This story was perfect short story! Tells a tale of how physically fighting isn't the only way to be brave, achieving the impossible and saving lives!

Although some may say that the story is bland, I would like to disagree with it. This story was a nice way of showing a different perspective about how a hero is born. Not all heroes fight battles against monsters or evil.

Someone said why the genius architect (actually I think he is an engineer rather than an architect cause architects tend to focus more on the aesthetics while engineers focus more on how to build a strong building) never became known..... well realistically speaking people upon looking at a building they will usually focus on how it looks, what is the purpose of the building and who owns it. People rarely ask how it is built or who built it.

As for the girl.....I think she was there not to serve as a reward but to give the main character someone who can appreciate his works cause she really does believe and appreciate his work and with the girl around it helped in exploring the relationship between the brothers.

As for the dragon...... well they are dragons who only knows how to attack and damage towns and cities do you really think they would bother trying to topple a single building over and over again when there are a lot of other buildings to attack and there are knights trying to fight them of ????

Now that I am done saying those here are some of my thoughts about the whole thing.... indeed it might be a bit too wordy but it helps in setting the story and its background so I was fine with it. And I really like the kindness shown by one brother despite the words said to him by his own sibling. And this novel accurately showed that even though they are siblings but because they are essentially two different people despite their blood relation they can still have very different thoughts and perspective about the things that happen to them and around them and it also succeeded to show that siblings can have different talents and skill yet people tend to forget that they are different people despite their blood relation hence the difference and they would still compare them and notice the one who excels exceedingly in one area that is popular amongst the masses and forget or fail to notice that the other one also excels exceedingly in an area that some may view as unpopular and boring.

I suggest you read it and see for yourself if it really is as good as I say it is. <<less

Why nobody knows about genius architect who have made the only survived building? Just how it's possible???

Bunch of dragons ignored The Only building left in city...

Eventually guy who saved people is younger brother who killed dragons. So what's the meaning of the story???

They forgot to mention few thousands of people who died in city...

Girl was added to the story just as a prize to the good boy. There is NO romantic subplot here. She just shows who is right from author point of view

Also - add cellar and all problems are solved...

Well all I gotta say is that its good. Showing of that everyone can be a hero in their own ways, this story nicely portrays how people expirience and see things difrently. The younger brother sought revenge and power, where as the older brother sought to prevent the tragedy of his childhood from happening again. Their goals both the same, to defeat dragons. But its in how they defeat them that makes them unique.

Whats also nice is its message. You shouldnt compare yourself to others and you shouldnt listen to... more>> the admonishments of others who do not understand you. Follow your ideals and push forward no matter what anyone says.

Well all of this is to say that you should read it cause its a oneshot and you probably dont ahve anything better to do/ have the time to read it (it probably took uou longer to find this than it will take to read it lol). <<less

For a ONESHOT it's fine, it evokes the old tales that the Grim brothers compiled, simple, straightforward stories with a message to tell and some wisdom to impart.

I found the whole romantic interest a bit forced... the drama was definitely forced because we lack characterizations.

It would have being perfect if the author had tweaked a bit the drama to be more consistent with what the story was supposed to be in the end... and hell, even in this short story the frikken japanese author managed to insert the "Japanese MC... more>> syndrome" all this damn authors love to have...

But well, other than the common downfall of all this characters that come out of Japan, it was a nice story. <<less

There's a bit of a drama and romance here, but for me the sentence building is kinda bland, it was supposed to be heart touching, but I guess it didn't touch mine.
