[There are now two updates at the bottom that kind of goes against a few things I said in my old review. I have slightly more faith in the story now. So many things have been improved upon imo.] Also this review is so long and has so many spoilers. My apologies.

I can't really rate this as I don't know how I feel about this right now. I'm also aware this may be other people's cup of tea. (I also skipped a few chapters cuz I wanted something else... more>> to happen lol). This review contains a bunch of spoilers. Read at your own risk.

First, The summary is a little misleading when it calls Noah 'innocent' lol. [Edit: I swear it said that at first but it's gone??? Lol, regardless, he's not just cute and lovable]. While it did mention that he has a favorite club and is aware of his masochism...

noah is in no way innocent lol. It made it sound as if he was jist going headfirst into marriage with no plan. He's had multiple partners before and Literally was having a gangbang the first chapter =_=. (Edit: had to come back and comment cuz he really eas having a whole orgy.... it was just him with a bunch of other men in the room.... help] He is also quite manipulative as he definitely knows what he wants. I'll explain more later

Despite the spoiler Noah is very cute though. And kind. Just well aware of himself and his wants.... and a manipulative little control freak oop-

Also I don't know why I thought it would take longer for them to get married.

they literally decide to get married as soon as a they meet each other (for completely different reasons. Ian so he can torture and divorce him. Noah so he can get tortured then live a life of freedom). The marriage happens a month later.

And be aware about the s*x scenes that are first described. Especially if it bothers you to see the MC with people other than the specified ml.

he's described having sex/video s*x at least four times before he gets married. The story goes into detail on each occasion. One of them being after he has already been engaged to the ml. Also one of the partners is a french tutor he'shad for a long time lol.

This doesn't really bother me, but if it does, that was for you.

It also is weirdly a very slow burn despite the amount of s*x in this story. Again, Noah isn't exactly innocent. he knows what he wants and he knows Ian is being harsh with him in hopes of divorce.

this also means that as of the 39th chapter he has very littleif any romantic feelings towards the ml. It's even mentioned in chapter 40 that despite being married to Ian, he doesn't like him lol. (Not really his fault, ML doesn't have many nice things to say tbh. But it's a testament to how the MC can compartmentalize). The ML on the other hand, seems to be gaining some feelings? and possessiveness over the mc

Regardless of what I just wrote, the reason I don't really know how to feel about this story is how the MC looks like a saint to everyone around him. Like usually I love misunderstood MC tropes (or in this case an MC who knows how others view him and uses it to his advantage. But he's still while he does it lol).

But in this case I'm just frustrated? While I was looking forward to a story where the MC enjoyed his own torture this just left me with a off taste in my mouth? I kind of wish their was more romance or some sign this might turn our different but I'm not getting any.

Also the MC has some plans

since he knows that the ML wants to torture him in hopes of divorcing him, he plans to enjoy this while it lasts, leave some evidence of his mistreatment (he makes sure the servants are least somewhat aware of how isn treats him), and then cleanly get a divorce and use it as an excuse to never get married again and live a life of debauchery. Stellar plan, just not what I was expecting. In fact, I kind of want his plan to go off the rails

FYI. The ML has no idea the MC knows or that the MC was enjoying everything from the beginning.

I'm just waiting for the ML to find out because I feel it would cathartic. I just really want the MC to lose control please.

the MC has mentiomed he hates the feeling of not being able to comtrol himself or his bodies reactions which is why he hates continuous or**sms. Throughout reading you can tell despite being a masochist is very used to controlling other's reactions towards him. I want him to lose that. It would be so much fun

I think the reason I'm so bothered by this saint MC thing, is that in most 'misunderstanding' novels I read, the MC isn't so.... angelic? Like their is some amount of comedy or something to offset it. This saint MC just makes mildly bored. Especially since he made to appear saint like but he is fully in control of what he wants. He even playd into it because he knows it will help him. Not saying the MC himself doesn't have insecurities. He does and it's touched upon.

Also the ML is a piece of ----. Make no mistake. I was expecting that though. I didn't write much about him cuz, he didn't make me think much, watching him think the MC is hurt while ms is having the time of his life slowly lost interest to me. I wouldn't be surprised if this turns into a wife chasing crematorium though.

I will continue reading because I want to see how It turns out. But I guess, I'm just not very invested in this couple. Neither of their personalities makes me want to root for them.

as of chapter 51 there has been some devleopemnt and my feelings have turned more positive tbh. Especially chapter 51 loool.

ML sort of now knows about the Mc's preferences

sort of because while the MC mentioned he liked being tortured to get his father to go away... the ML somehow thinks the MC is determined to stay with him despite all the torture and not simply because of it??? At least that'smy interpretation.

Like the MC has him think he likes torture because of the ml, not simply cuz of the torture... which gets the same result I guess?

The reveal wasn'tas catharthic as I wanted it to be.

and it's also very clear now that the ML has feelings for the MC (even if he is unwilling to admit it. Still not exactly sure about the MC. The MC himself doesn'tseem sure. But I am more willing to root for their relationship now loool. They are a match made in hell. I still have an issue with the fact that

the MC hasn'treally lost control. He seems to still be acting and it bothers me

Also I might have to stop reading, I'm not even reading for the smut tbh cuz it's so pain filled that I end up wincing (but the MC is having the time of his life....)

Edit: I know I said I'd stop reading but I had to come back and take a peak and I have new opinions lol

I'm starting to understand Noah better now. He is manipulative an know what he wants but it perfectly makes sense when you consider how he grew up. I hope it didn't make him see like I totally disliked him or anything.... I just want him to lose it hehehehehe

Also the funniest thing so far is as of chapter 67 Noah is wavering on whether or not to divorce the ML for two reasons. The first makes sense, but the second is just making me Crack the hell up.

As of chapter 67, the ml, Ian, stops touching Noah after an old suitor breaks in (i think it was his old tutor?? Can't remember). And the MC has a crisis.

First, he think Ian may like him (.... bae you only noticed now. Then again eith how ian treated him lol) and that's making him hesitate over a divorce. But he's also considering divorcing him because the ML isn't touching him and he's unsatisfied snd cant sleep... kid you not.

If only Noah would just tell the ml

Also, the ML is def head over heels and the MC is still number 1 on his ability to compartmentalize. (I realize I hardly talked about the ml, but Noah is more interesting to talk about imo)

.... And I've completely stopped reading the 'smut' not enjoyable for me at all.

UPDATE: Latest review as of 89:

WARNING: if you really want to see the development yourself I don't recommend reading this update. While I don't go I to immense detail I do provide milestone points.

I def skimmed through but I really wanted to see how this was gonna go lol.

I'll only say that their relationship has genuinely gone so much better than how I thought it was gonna go. Like they really are well suited for each other lol.

Ian (the ml) finally figures out the full story of Noah and his plans with their marriage. And he kind of explodes (as he bd*m tortures the MC looool, but he was into it)

this eveythign come completely clean 75 (post explosion) and they decide to stay married to each other (part of the reason the explosion happens is because noah suggests divorce cuz he feels guilty

Noah is honestly a bit of sweetheart. I will admit it now. Outside of being a major freak int he sheets. And single minded in what he wants. ML is not nearly as insufferable as he was in the beginning for me.

And as of 89 we have major announcement that I will not be adding this review. Hehe

(Also Noah still hasn't noticed his growing feelings for Ian.)

Every time his heart flutters he just brushes it off in confusion (ex. Ch 92). It's so funny to me. Ian is also well aware that while he loves Noah, Noah doesn't love him. It's such an interesting dynamic

I will say that Noah's dad? Has ticked me off the whole story. He's the one who wanted Noah to get married. Finds out how ian is treating Noah and that Noah is a freak, does this whole hating Ian routine now and I'm just so over him. He actually makes me mad whenever he's on screen.

I think I'm really doen now though. I swear this story had me in some sort of chokehold.
