Most of the time I like novels where MC breakup with his fiance or childhood friend but this novel might not be a favourite for everyone. The starting was good but after wards the way MC deliberately avoiding the fMC and always asking about her relationship with the other guys is really irritating. If MC wants the fMC to grow act like the plot and pretend dead then start doing your deed this way the story will move on and later we can introduce the MC that he is not... more>> dead and solving the problems. This novel is just about the two members who can't come to an understanding and this concept keeps on streching as he wants to fill the chapters aah it's very irritating indeed. Don't waste your time reading this <<less

It's good, you should read it.

MC is basically reincarnated into an Otome Game, as the Heroine's childhood friend and boyfriend.

Spoiler

Except, the Heroine and the MC are just "fake lovers", and the MC acts as a deterrent for the other male students since the Heroine is considered an extreme beauty.

[collapse]

Though in the plot, the MC's character is considered a mob with no significant abilities. The only thing notable is that he's the Heroine's boyfriend.

Spoiler

The character, that the MC takes over, only serves as a plot device that powers up the Heroine in the story. Other than that, he's supposed to get killed off to contribute to the Heroine's character growth.

[collapse]

But, as shown in the title, the MC immediately breaks up with the Heroine (specifically chapter 2), and tells her that they should stay as friends.

So now they have a semi-close relationship. (They're childhood friends, so they still act like bickering friends between each other)

Spoiler

The MC breaks up with the Heroine so she can get closer to the other Male Leads. Since if the MC stays as the Heroine's boyfriend, then the Male Leads won't be able to foster a close relationship with the Heroine. (They'll be deterred at the fact that she has a boyfriend)

Which is important so that the Heroine gains the Male Leads as allies, just like in the original plot.

But the Heroine still has lingering feelings, since both her and the MC have spent a lot of time together as a fake couple.

But she isn't aware of her own feelings yet, and so she just harbors a small jealousy towards the Villainess who has teamed up with the MC.

[collapse]

However, the MC makes up for his weak physicality with a great tactical mindset (oh yes, the generic: weak but smart cliche MC. And so far he hasn't gotten stronger). In addition to this, the MC has a calm and clear-headed attitude to any situation that arises.

For instance:
Spoiler

As a test of character, a professor (forgot their name) shows their bloodlust towards the students.

The MC resists the intimidation, and casually looks over the frightened students who are struggling against the professor's bloodlust.

The professor takes note of this, and becomes interested in the MC's capabilities as a commander. (Since he has a calm demeanor, and possesses a tactical mind. Despite being weak.)

[collapse]

So since the MC is a reincarnator who's played the game, and he inherits the memories of a character that is well-versed in theoretical strategies...

You get a smart character who isn't capable for fighting, that has to make do with what they have.

Spoiler

The MC's strategies PERFECTLY go as planned. To the point where the Villainess (who teamed up with the MC) questions if the MC has precognitive abilities.

Although, the Villainess and her lackey get all the spotlight. Since the MC lacks the combative abilities to contribute to the team. (But the MC comes up with the plans)

[collapse]

Anyway, take my review with a grain of salt. Since I'm only 15 chapters in.

But so far, I'm liking it. <<less
