After eight long years of being the youngest detective in the Violent Crimes Division, she was reborn as the beloved only daughter of a count. She had lived hoping to win over a handsome, devoted husband and lead a comfortable life, but the untimely death of her cousin changed her path forever.

Lucy was scouted by Iathellos, a young inspector, for her extraordinary insight, and her reputation as an advisor grew more prestigious by the day.

‘How will I ever get married if my work is so dangerous? I only wanted to have a peaceful life—I never wanted to be called the “Corpse-Combing Lady” or anything like that!’

I'd read a lot of mystery novels, and this one was pretty generic. At least there was still some logical explanations about the cases. To be honest, I didn't like the MCs too much. They were — as plain as day? Yeah. To me, the culprits were far more entertaining and they became the reason I could go on with reading this novel.

The romance was slightly off too, felt like it was forced somehow. I prefer the side couple, the FL's childhood friends. Her BF was funny and cute, while... more>> her husband was dependable.

Once, I tried to re-read this book a few months after finishing this since I couldn't seem to remember the details of any of the cases here and my conclusion was, this novel was one that you couldn't reread as you might get bored with it. <<less

Dear FL who used to work as detective reincarnates as aristocratic young lady. All she wants is to get married and live a peaceful life. But the tragedy strikes and she had to get herself involved once again in mu*der mystery.

The story is fiction and absolutely unrealistic. Like ml, police chief, just took around civilian woman, relative of deceased for an investigation. Bc she was composed. And most of her great insight stemmed from her knowledge of her cousin rather than anything else. The fact that police didn't even check... more>> the mu*der scene properly is really...

If you don't have anything to read and just want to pass the time. This is the book for you.

If you want interesting mystery cases and exhilarating action scenes. — This is not for you.

If you want heart pounding romance that would make you blush. — This is not for you.

Honestly, can't say it is that bad, but it is overall mediocre?

Maybe bc I read a lot of good Chinese novels where FL coroner/detective/doctor reincarnates in ancient times, the cases in this story seem pretty predictable. FL doesn't use anything extraordinary that she learned from modern times.

FL is portrayed as outstanding smart woman, but most of the brainstorming she did was more or less common sense and basic logical thinking.

And everyone was like 'Woo, waah' she is so incredible. Was she though? As pampered young miss. —Yeah, sure.

But for us readers who know about her past. - not really.

Spoiler

In second case the victim is money lander/ loan shark. So FL proposed the one who killed him might be the client whom he gave money. I mean it is possible. But also so many other reasons for why he could be dead. If he is a cheater then he was killed by woman. If he is gambler then by gambling den. It seemed somewhat sloppy?

[collapse]

The cases are sufficiently entertaining, the budding romance doesn't seem all that bad either. None of those aspects are amazing though.

As far as web novels go, it is pretty good, but you could find better.

Passing is really good in this story though.

Maybe be I am judging too fact, but after reading that much I really don't have any interest of continuing. <<less
