My name is Kentaro Tajima, a 34-year-old company s*ave who’s lazy.
When I play VR games to relieve stress, I naturally don’t want to move, right?
Therefore, I need to be a sniper.
A sniper is someone who can solve everything with a single trigger. That is the best option.

What, is there a player in the way of the raid?
Is there a player with a rare item?
There’s a player you don’t like?
Good, we will now start PKing.

first things first, this novel is exactly what the title and description say, the main character is a middle aged office worker looking to distress and is recommended this game by his subordinate. He chooses the sniper class and rifle weapon to move as little as possible, and quickly falls in love with the game.

however there are 2 big flaws with the story,

1 there is little to no description, the author only describes the bare essentials, but this isn't really a horrible thing in my opinion

2 the chapters are... more>> short, I finished 9 chapters in like 4-6 min, so this is more of a light snack than a meal, novel wise <<less

novels that read like journals/diaries are my pleasure, so this novel has been pretty fun to read. Its very light and shouldnt be taken too seriously (another review compared it more to a snack than a meal, which is accurate).

the author is definitely an overworked office worker with a video game addiction as their outlet and was inspired by sao to vent their emotions. Its hilarious and quite accurate as to how a video game addiction can develop as an adult, because playing games and turning off your brain is... more>> much easier than using your brain to read or work more outside of work hours.

with that said, I hate snipers! Theyre the most annoying type to play with on a team and against as an enemy! But since this is a novel and its entertaining to boot, i'll let it pass. <<less

Typical "I picked the worst start possible but it ended up being really strong" with the added spice of a protagonist who enjoys ruining other people's gaming experience with as little risk as possible. I would have rated it around 3/5 for what it's worth until this chapter.

Spoiler

"This guy is coming at me ready to kill me. Oh, he disappeared? I wonder if he disconnected. Why am I dead?"

Which would be perfectly okay for a complete gaming noob, but this guy calls himself a gamer and knows PK, but isn't capable of imagining that people might be able to turn invisible in a VRMMO as assassins? It could have easily ended the same way with him unable to respond because he had no countermeasures, but instead?

[collapse]

Bad personality, bad gamer, bad game mechanics, no reason to follow. <<less
