between several characters and locations, which breaks apart the tension and can even be confusing.
Timespans are long, you have to pay close attention or you'll miss that several years were simply skipped, it's mentioned only in the middle of some random sentence.
"The harvest was especially good, in the third year the wine was finally ready". Something like this is all you get as an indicator that the writer left out a couple of years. Characterisation is very flat as well, mainly because there are way too many characters to develop them properly.
People vanish for 10 or so chapters, show up for half a chapter, and leave again.
Others are just never mentioned again, but you are still expected to care when they die despite not knowing much about them.
Just to highlight how problematic the characterisation really is, the writer had to edit some chapters because the characterisation was too wonky/inconsistent.
Several characters change their behaviour, thinking and feelings very suddenly, they don't have development but instant transformations. All of this makes the romance very disappointing.
MC and ML get together after knowing each other for years, but they met only a handful of times, the rest is all done via letters that are 5 sentences long.
ML has barely any personality, like most characters, he has some basic traits but that's it.
You see him so little, and he interacts so little with MC, that their romance is so flat and nondescript that it left me completely cold. MC is the only one who has a passable characterisation, but even he isn't three-dimensional enough to care about him.
The writer just isn't good at characterisation, they honestly simply aren't good at any kind of deep or atmospheric writing. World building isn't worth mentioning and plays little role, bad stuff happens and yet it has no emotional impact.
That's overall a thing with this novel, it has no soul or emotions, neither the characterisation nor the plot. Try it if you like basic kingdom building and have nothing else to read. That being said, the writer seems to be new, maybe someday they get the hang of it, maybe when they realise that writing several novels at once as a newbie isn't a smart thing to do.
