It's pretty fun, not nearly as bad as I expected from the description + other review. It's basically just an OP MC story with a scheming evil protagonist. Schemes start out pretty bad tbh (his "brilliant methods" basically amount to overpaying), but they do get much better.

He starts out relatively neutral as an orphan thug doing some basic extortion / occasionally mu*der. He's definitely evil later on: although he never feeds any innocents to bears, multiple innocent sects / clans are slaughtered for treasure / schemes. He also makes sure... more>> to cut the roots properly, even for commoners just in case.

Unlike many web novels, this actually feels planned out. Stronger enemies don't just appear out of nowhere, they're at least hinted at usually hundreds of chapters ahead. The reason for no strong people being where he starts is admittedly a bit weak, but past that he has to scheme to avoid being slapped to death.

After that, why a 4 and dropped before completion? Mostly just the ending. The last 150 chapters or so have some super forced stuff to set up what I assume will be a big battle, which made me lose interest. There's also the "romance"... it's nonexistent. That's a plus for some, but eventually he does accept a woman... in that he says "she's my woman" with almost no buildup, she says a couple lines in the next few chapters, then disappears for the rest.

I still highly recommend giving this a read if you like ruthless evil protagonists. The ending definitely isn't perfect, but honestly I've seen very few good endings in web novels and this isn't even close to the bottom yet. The author notes say he wants to focus on his new work instead, so that explains the ending. There are over 1k good chapters by that point though!

Super light spoilers for the forced BS:

The first big one was when the MC was exterminating a sect. He previously saw that they had a super genius and had killing intent toward him, and he always made sure the cut the roots even when they're just commoners... so what does he do when this genius escapes? Just let him go and tells his subordinates not to worry about it!

The second one had a relatively weak person giving MC a treasure which couldn't be put in a spacial bag / even totally sealed in another way (I think this is the first thing that doesn't work in the bags, too), and for another reason they had to cross an antagonistic area to reach him... So what does this character (who has been established as super smart) decide to do? Ask him to pick it up because they're too weak to keep it safe? Nope! Walk it to him by themself, leaking the treasure aura everywhere!

I give this novel ☆ (1 star/5)

I ended up dropping this novel at chapter 351. I can't deal with this tr*sh any longer.

Of all the things that irritated me the most in this series, it had to be the jade like beauties dropping out of the sky.

... more>> Not just that but the title of this novel should not be Strongest Boss System or Strongest Villain System but Faceslapping and Hurricane it's Raining Jade Beauty like Slender Waist Idiot System !!!!!

MC hardly does anything villainous, always contradicts himself (E.g. He always talks about wanting to be "Low-Key and avoiding trouble but does heavenly+ god defying feats constantly).

There are a lot of things that irked me about this novel but I just can't even be bothered to explain further. I will most certainly avoid works from this author in the future! <<less
