Please use proper spacing and paragraphs. There is a common trope in old-fashioned romance novels—where the female lead must have a rough life, be beautiful in appearance, suffer from being forcibly taken by a wealthy man, and run away after being pregnant…
One morning, Jiang Rao wakes up to find herself unfortunately transmigrated into the novel “The President’s Beloved”, which was once extremely popular. She became the substitute wife who was tormented both physically and emotionally by the male lead, and had desperately wanted to escape his clutches. However, the original female lead was delicate and weak, and the greater her heart was, the less action she took!
Before the transmigration, the original female lead said, “Even if you can have my body, you can never have my heart!”
After transmigrating, Jiang Rao smiled indifferently like a Buddha, “With money to spend and a villa to live in, I don’t need to worry about anything or wander around aimlessly. I don’t plan to run away anymore. It’s too tiring and terrifying to follow the original plot. I’ll just wait to die and be reincarnated early.”
She thought that by deviating from the original plot, the real fiancée would return to take her place perfectly after the one-year contract ends.
One night, she heard a low murmur in her ear, “Sweetheart…”
Jiang Rao, “???”

In real life, a guy who can threaten people with a gun, tell others to break someone's leg, and lie to an amnesiac woman that they're in a relationship is a huge red flag that should be locked away in prison. He gets minimal points for not taking physical advantage of the MC despite toeing the line of s*xual harassment. Sadly he's still much better than the og ML who went insane from FL's escape attempt causing his only surviving relative grandma to die. Og ML both loved and hated FL & shot her leg to permanently disable her. If the novel really is their past lives, they should have made it more clear that ML won't just go off the rails this time. It honestly made me disappointed that MC later didn't address the og ML's actions at all, treating it all as just a bad dream. The ML does show signs of growth at the very end, when he lets her go free for 4 years, but it's really hard to say if he'd actually moved on or changed since they just skip over the separation for a tearful reunion & happy ending cliche.
