Luo Ning was a cannon fodder, a female supporting character in an entertainment circle, loved-by-all novel. After being reborn, she refused to be cannon fodder again!

The anti-fans clamored: “Luo Ning is just a flower vase. She can’t sing, dance, or act. Every day, she only knows how to tie herself to the top celebrities to gain hype. She has nothing but good looks.”

Later, when Luo Ning appears in front of the public, singing and dancing beautifully, showcases the four arts and survives in the wild, cooks delicious food, can draw talismans, looks beautiful, has a high IQ, and has super-explosive acting skills…

The anti-fans get a good slap in the face: “Big sister, I choose you!!!”

Suddenly, one day, a trending search went viral.

A photo of the mysterious king of the silver screen, Lu Xun, kissing Luo Ning’s cheek was released, and the scandal quickly became the top headline.

Fans and non-fans alike couldn’t believe it. “How could this be? The photo must be photoshopped. Luo Ning is trying to tie herself to the best actor to gain hype and rub off his popularity and traffic. There is no limit to her shamelessness!”

Before Luo Ning could respond, Lu Xun, who rarely posted on Weibo, clarified first.

@LuXunV: The photo is real, the shameless person is me!

After that, everyone could see the best actor showing his relationship on Weibo in different ways every day. Whether it was showing Luo Ning’s delicious food, or her beautiful photos.

The fans and the public were struck by lightning. We didn’t expect you to be this kind of best actor…

I always feel very conflicted about novels like these. It makes a huge point about the MC being under the control of the plot and forced into doing things against her will/nature to her ultimate destruction and paints it as this great tragedy. But this grace is never really extended in the same way to the "scum ex-boyfriend" characters. I see it over and over again where the ex is manipulated (and in this novel it's incredibly explicit that he's being controlled by the plot), but he is treated as... more>> a completely unforgiveable dog.

The double standard is so frustrating. I'm not asking for the dumped ex-boyfriend to be the ML or be given a second chance, but I find it kind of disgusting how we, as the audience, are expected to buy in to the tragedy and horror of the MC being controlled by the plot and having her life spiral out of her control, but there is no self awareness that the exact same thing is happening to everyone else around her. They're all victims of the OG!Heroine. <<less

Completed (MTL), not incl. extras. Like 3.7 or so. Very OP MC, but has some blind spots that are flaws which I think is good. Sometimes lacks tension, but it's a casual read.

I want to disagree with the other reviewer to a degree. There is actually awareness of the horror of everyone else being controlled by the luck/the OG heroine's "luck", but it takes more than 40-some chapters to unravel.

The fact that the "scum ex", Ji Xingheng, is under the control of the plot to such a degree is made... more>> explicitly clear via the narrative from his perspective, but the thing is, Luo Ning doesn't actually know that (at the start). Luo Ning killed herself then read the "book" that their world was supposed to be, which was told entirely from the heroine's perspective, then did a bunch of system tasks to return to the world and break the world away from being a book world and make it a real world (unconstrained by the book plot) instead. She is aware of the "heroine" Bao Xiangxiang's influence and luck drawing everyone into her, and has to break Bao Xiangxiang's white lotus acts to prevent her from robbing luck and permanently stop the book plot from manifesting (because even though she was able to make the world "not a book", the ex-heroine's ability still exists), but that influence manifests differently with different characters.

When she's freshly reincarnated, she remembers how her "scum ex" and his fans basically helped drive her to su*cide despite them being childhood friends/sweethearts that grew up together, and the same thing that started her fall from grace in her first life is on the cusp of happening again. So yeah, she doesn't want to get along with him for a while, especially since he tries to chase her back asap after finally taking the breakup seriously, and controlled by plot or no, having your ex be part of the reason for your su*cide is kind of memorable, as well as thinking that he betrayed you for the girl that caused you to kill yourself. She's experienced all of those horrible things due to the ex-heroine, and initially disliking or being suspicious or doubtful of people that helped the ex-heroine in the past is emotionally reasonable, even if she knows that the degree is because of the book.

However, her ex is also special because he is later revealed to have an almost overpowering brainwashing voice in his head that forces him to think about the ex-heroine at times that are really bad for Luo Ning. Again, this is different from other characters, who are not so heavily bound to the ex-heroine and are more easily able to see her real white lotus self after the plot is broken. In addition, as mentioned before, the book that Luo Ning read after she killed herself was from Bao Xiangxiang's perspective, so by going off of that, it intrinsically adds blinders to her actions/perspective, whereas after the world is no longer a book world, the other details are just filled in/generated. This is also very evident with a different character later on, Shi Ji. While she is aware of things like the heroine's luck, she is not aware of the special voice in Ji Xingheng's head.

Gradually Luo Ning does realise the plot's special hold over her "scum ex" and helps to resolve it, and (spoiler) after he decides to stop chasing the MC, they end up god-siblings with a reasonably good relationship. Having read the whole story, I find Ji Xingheng sympathetic and likeable, but can see why the MC drew such a hard line with him at the beginning and doesn't want to continue dating him. It's somewhat tragic, but I think it's fine. Not every love story has (or needs) a happy ending.

A lot of the other fish in the ex-heroine's pond are men that are scum to begin with, and have a lot of sordid sh*t in their past. The ones that are relatively decent are redeemed, and the ones that aren't... well, they aren't. <<less

Cons: FL and ML are majorly OP. They can do anything and everything, from coding extremely difficult technology to excelling in ancient mystics. No tension is romance build up. The villains are extra boring.

Pros: FL's face slapping skill is peerless. Especially when she meets up with her paternal family. From calling same generation rivals noobs to calling her own paternal grandma white lotus in front of rivaling families. It's very satisfying. There is a scene where her grandma was like "this evil child (talking about FL) I can't believe my... more>> son gave birth to such a vulgar evil child". And the FL returns with "it's comjng... it's coming you guys the old white lotus is going to faint". Then her best friend goes "I'm gonna watch and learn closely so I can imitate the essence of 'white lotus' in my next movie" (she'san actress). I could not stop laughing. Also Lei LiFei, FL's dad's best friend is also a great face slapping teammate. He plays dumb and always fuels fires that FL started lol.

There's not much tension in the romance as most of it is understood to have been developed during their quick transmigration travels. Basically, they fall in love abruptly without rhyme or reason lol. ML is doting and reasonably protective knowing that wifey is extremely capable on her own.

The last 100s chapter or so is their adventures in quick transmigration worlds. They're short and meh reads for when you have nothing else to read about. The romance there is uninteresting... and half plots are unoriginal. I read them anyway because I am a sucker for apocalypse stories... and the intergalactic story was actually my favorite part of their quick transmigrations. <<less

Actually the ex has the potential to become ML if only he could also get reborn before all the fiasco cuz the damage has been already done to MC by him and can't really support him... yess I'm a hypocrite I blame him for his past life. Finally props to MC's father who took revenge for her even in previous life.

Review: till 233 chap.

I thought this story was fun. The MC is very OP. Quite long but fun casual read in general. The main story can basically be separated into two parts. The first part is focused on her past life revenge and redemption arc and the second part is more on the feng shui families arc. I do like how the acting and feng shui is consistently relevant the entire story. The cliches are quite predictable but also I never knew what else the author was going to include. I also enjoyed... more>> the "side stories" which was basically the worldhopping part. Overall fun read. The romance was cute even tho a bit inexplicable. <<less

Way too many plot holes.

I thought the premise of MC completing her world hopping tasks then returning home was interesting, but it just became an excuse to explain her OP_ness. It was really excessive on the show; she knew how to do everything, especially on the cultural mountain.

Tbvh I'm not into feng shui or taoism. Yes I wanted to see the face slapping but I was hoping for some rational, practical methods. Somehow all the enemies practiced witchcraft.

Might still finish this just because I need to know. Ugh
