The MC is like a protagonist from one of those korean highschool manhwas. It ends up being a very bland fantasy comedy, I don't know if it's the translation or if it's simply the way it was originally written but the word choice is very cringe.

Overall the title is very accurate, if you think it sounds dumb then this novel is not for you.

A classic and well-done reincarnation novel.

Our protagonist (Eldmia) reincarnates into a fantasy world.

But when he was 8 years old, his village was burned down by an attack from the demon army, and he survived alone.

... more>> He then saves an elf who was a s*ave from the bandits and she becomes his teacher.

His goal is to get revenge of the commander who burned his village and killed his parents, he warns everyone that will dare to stand in his way and declares "Absolutely Do Not Touch Eldmia Egga"

MC is smart, talented, really hard-working, and as you can see from the summary, pretty savage (his best quality imo)

The plot progression is good, action is top tier, and the characters are all unique in their own, including the heroines.

The novel also just got its Manhwa adaptation which for a novelpia novel (not R18 one) is kinda rare.

So can look forward to that as well <<less

I have not read much of the novel as reading the mtl is really tough...

So, with what I have read I will try to give a general overview of the novel...

This is the story of Eldmia Egga, a reincarnator from Earth who reincarnated due to unfortunate circumstances. Living a hard life in his previous life, the protagonist tries to do his best in this new life of his even though he doesn't have many expectations due to his bad lot. And true to his expectations things turn for the worse... more>> for him really soon, just way worse than whatever he was able to expect in his worst nightmares. Village razed to the ground, everyone he could call his own dead, and all of that happened only after 8 years that he had reincarnated into this world. As one could imagine, it affected MC's already somber and apathetic mentality.

But he was able to find solace in the elf s*ave he had saved from a group of bandits early on in the story and made a deal with her to raise him up till he became an adult. And from that moment on he decided that no one would be able to cross him in the future and that became his driving force to gain unsurpassable strength in life. And that's where he adopts the moniker "Absolutely Do Not Touch Eldmia Egga" and puts it to use by decimating everyone that tries to say otherwise.

We can see that MC is really clinical and cold-blooded, killing anyone that crosses his path or tries to harm MCs loved ones. We also see the kindness that MC possesses within him as he saves those who are like him, left with nowhere to go and no one they could call their own. He makes them his own people and makes sure that no one crosses them as that inadvertently leads to crossing himself.

All in all, I see good potential in the novel and good plot progression going on even in the small number of chapters I have read. If we can ignore the relatively bad writing style of the author and purely focus on the journey of the MC then I believe reading this novel would be really worth your time. Don't know much about romance but seems promising as he naturally attracts others to himself with his charisma and kindness, even though he tries to portray himself as rough and unapproachable. Promising to become a very good novel with the progression.

I will try to make a better review once I have read more into the story. Hope the official translators can pump the chapters soon so that I don't need to read that accursed mtl, lol. <<less

I'll drop this at chapter 13.

Reading this novel make me remember why I find first person pov novel are weird to read most of the time. Reading the countless I (s) over and over makes me annoyed instead, and its more prominent in this one.

MC was an adult got stabbed and died while counter kill the stabber, up to this is okay, he reborn sure, but his mind was more regressed instead, while he convince himself he is hiding his true "adult" self, he talks like puberty overload teenager with... more>> "f*ck (s) " in every chapters, I know the title was childish but can author made the MC not overly childish when he supposedly an adult inside with sound mind? It's more like chunnibyou patient going loose in another world after his limiter village and parents gone got "sacked" by (another) demon king's army.

Well for the other readers, if you don't mind the "f*ck (s) " in every chapter, and cringe lines ig you can give this a try. <<less

This story is nothing unique. If I had to give it any credit I would say the mc's personal magic is unique, though that's mostly by the standards of the setting, because there is plenty of other stories where the MC does the same thing.

I would be lying if I said there was no enjoyable moments in this story. Despite the generic presentation there was parts that I enjoyed, but everything I enjoy about the story is undermined by one major problem.

My big problem with this story, is that there... more>> is constantly plot holes, that while insignificant at surface value, completely undermine the purpose of the plot. Things that characters could do differently to get a better outcome, yet they somehow never do. The thing is, is that these are not glaring plot holes, these could be covered up with either slight tweaks or added explanations, but that doesn't happen, the narrative just ignores these issues.

As I kept seeing the narrative be pulled out from underneath me do to s*upid plot holes, I lost my motivation to keep reading especially as a plot hole became the driving factor for an emotional separation between two characters.

The first big plot hole was in a part where a character would be officially acknowledged as a noble heir on her 16th birthday, and the nobles of one faction were going to meet her on that day, so the characters of another faction go to assassinate her before hand. But if both factions are equal in strength, why doesn't the good faction send out a shadowy protector to defend against shadowy assassins?

These are supposed to be the good faction MC is aligning with, but the narrative portrays them as s*upid and incompetent.

the second big plot hole I encountered is when MC separates from his guardian who is an elf to go to the capital to learn skills from a knight of the bubbling buffoon faction. Despite the fact mc's friend has suddenly over night come into possession of a large mansion in the capital that is currently empty, and the story never states that elves can't go into the capital. The plot gives a tearful separation of two characters, who wouldn't even have to separate if they could manage to rub more than two brain cells together.

From what I read these plot holes were never addressed adequately, and it only made the protagonist characters look morons, which really killed my motivation to go any further.

This Isekai has a strong start. By ch31 with the introduction of the third heroine/harem member the quality drops dramatically. By the mid-40s it becomes so bland and boring that there's simply no point continuing.

It's a pity because it's a high quality translation.

This is definitely one too miss.

Such a fun and interesting story. I don't want to spoil to much, but each character is very well written and the story progresses at a reasonable rate, the MC is likable and the fantasy world is "fantasy" reasonable.

I know we're not supposed to review the translating group, but the notes at the end make the story that much better and I look forward to every chapter and development

I highly recommend.

The writing is quite good. The characters are intriguing. The opening of the story is excellent. However, after that, you notice that the worldbuilding is just average, and the potentially important characters are made into side characters that are not very memorable, while the interesting character is lost. That's what I read for 36 chapters. It's too boring to continue reading. I will update again because this story has a great beginning.

It's ok.

The protagonist is the opposite of the doormat types that are all too common in japanese series, which is certainly a plus. Other than that its very much a paint by numbers fantasy reincarnation story, it takes no risks and does not try anything new.

if you need something to kill time with you could do worse, but don't expect much else.
